Trap Game for Jags? (1 Viewer)

All of the ingredients are there for a letdown this week for the Jags:

- Coming off back-to-back emotional wins

- Visiting team just got embarrassed at home on national TV

- Defense missing leader and MLB Peterson and possibly best cover corner in Rashean Mathis

- Holiday Week

- Possible local TV blackout - 2800 tickets to sell by Friday afternoon. (Actually I think this is probable. All of the transplants are out of town. Most of the people still in town are more worried about FSU-UF on Saturday.)

Yup. Peterson will hurt them being out.

They did lose in Buffalo last season, so they will have a revenge factor on their side.

On the other hand the reason they lost last year is because they were without a starting CB and his replacements got abused. Seriously, most of the Bills offense was down the left sideline where Brian Williams would have been if healthy. The Jags aren't any deeper at CB this year, so if Mathis is out it could be trouble.

I agree JaxBill, this game scares me a bit. I don't think Buffalo can/will consistently move the chains (move those chains, move those chains, ooh!) against the defense, but I am worried about the deep ball. It seems Losman is better at throwing 50yd bombs than 15yd outs. Sammy Knight is no Rashean Mathis; I see Parrish or Evans netting a couple of pretty big plays.

Daryl Smith filled the MLB position nicely last year with M. Pete out. Him sliding to the inside position and Durant on the outside should be okay...not the same as with Peterson, but okay. Mathis being out for an extended period of time, IMO, is a bigger deal.
