Had the superstars of the Trombone on the last show - wish they would have played that song in full

And ending it with Tipitina - nice touch

Funny - I mostly like the musical parts and it's why I watch. This series had way to many story lines trying to get jammed in one hour each week and it killed it for me.
I should probably have said I skip more like 50% of the musical segments. Some are great while others just don't grab me. Annie's band? Can't stand them.I do agree that they've tried to cram a lot more story lines in the last season or so. I'm not sure what they could have cut out (or just not gone ahead with) but there are some weak spots.

The thing with Sonny and the sniper chick from Full Metal Jacket just doesn't do it for me. And the whole NOAH thing, while a big part of the post-Katrina story, isn't as dramatic as it should be. Davis and his "opera" was a bit of a clunker too. He's a great character but this season it was pretty pedestrian as far as he's concerned.

:lmao: The Desautel's plotline was my favorite, I think.

Yeah that was pretty good. Although I miss the superior acting of David Chang when Janette was in NYC. Oh and Ziggy Sobotka as her stoner roommate.

Just started watching this. I love it. I watch this with drumsticks in my hands and play along with the fantastic music on anything around me. I grab my guitar and try to figure out the chords and the feel, I wish I had a plate of red beans and rice in front of me to eat, and the music as well as the whole culture of the music makes me want to play and dance. I'm not even done with season one yet, and John Goodman is a treasure of an actor. One of the most underrated out there.

David Simon once again scores big. Probably one of the most prolific and important series creators ever. I have never seen anything about music and those who play it ever portrayed like this. I don't even know yet if this is really about Katrina. It's about New Orleans. I have never been there, but now because of watching this, I sure as hell plan to go there.

God Bless the people of New Orleans, and the spirit of keeping the spirit alive. I envy those of you who live there.

I wrote a new song tonight after watching this show. With a lot of swing and stops. This show inspired me. I got the bone parts already arranged.

Just started going in on season two. I can see why Khandi Alexander wasn't on CSI Miami anymore. She is a helluva an actor.

Man the music is so fantastic on this show. Casting Lucia Micarelli was pure genius. The drummer who said he never missed a snare hit since the 80's really hit home. I can count how many notes I have missed to what I have played.

I love this show.

4 episodes in, thanks to Amazon.

I like it and it's nice spending some time with some old Wire actors (and Kim Dickens. Love her). It's not completely gripping me yet, but the end of Ep. 3 when the bus of tourists rolled up on on Chief Freamon and his crew paying respects to the guy that died under the boat was pretty awesome.

It's picking up.

It's a cool show. Very mellow. Nice to just sit back and watch.

This is high praise from someone who hates EVERYTHING!

Have some free time coming up, and I have an Amazon Prime subscription. I want to take advantage of the subscription while I have it as I'm not sure I'll keeping it.

Anyways, I loved The Wire but saw a bunch of posts praising Six Feet Under in other threads, wonder if any fans of both have a preference...?

A few episodes into S2 now, and it's really getting better.

LaDonna's my favorite character and that #### is heartbreaking. Between this and Goodman at the end of S1, I didn't expect Simon to get this dark on me. Well, Kima getting shot was dark and heartbreaking, but in a much different way.

Now, Bunk's about to go teach music to some school kids which should lighten things up and be all kinds of awesome, I'm sure.
