Trivia - most times leading team in rec yds (1 Viewer)

Didn't want to pollute the Hines Ward thread with this trivia Q...

But the thread topic is Ward and Plaxico Burress was the focus for a while and seems like many think it's been Santonio Holmes and Mike Wallace currently. That kinda bugs me about him.
This prompted me to run some numbers.Ward has led his team in receiving yards 7 times (one of those was a tie, but I'll count it). As you might guess, that's not super-strong for a Hall of Famer, but it's not totally embarrassing either. There are some mostly-post-merger WRs with fewer: Charlie Joiner (5), Art Monk (4), John Stallworth (4), Lynn Swann (4). Michael Irvin only has 8.

Non HoFers with seven include: Gary Clark, Ochocinco, Anthony Miller, Harold Carmichael, Eric Martin, and Sterling Sharpe.

But the beauty of this query is the following trivia question.

Most number of times leading his team in receiving yards is (obviously) Jerry Rice, who did it 15 times. Who did it the second-most times (13)?

I thought for sure it was Steve Largent . . . but was surprised that it was not. The right answer was my third guess.

I'll give people a hint. The guy that did it did not do it all for the same team.

Yes, Ellard it is.

Here are the HoFers:

I had a nice post where I reasoned it out. Then accidentally closed the window :( Anyhow, first guy that came to mind for reasons I don't know was James Lofton. TO was my next thought and it'd be interesting since he succeeded Rice in SF. He'll be my official (and probably stupid guess). Others that came to mind - Shannon Sharpe as a curve-ball maybe, Cris Carter (but I don't think so somehow - always seemed another guy there), maybe Largent (though I don't know that he was such a yards guy), even maybe Jimmy Smith (I think his career was kinda better than we all remember, but probably not THAT great). Andre Rison? Not sure he did it long enough. Ooh, maybe Tim Brown. I'll stick with TO though and see what the answer is now.-QG
