Less than two hours old, I'll give it some time. Then I'll get to my point as well.
They all knew they were out of the playoffs when their week 17 games began (GB, CAR and STL were out by virtue of the NYG win on Saturday), could've tanked their games for better draft position, but all 7 won their games instead.I'm so smart it's just unfair. What do I win?

Pretty close to what I was going for - these seven teams all ended their seasons on a winning note.Only INDY and NE have a chance to join that list of "losers" above. My point was that I wanted to show that 24-25 of 32 teams will end on a negative note, despite many of them having what most would consider a good season, based upon their forecast last August.Lots of teams and their fans still want to be playing, but don't forget how good of a year your team had despite going out on a down note.

I like my point better. :goodposting: :goodposting: ;)

OK, but to your point, I think most fans of teams winning a meaningless week 17 game would much rather lose a meaningful playoff game. In fact, to combine our points, a lot of fans scratch their heads at the above 7 teams winning and hurting their draft position (lots of talk about it in Detroit especially).

And, a lot has to do with preseason expectations. Carolina and Green Bay both won to reach 8-8 but there's no feelgood in Carolina just because they won their last game since they had expected to go deep into the playoffs. In Green Bay, however, after a rotten 2005 they came back to finish 8-8 and the season-ending win felt pretty nice.

EDIT -- Oops, I just re-read your point and I was addressing something else.. sorry.. I'm so dumb it's just unfair.
