Trivia question (1 Viewer)

Marvin Harrison 31 - 759Marvin Harrison 32 - 845Jerry Rice 33 - 942Jerry Rice 34 - 1050Jerry Rice 35 - 1057
 :lmao: This all came when I read on the PFR blog that Tony Gonzalez had the most catches in NFL history through his age 30 season. That really floored me, so I went looking to see who had the most catches through each particular age. Thus, the above list.Harrison is doing a nice job of keeping up with Rice. He should have no problem being the all time leader in receptions through age 35. The problem is Rice piled on a ton of receptions from age 38 to 41. He had more receptions from 38-41 than all but 14 players did from ages 28 to 31.
If I'm reading this right, Harrison would need 97 receptions in 2007, and 205 over the next two years, to keep up with Rice over the next two years. Harrison hasn't had more than 94 receptions since 2002, so it's pretty unlikely he'll manage those numbers. Rice got hurt at 35, so maybe Harrison can catch up again at age 35; he would need only 212 receptions in three years, which he is reasonably likely to manage if he stays healthy and with the Colts.
Harrison will turn 35 before the 2007 season starts, and he's currently at 1022 receptions so he should easily catch/pass Rice for the "35 year old" record.
