Trivia Time: Franchise Quarterbacks (1 Viewer)

JKL

There are four quarterbacks who:

1) were drafted in the first round of the college draft; and

2) are the all-time career passing yardage leader for a franchise OTHER than the one who originally drafted them.

Can you name the four quarterbacks?

Favre. Elway?
I think Elway is one. I think Favre was a 2nd round pick so he does not count.
Jim Everett was drafted by the Oilers and is the Rams franchise passing yardage leader.
Correct. I thought this would be one people might not remember. Good job. Elway, Dawson and Everett are right. One to go.
To be fair, I didn't remember it. I had to look it up.I looked up the final one as well, but I'll wait to see if anyone knows it off the top of their head (or can figure it out).

Hint: The fourth QB was part of a trivia question here the other day.
Yes, he was. The fourth and final quarterback was originally drafted by a franchise with, um, a history of great quarterback play continuing all the way through last season. His first starting season came the next year, for a now-defunct expansion franchise in its inaugural season. He went to the franchise for which he is best known the year after that.

Looks like Bobby Layne, but if it is, JKL's "hints" are way off. (or just sarcastic)

It is Bobby Layne. As to the Bears drafting Layne, it would be safe to assume my comments are sarcastic. It's pretty telling that even though teams play 4 more games and most pass alot more, the Bears leading passer was retired by 1950.

When I originally posted, I didn't realize it was the NY Yanks (Bulldogs) he played for his 2nd year.
