Pre-draft many were down on this kid due to his height, speed, ability to adapt to the pro game etc., but I can't help thinking he couldn't have landed in a better spot. He could be an absolute steal late in rookie drafts for those with the roster space and patience to wait.

I'm not saying he's going to be a superstar; many NFL scouts have seemingly already told us he won't. However while sleeper LB's (from a weak crop) & WR's are flying off the board late in rookie drafts, Smith looks like a very sneaky pick who should have a decent shot at starting in the NFL for a while.
I don't own Smith in any leagues and am not a Ravens fan. Just thought I'd see what the SP brethren think on this one since there hasn't been a whole heap of talk about him post-draft

With a better pedigree, Smith now fills that spot Olson would have taken. The situation hasn't changed at all; McNair still only has a year or two at best left in him and Boller is a FA at the end of the year.Smith's FBG dynasty QB ranking lies at #34 (right behind McNair and above Boller), while he's the 5th QB in the rookie ranks (just above Edwards). All right, all right.
You guys want a dark horse / deep sleeper for Dynasty QB?
There's a QB in NFL Europa right now that was picked up last year after the draft as an UDFA. He's 3rd on the depth chart, but you won't find that right now.
He's preceded by an aging QB with about 2 yrs left in the tank and the #2 QB who is a free agent at the end of the year.
Drew Olson, Baltimore / UCLA / Amsterdam Admirals
