Troy Williamson (1 Viewer)

That probably depends on big your rosters are. In my 12 team, 18 man roster league, yes, he's definitely worth rostering. In my league, the best WW receivers available in week 1 were guys like Shaun McDonald, Stokely, Drew Carter, and Dennis Northcutt...those types of guys...

if you're in a 16 man roster league, or a 10 team league, where even guys like Arnaz Battle are available, then you might consider dropping him.

Who?

I'd rather have Fred "The Hammer" Wiliamson on my roster. Until this guy proves than he can (A) get open and (B) actually catch a pass thrown to him on a consistent basis, I would avoid him like the plague...

I held onto him in a deep dynasty this year, drinking the Kool Aid that his eye issues were the cause of all of his '06 drops. It may be true, it may not be. He certainly can get open. Given the pounding that the Falcons took both by the Vikings defense and Peterson, there wasn't much reason for the ball to be thrown. Outside of Peterson's 60 yard screen pass, Tarvaris threw for 103 yards...and they still won by 21 points. Let's wait to see what happens when they need to catch up in a game...I think that's when we'll see what he can really do.

Funny you mention Battle, because I've been sitting there thinking I should do just that, I like what I saw out of Battle, he would be my #5 WR

sure, on a deep rostered dynasty league.

personally, i've just seen him drop too many catchable balls to consider him. there's upside there, but i doubt he'll be on any of my rosters if/when it happens. probably not the smartest approach, but i can't help it.

I would definitely drop Williamson for Battle. Battle should be more consistent and less frustrating. Will Williamson get lucky and catch a couple of bombs over the course of the season? yeah, but he'll be hit or miss (with a lot more misses) all season.

That was my thinking as well, just pulled the trigger...

stole that line from the shark pool one time when it was used in reference to Williamson. i used it at the live draft this year though and my brother was crying for like 2 minutes
