TV Guru's - Looking for a TV for Football Season - (1 Viewer)

Before you buy, you should peruse avsforum.com

They are the FBGs of audio visual.

Bad reviews from avsforum nonewithstanding, I'd choose #2. If you're getting a tv you want to last for 5 years or more, you may as well go 4k.
Yeah, thats where I'm leaning. Also will need HDMI 2.0a cords, and have to convince Direct TV to give me the Genie's for free.
How much 4K media is there (or will there be in 5 years)? I think I'd go with #3. Save the 4K stuff for the basement projector.
As of now, just Netflix and Amazon. I did see DirecTV has 4k boxes, but not sure there is much 4k content out there at the moment.
I think those are the genies no? I was in a chat earlier with them and said it was genie boxes.

Down to 2:

I suck at making decisions. Yes I know.

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN65J6200-65-Inch-1080p-Smart/dp/B00U9U9E1C/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8

65" Samsung - 1080p - Good reviews on sports watching. Smart TV $1298.99 - Not a 4k

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T63YUDK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

65" Vizio 4k - I don't know the hertz but it's 4k and getting best affordable 4k reviews. $1498.00

Down to 2, Which and why? Thank You all for helping.

Until content is actually broadcast in 4K, you are basically paying for marketing. They are a couple years away still. Network tv still doesn't even broadcast in 1080p.

Htz are important if this is for dedicated sports viewing. Otherwise, everyone turns it down to 60 htz so you are not watching on the "soap opera" setting.

240 htz is unwatchable for anything but sports. i turn my 120 htz down to 60 for regular tv too.

If I had to choose one, it would be the Samsung. However I think $1300 is too much to be spending on a 65" 1080p. If you have a Costco membership you can get this 65" Vizio for $880.

OLED is simply so much better the LED that you'll regret paying a lot for a LED TV right now.

I'm locked into amazon with my current budget, I have a pretty hefty gift card over there.

I could get the 4k TV for $200 more than the Samsung.

That Vizio you sent from Costco is $899 on Amazon and 70" is 1298

Then get the Vizio.

Trust me, OLED is night and day - save the money you would have spent on getting the 70" or 4k for a 4k OLED in a couple years.

ORDERED!

Went with the 65" inch 1080 Vizio 1080p

$900.00 - allowed me to grab some other things on Amazon as well (TV Stand for it, a couple power outlets, Some HDMI cables, and a couple Xbox 1 games, and controller.

Thanks for all the feedback and directing me to a few places.
