Remember - new format means only a few questions from the thread will make it on the show. The order they are posted in will not affect the chances of them being used as much as relevance for a wider segment of the audience, or just asking something we wanted to talk about this week. Thanks for listening!

I'm loving the new trinity of fantasy football epicness you've unleashed. *insert guitar riff here* Most excellent.

Can you talk about what strategies you may foresee concerning drafting tandems (or trios) of players whose schedules compliment such that the pairing strengthens their overall value. For instance, it seems to me that if you nab the late round picks of Stafford and Big Ben, you can play Stafford in the early 3-4 weeks against D's he'll probably successfully throw more on, then insert Ben when the suspension is over, hence possibly manufacturing a top ten performance at the position through the season while sacrificing very little to achieve it.

Do you see any other similar strategy plays at this or across other positions?

Thanks as always,

Jonathan

Hey guys love the show!!! I listen every week.

Which QB's do you see this year overtaking the starter by mid-late season (who's on shaky ground or the incumbent is ready to go)? Will any of these guys have fantasy relevance (think 2QB leagues)?

Expand on this by giving us a breakdown of the backup QB to the top QB's - what happens if Rodger's goes down? how adequante would the backup be? What about in Indy, NE, NO?

I'm in a 12 team ppr league. Passing TDs are 4 points. Teams start 1 qb, 2 rbs, 2 wrs, and 3 rb/wr flexes. TE required.

At first, it seems like QBBC is the fundamentally sound strategy. However, because there are so many rb/wr/te starting spots, in about round 3, is it worth it to grab an elite, plug and play qb and a backup really, really late? In mocks, burning that extra mid round pick can really hurt that last flex spot.

I'm drafting from the 12 spot in FBG Championship League. I was wondering what you think about going TE/TE for my first two picks and banking on a tight end run before my next in order to get some RB's and Wr's to fall to me. The 1.5 ppr is might hefty.

Can you guys go through some of the value players you can expect to be available after the 12th round of the draft? Thanks.

What are you guys expecting out of Welker the first few weeks? Do you start him with confidence week 1 or do you wait and see how they work him in? Thanks guys!

Is there a chance you guys could help us feel more comfortable about trusting our own eyes when it comes to evaluating players by posting a couple of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly moments to watch in various games each week? Maybe you could jot down a couple of plays while you are doing your weekly evaluations and simply point out good (or bad) QB or RB footwork, route running, how an O-Line may make a back look better than he is; I think you get the drift of my question. Just some tips on how to be better observers.

Thanks

Are the bears really gonna trade cutler/analyze who's looking like the wr's that will be startable in CHI.

Would love to hear a discussion on what value NE rookie te's will have and who will be starting.

A discussion of possible sleepr value in Camarillo in Minny.

Hint: check this post

What role you see for ammendola/ development of Sam Bradford.

rank these RB's 1 thru 5 based on preference heading into the season (standard scoring, non-ppr).

Pierre Thomas, Johnathan Stewart, Jamaal Charles, Joseph Addai, & Jahvid Best.

.... these seem to be the round 3-5 guys.

Who is running the ball for Denver in Week 1?

% carries for

Moreno

Buckhalter

?other....who?

And will the Broncos run/pass ratio change if Moreno/Buchhalter are not 100%

Since many people have already drafted and the season is fast approaching, I want to talk trades. What players out there do you guys see as losing value as the first few weeks of the season go on and would be good candidates to trade early? Also, what players would be good targets for early trade- the guys who are most likely to gain value as the season progresses?

This year seems to be the year of the 1st and 2nd-year RB -- LeSean McCoy, Beanie Wells, Knowshon Moreno, Jahvid Best, CJ Spiller, Jamaal Charles, Shonn Greene, Arian Foster, and Ryan Mathews. I know it's a lot of names, but which of these guys do you see taking the next step into the fantasy elite, and which guys are destined to fall into relative obscurity (I'm looking at you, Steve Slaton). Thanks!

What rookie / backup RBs do you expect to get meaningful Fantasy Points (PPR league)?

Hardesty

Anthony Dixon

Ber Scott

Ra Jennings

Michael Bush is nursing an injured paw. Is it finally time to start - at least as a flex - McBustin' McFadden and expect decent points? Only in PPR? He's a cheap pick now, an RB4.

I'm pulling these numbers from the following thread on Louis Murphy: http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...howtopic=549103

Murphy had 94 targets last year.....and only 34 catches.

14/52 (26.9%) with Jamarcus

20/44 (45.5%) with Gradkowski or Frye

NFL Dropped Passes Leaders

Rank Player Team Stats

1t Dwayne Bowe KC 11

1t Vernon Davis SF 11

3 Santonio Holmes Pit 10

4t Mark Bradley KC 9

4t Brent Celek Phi 9

4t Dallas Clark Ind 9

4t Ted Ginn Jr. Mia 9

4t Randy McMichael StL 9

4t Louis Murphy Oak 9

4t Terrell Owens Buf 9

4t Bobby Wade KC 9

---

52 targets + 44 targets = 96 not 94,

96 targets -9 drops = 87 targets

34 catches out of the remaining 87 targets means that 53 of the balls were uncatchable, broken up, or not his fault in some way correct? Can you explain that?

I'm just not clear on if we are dealing with a butterfingers situation here or not.

I've only seen Louis Murphy play a couple of times and each time he really stood out and impressed me with the way that he plays. Perhaps I missed something in the way that he catches the ball fundamentally. Bad hands or poor catch radius... is he a body catcher or natural hands type of guy? What is your scouting report on his ability to get open and catch the ball?

Assuming Moss and Welker are 1-2, who will have the third most reception for the Patriots this year? How many receptions will this person have?

Aaron Hernandez, TE Patriots, what are his chances of breaking onto the scene this year and being fantasy relevant? Brady seems to target him a lot, especially in the red zone.

Two questions:

1. Do you see any movement on the V-Jax front before September 4th?

2. Does Greg Olsen play a productive role this year or his he potentially a player on the move before Week 6 of the regular season?

Thanks guys!

Starters

Cassel

Henne

C.Johnson

J.Charles

Megatron

M.Austin

T.Owens

Reserves: Bradford, Knox, D.Bryant, L.Murphy

What WR should I give up for Anderson. Im obviously praying Muphy and prob ship Bradford too(looked good for St.Louis).

Knox or exciting Bryant worth it?

I am confident in Cassel and Henne, but would be a fool to not look for help

Luv the Show :hey:

What teams are you starting to think people have taken too big a position on?...Dallas, Minnesota, Cincinnati...any of these type of teams concerning you as we get closer to the start of the season?

Thanks

Hi guys,

Anyway - 10 team redraft, PPR, 6pt all TDS, 1 RB, 2 WRS, 1 FLEX RB/WR.

Due to a draft glitch ended up with Gates and Finley at TE.

What do you think about a Gates for Matt Forte trade? If I do that what do you think about trying to trade Dwill for a WR1 or WR2 after?

Roster below:

Cutler (Henne)

Rice/DWill (Bush, Spiller)

White/M. Floyd (D. Mason, Gaffney, Robinson, Hester)

Gates (Finley)

Lots of positive talk about Stafford, Best and Calvin Johnson. Do you guys think that Detroit can actually have 3 big time fantasy producers on offense?

Who is the Wideout to get in Minnesota? You have Rice out, Harvin iffy every week, Berrian's inconsistent play, and the new kid Camarillo. Obviously somebody is going to score some points, but who and why?

I heard that TJ Housh is being shopped, does this mean Mike Williams is ready to make an impact? Let's say a WR4 in a 14 teamer?

Thoughts on where McGahee would go if traded? Where would he have fantasy value? If he was traded, what kind of timeline would you expect so we would know if/when to cut bait and pick up a different WW flyer?

Do you think that is really relevant to a wider audience?

Figuring Fred Jackson is out to start the season and Marshawn Lynch is healthy for week 1 who gets the start between him and Spiller, and whats the split?

Just curious, there was reference to a football guys staff draft, but I cannot find it anywhere on the site. Any help??

We have two staff drafts around this time. Sigmund is in one league, I'm in another. There is no write up of them, but in my Gut Check column (probably will be posted tomorrow or Saturday) I analyze the staff league I'm in...

A little fantasy humor before my question: My wife was giving me flack after my latest money league draft so I told her if I do not win at least what I paid in league entry fees this year, I will sit out the entire 2011 fantasy football season. With a smile she said “OK!” Little does she know there is a probable NFLPA lockout next year. (Best case scenario is NO lockout AND I win more than what I paid this year!!)

But anyway, I am in a 14-team PPR dynasty league with a $400 salary cap. The starting requirements are 1 QB, 1 RB, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 2 Flex (rb, wr, te), K, DST with 22 total roster spots. Before Thursday’s kickoff I need to cut some serious fat off my roster.

Which of the following THREE would you KEEP:

Larry Johnson, WAS $5

B. Westbrook, SF RB $2

Sammy Morris, NE RB $2

Kevin Faulk, NE RB $2

Andre Brown, NYG RB $1 (I own Bradshaw)

Gartrell Johnson, NYG RB $1

Danny Ware, NYG RB $2

M. Bennett, DAL TE $1

Definite keepers:

QB - Henne, MIA , Palmer, CIN

RB - Bradshaw, NYG, Hightower, ARI, McFadden, OAK, Washington, SEA,

WR- Moss, NE, Rice, MIN, Nicks, NYG, Moss, WAS, Hester, CHI, Naanee, SD, Price, NE, Butler, SEA

TE - Gates, SD, Gresham, CIN

PK - Janikowski, OAK

DST-Colts, Texans, Falcons, OR Bills

love the new setup but i wish they would still take SOME questions. yes, each question may not be relevant to each owner but even if i don't own the said players, i learn values and decide if i should target them.

just wish you took more questions but youre still the best out there.

At least you didn't just call my question out and not the other ones that were specific... Oh wait - you did! Gratz on the helpful post.
