Two women Sue Favre/Jets for Sexual Harrassment? (1 Viewer)

No I don't blame him for that, I think if true its scumbag 1) to go after a married woman, 2) to go after any woman when your married, and 3) to think your so above anyone else that you shouldnt have to show any common decency(sp?)

Its big time scummish to put his wife through this, especially considering how much of a public figure he is.

lots of normal, everyday guys do this every day...doesn't make it right, but i don't think favre is any worse than them just because he's an nfl qb

that being said, if this is true, it does make you wonder if/how much of this was happening in gb, but was being kept quiet because he was such an iconic dude in the local community...

What Favre has apparently been doing isn't good, but it's not nearly as bad as raping a girl like Mr. Roth. I wonder why this has gotten so much more attention than that ordeal. It hasn't even been an entire season yet and Roth's alleged raping of a girl in a bathroom doesn't even get brought up anymore. :link:

I agree with you in a sense leggman, I just think that as a public figure of his stature, you should naturally be aware that you need to be more careful about your decisions than the average man. Because when the average man does this it for the most part stays within his close circle of family/friends. When Favre, or a US Senator or President does this the whole damn nation knows and i think it makes it much more damaging to the family unit.

Was he charged with a crime? Rape if you weren't in the bathroom whe it happened would need to be judged in a court of law.

I read through the story quickly earlier tonight, and I thought it said the two masseurs who filed the lawsuit were never contact directly by Favre via text or any other method. I think he may have tried to arrange something through another girl or massage therapist. I'm not gonna bother looking it up again, don't really care, but my initial layman's take was it sounded uber lame. That kind of hearsay usually gets tossed as frivolous, right?

Little bit sad that a great player is getting dogged on his way out the door. On the other hand, dude made he's bed so to speak. Can't feel too sorry for him, got nobody to blame for his troubles except little bret.

Umm, this hasn't gotten 1/10th of the attention that Big Ben got. No idea what you're talking about.

can you really blame the guy? I mean don't we all enjoy a happy ending?
and apparently he was used to getting them from his Green Bay and Mississippi "massage therapists." From the lines that I have read, he is used to some version of the "I am Bret Farve (nee Rick James) *itch" routine. When he got to the "Big City," he refused to refine his approach even after it became obvious these women were massage therapists w/o quotes.

I can only assume you were out of country between March and October of 2010...

IF THEY WERE SO OFFENDED WHY DID IT TAKE 2.5 YEARS TO COME FORWARD
I doubt this is the first time they have tried to take action on this.
I'm not absolving Favre here if he did do something wrong, no one should be harrassed but it always looks suspicious when it takes so long to come forward.
Agreed but we really don't know what has been going on behind the scenes. I just think it is a shame that allegations can be thrown around that can tarnish a person's reputation before a single fact is known.

I haven't wasted a lot of time at all reading any of this but, from what I gather:Brett sends pictures, Ben just whips it out...Brett is 1/10th of Ben.

You've seen Ben's junk? It's 10 times bigger than Brett?

They objected immediately after it happened according to the article.
Scavo told her husband, Joseph, about the messages. He promptly told Favre to back off and apologize, according to the lawsuit. The husband got a brush-off from Favre, and his wife and O'Toole got blackballed by the team, the lawsuit says. The Jets stopped calling the women for work, initially offering such excuses as having moved the training camp, Jaroslawicz said. After the allegations about Favre chasing Jets masseuses surfaced in media reports, the team's massage coordinator, Lisa Ripi, sent Scavo a series of e-mails calling Favre "a pervert" but ripping Scavo for not having kept the matter quiet, the lawsuit says.
The NFL then investigated but witnesses wouldn't cooperate.
The NFL also reviewed media reports that Favre pursued two massage therapists who worked at the Jets' facility in 2008, but the league said that claim could not be substantiated because people with "potentially relevant information" wouldn't cooperate with investigators. O'Toole's and Scavo's lawyer, David Jaroslawicz, said he told investigators about the information his clients had.
They got nowhere with the Jets and nowhere with the NFL.

Because they were not offended, they enjoyed the attention. Now it looks like Sterger is going to cash in and they want some loot too. For some reason I have a feeling this is not going to be the end of Favres problems.

Here's the story from when it first broke. They clearly were angry and offended- they spoke to a lawyer about a sexual harassment suit immediately but were told that they didn't have grounds because they were not employees. They also didn't take legal action after the story broke. They waited until the NFL had finished ducking the issue to take action- sounds to me like they're only doing it because the powers that be didn't do what they should have done.

My buddy here has a mat he'd like to sell you, though.

How about women that don't report rape right away? Remember, No really means Yes.
