He has been a consistent fantasy producer up until now but, from what I read, the man is now being thrown into the FS slot after Michael Huff's departure. What does this do for his fantasy outlook? What does it do for Mike Mitchell's potential at SS?

It's Mike Mitchell that may move to SS and he becomes a DB2+ if the move sticks.

Branch could easily replicate Huff's numbers from the FS spot and they may actually play him interchangeably with Mitchell so IMO he retains his DB1 status.

Obviously this is contingent on whether the Raiders sign another safety like Goldson or even retaining Huff. If that happens Branch is a top 5 SS.

Unfortunately that means another timeshare between Branch and Mitchell...Branch fought through it and produced solid numbers again last year, but could lose more snaps to Mitchell again this year, unless Branch steals some of Huffs snaps too, I don't see how this can't hurt his value some...

And Mitchell could have produced top 15 DB numbers easily, not any more...

I can't see this happening. Branch is a great player and I can't imagine him losing snaps to Mitchell. Mitchell loses out big on the Huff signing.

I tend to agree with this. The only thing that keeps Mitchell's value on life support is the fact that Branch is a FA next season so at some point, particularly if they are out of the playoff hunt, the Raiders may decide to see what they have in Mitchell.

Yesterday's game was odd. I had trouble finding Branch all night. This was because it didn't appear he was playing safety, but rather playing corner on Crayton almost the entire night. Anyone else catch this and know whats going on?

P.S. His hit for the safety that got called back on a penalty was nasty!!!

I didnt check the snap count and time of posession, but I was at the game and it just seemed like the Chargers Offense could not get anything going in terms of consistent sustained drives. Rivers was just running for his life most of the time they were on offense. It did seem like Branch was playing a CB role. When I checked his stats later i was pleasantly suprised that he had 5+ points in my league scoring. And yes, that safety hit was nasty!
