Uani' Unga - watchlist alert (1 Viewer)

Beason listed as the starter was O* with a knee; this kid came in was all over the field

27 y/o Rookie from BYU - hard to miss with that hair. 10 solos, 2 assists, 1 pass deflection and INT.

100% of snaps. That said, profootball focus had him as missing 2 tackles and giving up 9/11 pass targets for 99 yards and a TD (presumably to Dunbar, Randle and Witten, who all had good receiving games).

Someone to keep an eye one, but don't go selling the farm just yet.

He was a target of the Cowboys which led to a lot of his tackles. More than a handful of tackles were 10+ yards downfield and were basically tackles because the guy he was guarding was open enough to catch the pass. Also saw him whiffing the in the run game a few times, allowing extra yardage.

Sell high if you own, IMO.

They cut McClain for this guy, and Beason is no bastion of health. Until they have someone else to replace him, I'm buying all over the place. Who cares if they are 10 yards down the field (it wasn't actually that bad, he was ALL INVOLVED in the running game all night too)? They still count 2 points per in my leagues.

Really surprised how critical people are being of him, to me as a guy playing in his first game in Dallas on National TV, he did not play bad. He's not the only guy on the field suppose to be covering and tackling people. I noticed a bunch of other high drafted rookie lb'ers doing what most rookies do, sitting on the bench.

No lb'er in the NFL can cover Dunbar who is very fast and Witten is a future HOFer that has been burning veterans and rookies alike for years.

Guess I'm not the only negative Nancy... straight from Jene's RTD:

Uani 'Unga 10-2 >>> Unga was terrible, but has no competition for tackles other than Landon Collins and showed some fundamental tackling ability. He's an every-down player only until Jon Beason returns. Shallow league owners should let someone else overpay for him.

Exactly why he's a sell high, IMO.

He's WW fodder, getting lots of snaps, being targeted for weak play... I thought that was the kind of player we're supposed to pickup for free.

Anyone rolling with him, with Beason out this week?

He looked lost in pass coverage - the Falcons could very well isolate Freeman and Coleman on him, leading too more of the same this week.
