Best Ball / All-play
PPR Scoring, with 0.5 PPR for RB and 1.5 PPR for TE
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 PK, 1 Def
Here is my team:
Brees, Drew NOS QB - 11 3.09
Henne, Chad MIA QB - 5 16.04
Orton, Kyle DEN QB - 6 12.04
Brees should start each week, but Henne and Orton have potential. I wanted Stafford, he went right before me. I wanted Freeman, he went right before me. I wanted Bradford to slip b/c of bye...he didn't. I wanted Cutler and then we had one drunk-### moron take a Bears player in every single round until he couldn't think of any more...and he went to Cutler early. That said, odds of advancing are 11-4 now, rather than 3-1. My 2nd weakest position.
Bradford, Allen TBB RB ® - 8 24.04
Jacobs, Brandon NYG RB - 7 7.09
McGahee, Willis DEN RB - 6 9.09
Rodgers, Jacquizz ATL RB ® - 8 15.09
Tolbert, Mike SDC RB - 6 8.04
When When I decided on my strategy after the first 2 picks and I didn't like the RBs at three, I queued up Tolbert and Jacobs. I depended upon getting them, and I wanted Wells too - but the Ryan WIlliams injury screwed me on that front. He'd have been the guy anyway.../rant. With Tolbert and Jacobs both filling the 40-50 percent of carries plus goalline role, they should be solid with upside week to week. McGahee should also be solid if Lammey is to be believed (I believe, obviously). I have an odd feeling on Rodgers and Turner this year, particularly that Turner might be a disastrous pick. No reasons, all gut. So I took Quizz. I ended the draft with Bradford behind Blount in TB because it was him or Isaac Redman and I flipped a coin (not literally). Overall, would consider RB my weakness.
Berrian, Bernard MIN WR - 9 23.09
Bess, Davone MIA WR - 5 11.09
Brown, Antonio PIT WR - 11 20.04
Nicks, Hakeem NYG WR - 7 1.09
Shipley, Jordan CIN WR - 7 14.04
Williams, Mike TBB WR - 8 4.04
Nicks was my first rounder. I think I should have gone Vick. Only 2 WRs required, 1.5 TE PPR, 4 pt pass TDs - and my first pick may have been my biggest mistake. That said, Shipley and Bess both have potential for 10 catch games out of the slot. With Ward old and Sanders hurt, Brown could be very good early. TB Mike and Nicks are both studs with multi-TD game potential. Berrian is a solid best ball player because he's a hit or miss deep threat.
Daniels, Owen HOU TE - 11 5.09
Gresham, Jermaine CIN TE - 7 10.04
Pettigrew, Brandon DET TE - 9 6.04
Witten, Jason DAL TE - 5 2.04
The core of my strategy here. I expect to have 3 TEs going every week except 5. Somebody tried to tell me Witten would have made it back to me...at 3.09. Doubt it. One of my only week 5 byes here, along with Henne/Bess and the Browns. Rookie QB in Cincy should mean TE targets for Gresham, Daniels really came on at the end of last season and HOU still has nobody to complement Andre. Pettigrew is better with Stafford than people think, and Witten is, of course, Witten.
Crosby, Mason GBP PK - 8 17.09
Prater, Matt DEN PK - 6 21.09
Rackers, Neil HOU PK - 11 18.04
Three kickers. 2 high powered offenses that play some good defenses, hoping that will lead to stalled red zone drives. Added Prater for Mile High effect hopefully, plus 3 darts are better than two, right?
Browns, Cleveland CLE Def - 5 19.09
Jaguars, Jacksonville JAC Def - 9 22.04
Packers, Green Bay GBP Def - 8 13.09
Jacksonville gets to play Tennessee and Carolina. Green Bay gets to play Chicago, Carolina, and Denver. Cleveland gets to play Cincy, Miami, and Tennessee. Not much else to say. Thought abut grabbing a 4th, but went with Berrian instead. Could be a poor decision.
Love to see everyone else's analyses of the teams, and some outsider input always welcome. Gonna be a fun five weeks!
