Upgrade My Pitching (1 Viewer)

After a pretty good start, I'm getting torched. Felix's injury doomed what was already a thin staff. Looking to upgrade pitching through trade with an owner thin in outfiield, but heavy in pitching. Any suggestions? Was thinking of dangling Rios or Wells.

My team:

Estrada

R. Hernandez

Sexson

LaRoche

Cano

Theriot

Bill Hall

F. Sanchez

Mig. Cabrera

Ensberg

Sheffield

V. Wells

C. Crawford

A. Rios

F. Pie

E. Dukes

Felix Hernandez

Eric Bedard

Daniel Cabrera

Jered Weaver

Anibal Sanchez

J. Shields

Nathan

Torres

H. Owen

Aardsma

His Pitchers:

Hamels

Kazmir

Lackey

Oswalt

Clemens

Greinke

P. Hughes

Maddux

Penny

Thanks Fellas! Tired of getting thumped in this fantasy baseball thing.

I'd offer him:

Rios+Weaver for Oswalt

I'm not high on Weaver, and I think Bedard will bounce back from his shaky start. If you need the speed of Rios, then trade Wells. Wells should be able to land you Hamels or Oswalt - Hamels if you want upside/K's, Oswalt if you want a more sure thing.

I dont think thatll be enough for Oswalt. Id offer Rios for Hamels.

Sometimes the best addition is by subtraction. If this is a typical 5x5 roto league, you really want to shelve pitchers that are going into bad spots, or drop them altogether. I like to do my best to get great ratios, and hope the rest takes care of themselves. Eric Bedard is a good pitcher, but the fact of the matter is he pitches a lot of games against superior offensive opponents. Bench him for those and start him only against the weaker teams. Daniel Cabrera is a very talented pitcher, but I would look to move him. 10 strikeout games are great, 10 walk games are killers. James Shields is another guy I would look to move or drop. The only TB pitcher I'd consider is Kazmir. Shields has some trade value now after his last start. But I think a WHIP around 1.4 and ERA closer to 5 than to 4 is to be expected from him. And playing for TB he is not going to be a 20 game winner this year. You are also being negatively impacted by Felix's injury and Weavers poor start. Thems the breaks, as Felix could come back and be great the rest of the year, or could be injured and not do much at all. Weaver should be okay. I wouldn't trade him while his value is so low.On 'His' team, I would obviously inquire to Oswalt's availabilty. John Lackey is another guy I'd actively pursue. The others I'd leave alone. I want 200 IP guys that can get me a WHIP around 1.10 and an ERA in the low to mid-3's. Hamels is a good young pitcher, but I think the asking price will be too high, and frankly I don't like him in that park, in that division. Try to get Lackey, he is an unheralded pitcher and very, very good.g'luck
