Urban Meyer to OSU, Michigan's loss streak begins again (1 Viewer)

Steals Tommy Schutt and Se'Von Pittman in 1 day, with Dodson likely not far behind. Throw in a heavy-leaning Jordan Diamond, and this is shaping up quite nicely. :football:

I need to get over to rcmb to observe the meltdown :lmao: This is the time of year that is tough to figure....all these kids flip flopping around. I know Diamond hasn't committed to anyone yet. What about Dodson? Is he "committed" somewhere at the moment? For some reason I am thinking Wiscy but am not sure.

Yeah, Dodson is a wisky commit. Pittman is not really too shocking as he was a strong tOSU lean before the fallout. He commited to MSU during the lowest point during the summer. It's not looking good on the Bri'onte Dunn front, however. He is a huge prospect, but I'm not sure if he will be comfortable enough in Urban's offense. Would love to see him in Scarlet and Gray, but we'll see.

Dustin Fox has helped recruit Dunn and he's been positive on that front from everything I've heard him say on the radio or tweet.

After the ending Lloyd Carr and the Rich Rod years I can understand why you are excited by a 9-2 season and no shot at a BCS bowl game unless an an appocalypse happens this weekend.

9-2 must seem like nirvana compared to the recent years.
I'm confused here. MSU and Wisconsin play each other so Michigan will jump the loser. and if Georgia loses to LSU, I don't see how they stay ahead of Michigan. not to mention, Oklahoma could fall past UM if they lose.I'd say there's a very, very good chance Michigan ends up in a BCS bowl.
Michigan won and dropped in the standings. That can't be encouraging, but if anyone wants to spin that as a positive go for it.Losing a tough game to LSU isn't going to drop Georgia very far in the polls and I would imagine not very far in the computers. Playing LSU is playing #1 in the country...Michigan is playing nobody.

If Wisc beats MSU, there might be sentiment towards keeping MSU higher than Michigan in the polls...since you know, they already beat Michigan by 2 touchdowns and beat Wisconsin this year...and they won Legends over Michigan.

While Michigan has a chance at backdooring their way into the top 14 as they can't suffer a 3rd loss this weekend that other teams will suffer for actually accomplishing something, their shot is no better than 50/50 IMO.
bump

50/50 IMO. You can disagree.Back to Urban. BOOM!

Brionte Dunn committed to tOSU this evening.Welcome aboard!
He's been committed for a long time but had announced he wanted to take looks elsewhere when all the crap started happening. This isn't a surprise to me. It's been his dream to play at OSU. There was part of me thinking he'd be perfect for the Borges offense. We'll see how he does in the spread. I suspect Hoke and company will now turn their focus onto guys like Perkins.

Certainly don't want Johnson heading the RB class for you guys. You'll pull somebody of note in.Warren Ball is no slouch either in this Buckeyes class. From what I've heard, Ball is a very nice fit for Urban's offense. Remains to be seen how spread and unconventional this offense will be, especially next year. But it's not like the offense has been Woody-esque since Pryor and Miller have taken over. Will be interesting to see how this moves forward with Dunn, Ball and returning players like Hall and Hyde (and even Big Rod Smith...Jamaal Berry seems to have disappeared).

Hell yeah...

Top Recruit Commits to Ohio State

Noah Spence, the five-star defensive line recruit out of Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, verbally committed to Ohio State on Sunday night, according to Bob Lichtenfels, the East regional recruiting manager for Scout.com.

Minutes after Lichtenfels broke the news on Twitter, Spence tweeted from his personal Twitter account (@nspence94): "Ohio State buckeye nation lets go!!"

Penn State had been one of the favorites to land Spence before the recent sexual abuse scandal rocked the University last month.

Interim head coach Tom Bradley and multiple assistants were in Hershey on Friday night to see Spence play in the PIAA Class AAA championship game, which Bishop McDevitt lost to Archbishop Wood, 52-0. Newly hired Ohio State coach Urban Meyer was also there, and Spence made his official visit to Ohio State this weekend.

This is another blow to Penn State, which has already lost two of its verbal commitments for the Class of 2012.

Dear Ohio State fans,

I asked about Paul Haynes in the main CFB thread, but it probably got lost. How did he do as the Asst DC last season? Can he handle the jump from positional coach to coordinator? Thanks.

If Toussaint continues to progress like he has, I'm not as concerned with getting a RB in the 2012 class. They have some guys like Rawls, Hayes and Hopkins that we still don't know a lot about. Hopkins more than the others. The two hires have rejuvenated the rivalry imo. I am hoping for a "Ten Year War" part II. The last two decades have been so lopsided one way or the other it's taken some of the juice out of it for me.

:kicksrock:Or maybe put another way, if Meyer hired him as the permanent (Asst) DC, would you be disappointed?

From what I've seen out of the guy he's been pretty decent. I'm not much of a evaluator when it comes to Asst. DC though.

Nope. OSU always had a decent secondary with him there.

What amazed me was looking at the list of Ohio's bowl performances over the past 15-20 years ...consistently playing top bowls every year. Their W-L was mediocre through it all, but they've had a whole lot of January games. :enviousMichiganfan:
