Vicent Jackson or Laveranues Coles (1 Viewer)

Who would you rather have as a 3WR Vicent Jackson or Laveranues Coles... V Jack has tremendous upside and in Coles you get solid contributions nothing more, nothing less.

Don't underestimate Coles' upside. Before his foot injuries he was one of the most explosive players in the league. His YPC has gone down since then, but I think he's still got plenty of big-play ability left in him. And he'll be more of the focal point of the Jets' offense than Jackson will be of the Chargers' offense.

I like both guys, but I think Coles is more of a sure thing and has similar upside.

I'm thinking Coles may be a better bet because you know you're going to get solid numbers. V Jacks upside and potental are interesting though...

As usual, it depends on where they're drafted, but as someone who drafted both - Jackson. In fact, I just traded Coles away yesterday. Jackson has a better QB and a better offense that will give him plenty of looks in the red zone. Yes, he'll compete for touches with LT and Gates. But I alos think their presence will open things up for him nicely as well.

My choice would be influenced by my other WRs. If my other WRs are really safe picks (example Harrison/Ward), I would be more likely to go with Jackson. If other guys are risky (Colston/Moss) and maybe even a little weak I would go with the safer Coles. My most occassions thought is Coles, and in the perfect world I hope to have Jackson as WR4, but that maybe asking a bit much.

You think Jackson will get enough catches to make an impact? Parker will be back in a month and they did draft WR in the first round this year.. I know he's had a good preseason but two out of the three TD's were from 8 and 6 yards. You know whe gets those during the season, LT...

Galloway's a little feast or famine type player and am afraid that Jackson may be as well. However most WR are and with the other three might be good to hang on to V Jackson for a little bit but if he doesn't perform I won't be able to get a value like Coles for him... Coles and Galloway have the same bye week which is a concern as well.

What did you get for Coles?
A third round pick in my 'keep three' keeper league that turns into a second if he's a top 15 WR. (I'm not holding my breath)
I don't think top 15 is such a reach. Coles was #15 wide receiver in my ppr dynasty league last year, ahead of Boldin, Fitgerald, Colston, and HInes Ward. I think he'll improve a little this year. I also own Jackson in the same league but he'll have to show some consistancy before knocking Coles out of the lineup.

Interesting, i had the same issue during my draft this past weekend, except that Braylon Edwards was also available. So i was trying to see who pick up as my 3rd WR. I ended up going with Braylon since i think he has the highest ceiling out of the 3. But i think Coles floor is higher than the 3. He's going to be the focal point of that offense.

I think Coles should be around there, Pennington loves that guy, even took a pay cut two years ago to get him back in NY. I just wish Chad didn't look so ####ty in the preseason so far

Redraft league = Coles

Dynasty....if your bottom feeder definitely take Jackson and flyer for the future....competing for championship?? then probably a close to a cointoss in my book but I'd still lean towards Jackson....I'm just more of a gambler on potential studs than the less likely stud but lower risk mid-tier player.

The only scoring system I would even consider taking VJax over Coles is a non-PPR / 20yds per pt / 6 pt TD format.

I believe that VJax is very capable of get double digit TDs this yr.... but Coles will have way more targets / recs / and yds. However, I don't see Coles' TD #s improving from last yr.

Coles is not a #3... hes a solid #2.. VJax is a high reward #3 with an ADP that just seems to get higher every morning.
