VY agrees to terms (1 Viewer)

Well good for his agent, and good for Vince for having faith in someone he knows rather than signing some big-name guy.

this is the agent that forgot to tell him that he'd be taking the Wonderlich at the combine right?

Yup. Of course see where that got him . . . . apparently $58 million. Now, reports are one thing. Until the contract is in, it is difficult to determine how good of a deal it really is. Agents sometimes have a way of making the contract seem better then it really is.

Still, appears to be a great deal for Vince. Wonder how it will affect LenDale's contract given the rookie pool.

Titans sign draft pick RB White

7/27/2006

All ten Titans rookies will be in Clarksville Friday morning for the start of training camp as Vince Young and LenDale White agreed to terms Thursday.

''We’re pleased to finish up these rookie contracts in time for camp,'' Titans General Manger Floyd Reese said. ''This ensures that all of our rookies can focus on football and improving each day in practice so they can be in a position to contribute to the team.''

Young's deal reportedly includes some $25.7 in guaranteed money and could be worth as much as $58 million overall.

Young and White join linebacker Terna Nande who's deal was completed Wednesday as the final Titans who agreed to terms.

Young's deal means Reggie Bush could be in for a long holdout.
maybe, maybe not:Williams $54M -- $26.5M sign bonus

Bush ?

Young $58M -- $25.7M sign bonus
$56M - $26.0 guaranteed sounds about right

I wonder if its $58 million or could be worth up to $58 million.Does it include bonuses like $500,000 if he leads the team to a victory in the super bowl in 2007?

Still the $25.7 million in guarantees is darn good. The Saints may have to give Reggie $26 million or more.

I am thinking I should pin this...

(Seriously, glad this got done. I didn't think there would be a holdout, but you never know. )

$56M - $26.0 gauranteed sounds about right.
Bush is going to want over 58 Million.
And people in hell want ice water.I may be the only person here who thinks so, but I'm starting to hope Bush holds out, gets injured or something, and never plays once in the NFL. I am so tired of these primadonnas every year who think they are so much more special than everyone who came before them, and what they "deserve". The market has been set. You were the second pick. I think the Saints would be making a huge mistake to pay him more than Williams.

Newsflash Bush- you couldn't make this money anywhere else in the entire world than the NFL. And now, sight unseen, you expect to hold the system hostage because of what you think you deserve? Yeah, you looked good on a team that was loaded with All-American talent at most positions, while playing against a bunch of college kids who will never play a down of professional ball. But until you do something at this level that doesn't mean a damn thing. I think the Saints need to play hardball with him. Sign a fair deal, or shut up and go away.

Plus didn't he vow not to hold out? He's been pretty generous with his time/money to the people of NO, so I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt, but it seems very out of character for Bush to be playing this type of hardball -- I would have thought he'd be putting huge pressure on his agents to get this thing done.

:D Maybe I'm just tired of hearing the same thing over and over on sports talk radio.

I live for the NFL season just like everyone else around here, and I get sick of these new up and coming players that think they are bigger than the system. You want to be part of it, but you think you are bigger than it? It just gets old.

I haven't seen up to $62M for Williams, and I've done alot of research. Maybe I just missed it ? From today's Houston Chronicle, they seem to think Williams' contract is up to $54M with Young's up to $58M:Link

...Agent Major Adams has negotiated a contract that could be worth as much as $58 million.

Williams' contract with the Texans could be worth as much as $54 million. ...

Question for you here NYSHREKS. If Reggie got picked 2nd and that's what he should get paid off of, why is someone picked right after him going to get more money. It is an agents job to take care of the client in the best way possible. This all looks like play $ to you and me but if the agent for R. Bush gets an okay contract he will never get a big name player again. This is the agents chance to show that he can get big money for his client. I do think Bush will be in camp and I do think he should get more money than the #3 pick which means he'll be making more than the #1, right?

Dear god, TC just started. Not to mention that Segal has a history of waiting for the players around his clients to get signed to give him some barganing power. These kids just want to maximize their payday, nothing wrong with that.

I could be wrong, but I think Williams' deal is over 5 years and Young's is over 6 years. That would factor in too.
