Waiver Wire DEF for week 2 ? (1 Viewer)

Anything interessting ?KC ?TB ?OAK ?
The Chiefs did a nice job against the Chargers last night and have the Browns this week so that looks tasty -- wish they were at home though. TB and CAR play each other and I think either could be a good play. Oakland has the Rams at home so that might not be too bad either. I have the Bungles defense and don't like the matchup against the Ravens so I need to make a move. Right now it looks like the Chiefs...

No way do I touch OAK after they bit it last week vs TEN... all they had to do was stop the run.. and they failed horribly... what a massacre.. SJAX has got to be drooling at the prospect of playing OAK this week...

I'm leaning KC too

That KC Defense looked good and two return guys who can take it to the house on any punt or kickoff. Reminds me of he Dante Hall days when KC was a top Fantasy Defense due to the return game. They might be a every week play .

All of these have decent arguements to be made. I went with Oakland. Home opener against a rookie after getting blown-out, my money says the 'blackhole' gets them all amped up on hate and the raiders take it out on the Rams.

I did the same and am thinking the same right now. I didn't expect a good performance against TN. I did against the Rams. SJAx doesn't scare me.

Anyone see the Browns game last week? They had 3 sacks and 2 turnovers. Could be a decent play vs the Chiefs. Also think the Seahawks vs the Broncos could be a decent start.

Panthers and Chiefs have been mentioned and I like their chances too.

Picked up TEN for week 1 vs. OAK, and thinking of riding them into week 2 vs. PIT. Dixon didn't seem scary.
Dixon is scary mainly when he runs. Atlanta did a good job last week keeping him in the pocket. If you can do that and bottle up the run then Dixon likely isn't going to hurt you throwing the ball. I think Jeff Fisher is smart enough to realize that.

If Kolb plays I really like Detroit. If Vick plays then I don't like Detroit.
Isnt it ironic that last season, we might have wanted the def playin against em? Detroit was handin out the yds, but wasnt giving up one yd when it mattered. Id almost like to hear a rumor that Peppers is takin snaps on goal-line practice...I believe Seattle has a slight edge because of performance expectations. I know they have made a few moves and it appears to have paid off. I cant really decide on Tenn. yet, I dunno if they can score much on Pitt. for instance...I like the post reguarding KC, Is that any type of consensus? Clev. should prolly do quite a bit of punting...

If New England is available, they also have Buffalo at home in week 3.

Atlanta at home vs. Arizona looks good. Atlanta should be able to move their offense a lot better vs. AZ than they did Pitts keeping AZ off the field. I'd say it's important to see how the health of Fitz and Wells are before they start.

I don't like Kansas City on the road. Rivers had a difficult time throwing the ball last night (and once he found his rhythm, KC really couldn't stop him). I know it's vs. Cleveland, but it's not Arrowhead and last year it ended up being a 41-34 game. The only thing special about KC is if they return a kick for you.

I don't like Seattle on the road. I always stay away from games where a road team loses a close game against a home team who won big after week 1.

This is what I'm going to do. I originally drafted the Bears, but I ended up dropping them for Tennessee because I didn't like their early schedule. They are still available in my league, so I may pick them back up in a week or two. For now, I'm good with just playing the matchups.

I have the Steelers, but they are playing CJ (who I also have). Would you sit Pittsburgh for the Pats?
The Steelers are usually pretty stout against the run and bottled up Turner last week. However NT Casey Hampton is likely out and after watching the Jets offense last night I would be tempted to take the Pats.

Definitely play a decent D/ST vs. the NYJ after last nights display. I wonder if Holmes will even be able to make difference when he returns?

Pats vs. Sanchez
The Pats defense is on your WW?
I think the Pats defense is fools gold. They had 2 touchdowns this week, but gave up a lot of yards and points.Their secondary sucks.
NE had a big early lead and the Bengals can put up points so no surprise they gave up alot of yards with the big lead.

KC gave up about 400yds of offense in the pouring rain, raucous crowd, home on monday night. I'm not sold. They can hit a HR on returns, but to me not worth the risk yet...wait and see to me.

I like Carolina at home against Tampa out of the options available.
I'm rolling with this one too. I know they just got lit up by Nicks, but I see a big rebound at home. Run run run run run and run some more, then get after Josh with constant pressure. It may get ugly.

Yeah, Carolina is my first choice. They have been playing really aggressive. NFC S games always seem to be low scoring unless NO is involved. I like it a lot.Takes guts to go with Oakland, but I am in the few leagues where Carolina isn't there or I have to start 2. Dream matchup and Oakland should play better at home. Impossible to trust them though.
