Waiver Wire Week 15 Defenses (1 Viewer)

Picked up Detroit versus AZ.

The way SEA killed AZ today gives me hope next week.

I'm not expecting a shutout, but a lot of turnovers and a low AZ score, maybe 10 points.

Possible options:

DET @ ARZ

NYJ @ TEN

STL vs MIN(But AP scores me, could also play MIN D as well)

How would you rank these?

Det @ arz

Gb @ chi

Nyj @ ten

If gb gets Matthews and woodson back, which I hear they will, isnt gb the play?

They have owned cutler. Also not sure I am buying det even against arz...

I've been holding Mia vs Jax; CIN at PHI has lost some luster. SEA at BUF is questionable given the suspension risk. What about CLE if RG3 sits? Both OAK and KC have potential of course.

Agree with both. I've been riding Cincy in one league, but I think I'll jump ship this week. I have Seattle in another, and I'm worried about the suspensions + the home/away splits.

I have the 49ers (my def for most of the year), picked up the steelers. I am starting to think about Miami or Tennesee. Pittsburgh has not got the job done as a FF def this year....yet. I'll likely drop the niners later this week after I get a look at the weather for Sunday.

I'm starting STL. They have good LB's, their secondary is very, very solid and Jenkins has been a turnover machine.

Minnesota will have to throw it when they stack the box vs. them. Peterson is great, but no wr on Min can really beat those corners 1 vs 1.

They held Spiller to 37 yards, Jackson to 14 yards rushing.

Cincy or StL for me.

Not sure why everyone is down on Cincy. They got a ton of pressure on Romo, got an INT etc. Is this just because Foles put up some points against the worst pass D in the league?

I think you have to play Detroit out of those. All it takes is one INT for a TD and your defense has a monster week and you know Arizona isn't going to be putting up a lot of points. I have Green Bay and Miami. If Matthews and Woodson play then I'm rolling with GB, if not, I'm going with Miami.

For me in round 1 of the playoffs it's either Miami or Cincy. I'm good with either. But there are 3 other good defenses are on the wire. Detroit and St Louis if I want them, and Indy is a nice stash for wk 16 at KC.

I think I will also wait and make sure matthews and woodson are playing before starting GB. But GB does seem to have cutler/CHIs number and cutler is always a good bet to turn it over...if for some reason these guys dont suit up, I will probably go with another option. DET is still available in my league, but probably not for long.

Was planning on playing STL D, but noticed DET D is on the wire. May grab them.
Pick them up if you can and dump a bench player. But I still think STL is better. Go look at the last 3 games. They have been on fire lately, and their final two opponents do not scare me.

Still think Cincy D is a strong play. They are not going to be happy after blowing that game yesterday. The Cincy D has had a strong 2nd half and they are going against a rookie QB. Yes foles looked good yesterday but what QB hasn't against TB pass D. Seattle is my other option but not expecting the same Seattle D on the road. Plus how good will the Eagles offense do coming off a short week?. Most good offenses have looked bad on a short week this year. This isn't a good offense.

agree. as an eagles fan I would be shocked if they dont get blown out on thursday

Got Det before they hit the WW last nite, thinking about dumping Cincy at this point.
I'm going cincy all the way. Especially if my other choice is Detroit. Nick foles had one good game. He's still a rookie QB and will not put those numbers up against Cincy. As for Detroit they still have one of the worst secondaries in the league. Everyone puts up huge numbers against them. GB put up monster numbers against them last year with all their studs benched. And the detroit secondary is worst this year. I'm expecting AZ to also put up big numbers. AZ will probably lose. But it will be a high scoring game.

I'm also deciding between Cincy and Detroit in one league. But I'm leaning towards the Lions.I agree that DET's secondary is terrible, but I'm not sure Zona can take advantage it. On paper, Fitz should rip them apart, regardless of QB, but he just hasn't looked the same this year. And I'm loving the matchup of the lines. The Lions have been pretty good at getting into the backfield, and Zona has been horrible at protecting their QBs.

Arizona to put up big numbers? The only big numbers that Arizona puts up is turnovers, sacks, and punts. Arizona has given up on the season. Detroit defense is the defense to have next week.

Would anyone play Detroit or Cincy over SF vs NE?
I would. The Cards and Eagles are turnover machines. That being said, I still like the 49ers a lot. Brady just isn't the same anymore against teams who can pressure him without blitzing. And without Gronk, there aren't any obvious mismatchs for NE to exploit. But, what's the upside? Maybe 5 sacks and 2 INTs? Lindley or Skelton can give that up in a quarter.

Still thinking about detroit.... That arz loss to sea was so bad. Don't you think arz comes out fired up next game? I guess they have lost for like 2 months straight though

I had stashed San Diego for week against the Jets. I wonder if they could be a decent at with Carolina coming off a big win against Atlanta on the road. SD looked good against Pitts until some late meaningless TDs

Everybody likes this matchup but I'm not so sure. AZ was so badly embarrassed that if they have an ounce of pride left, they will at least show up with effort. They can't come home and lay another egg that big.And Detroit just played their last really meaningful game of the year. In Lambeau on Monday night. This, on the heels of losing a heartbreaker to the Colts at home and a brutal OT loss on Thanksgiving. Now, they have a short work week and another roadie; out west no less. This has FLAT written all over it. Buyer beware. If you want to take it even further, they play Atlanta at home the following Saturday on national TV. This is the sandwich of all sandwich games and I expect a dull performance from an undisciplined squad to begin with... How do they get up for Arizona right now?I realize one pick 6 or sack n' scoop changes all that -- it could definitely happen -- I'm just saying this isn't the slam-dunk some are making it out to be.Me? I prefer to say hello to my little friend in Miami. :gang2:

Did that last week in preparation for this week. ;) Carried two defenses into the first round of the playoffs, and the Browns scored exceptionally well vs the Cheifs week one.Hopefully the Lions can manage to duplicate that type of performance against the Cardinals.

Great points. Its not like detroit is even close to a top ten def. Cards have played stl, nyj, and sea in their last 3. Det is by far the easiest of this group. Think I am going to roll with an improving gb unit vs chi that hopefully has woodson and Matthews back. Cutler is hurt and is known to throw some ints

Had Jets vs Tenn and Mia vs Jax setup but Det is looking like a solid play for some turnovers and sacks. Playoff time. Can't be wrong here.

This.Rams vs. MIN

Lions @ ARI

Chargers vs. CAR

Those are my options. No idea what my final decision will be..
