I'm pretty sure I've heard this before. But I admit, I double-checked to see if the guy's stats matched up. They do. I won't ruin it for anyone else....

yeah i know it, but not going to spoil it. Saw it yesterday when looking up some inside the park home run stuff.

Cool, thanksI was shocked to see there were 40 inside the park Grand Slams since 1950.
I saw one in person.Mike Greenwell against the Yankees in 1990. I've seen some of the most rare feats at Fenway, including an unassisted triple play and John Valentin hitting for the cycle in the same game (in 1996), a 3 HR game (Mo Vaughn in '96), a straight steal of home (Billy Hatcher in '92), and a no-hitter (Derek Lowe in '02).

The whole term seems like an oxymoron. Most inside the park HR require somebody to sprint around the bases. Seems contradictory to have a walk-off one.

HINT

I have multiple World Series rings
I was going to say Gwynn or Bagwell because of the length of time with the same team but the rings rule them out. Take that out of play and I'm guessing it goes a little ways back to someone who played in one of those spacious parks like Polo Grounds or Forbes Field that had the dimensions to permit such a thing. I'll guess Willie Mays?

It was hit in one of these stadiums...

It was a wild game. The Cubs scored 7 in the top of the 8th and 1 in the 9th to open a 8-5 lead.

As far as I can tell, PH Hank Foiles walked to open the 9th. Bill Virdon doubled to advance Foiles to 3rd. Bob Skinner was walked intentionally to load the bases. **** Cole pinch ran for Skinner. Seminal baseball author Jim Brosnan ("The Long Season") relieved Turk Lown and gave up the homer to Clemente.
