Losing 50 lbs. in one offseason? Methinks Sapp = Shell of Sapp. That's WAY too much weight to lose for an athlete, even in a calendar year. To have lost it since the end of the season? Reckless.Well, that's my 2 cents...
He's lost about 12lbs per month since the end of the season. Not sure that qualifies as "reckless".
Since the Raider's season was over in September, you could break it down to like 7lbs./month.

Your logic is wreckless.

The only fact in this whole story:

Sapp lost some weight.

Kiffin estimated that Sapp weighs 285, and claims he played at 334. Sapp said, "I can't remember the last time I got weighed."

Considering Kiffin was coaching QBs at USC this time last year, and Sapp hasn't stepped on a scale in years, I'd take that 50 pound number with a grain of salt.

I don't think Sapp weighed that much last year, and I don't think he's 49 pounds lighter this year.

Nah.. I've lost 35 in the last 10 weeks. It's not that hard if you know what you're doing. With the resources these guys have he could do this easily and not lose any muscle.

Not sure I understand the reckless comment.

Either way, Sapp looks lean and mean and ready to roll in that photo. Oakland's defense is going to rock this year.

Ahh, yeeaaahhhh, Jared, no, no big deal at all...Any of you that have lost that kind of weight that quickly are FAT ASSES. End of. And yes, you can drop fat quickly, if you're disciplined (never had to, myself!). Now, don't get me wrong, I'm sure Warren had his fair share of fat--and, into the bargain--I'll admit that I haven't paid attention to him in years--but losing 50lbs. in a coupla months?! That kind of weight loss can't be targeted, which means that it probably affected muscle as much as fat. One just can't decide to lose only fat, even under the best regimes, and I'm quietly confident that Mr. Sapp is more "Jared from Subway" than Bruce Lee.Regardless, I'm sure you Raiders fans are right and he'll enter the season as a "300-esque" Warrior, and when combined with the super-athletes you've taken in the draft, will catapult you back to the head of the line of teams wanting that same Super Bowl.Nah, I'm kidding--you'll suck again. ;|

Seems like he's really gearing up to end his career on a high note and make a claim for the hall.
That was my first thought as well. Sapp started off like gangbusters, but seemed to rein it in a bit. I think he knows he is near then end and has made his money. He has the ring and the money, now he wants a spot in the HOF.

You don't know what you're talking about. The program I'm on, you actually gain muscle while losing fat. If you feed your muscles when they need to be fed and keep your blood glucose and insulin levels low the rest of the time, it's easy. If I can do you it, you know these guys have access to better resources than I have.

Guess he's finally taking advantage of all the expert trainers, nutritionists, and other resources that are available to these guys.

Nothing new. Sapp came in to camp in Tampa several times lighter, only to gain the weight back up to and during the regular season. I remember him even saying he needed more bulk because he felt he was being pushed around.

My first thought? Someone put the 'roids on the shelf finally before they kill him or throw him out in his last year

Wait...you're on a program where you *GAIN* muscle and *LOSE* fat, and you still lose weight? And I don't know what I'm talking about?! Far out. I've always read that equivalent volumes of muscle weigh more than fat--guess that was junk science. And, that aside, are you sure the program you're on isn't...umm...steroids?In any event, I really don't give a ####. Consider me an agnostic as to Sapp's newfound dedication to ultimate fitness. Man, you Raiders fans will really grab for any twig in the flood, huh? At least we Titans fans aren't such a bunch of Pollyannas. We know that this season is a reach!

Seriously. That chisled Adonis-like figure last year could only have been obtained by shooting up mass quantities of roids.

I played offensive line in college. During my college career my weight varied from 315 pounds to 255.

One summer we needed me to move from guard to center so I went from 290 down to 255 in six weeks. I got a little too light so got my weight back up to 265-70 for the season and ended up playing guard anyway so finished the season at 315.

My natural weight is around 255. With weight training, sprinting, plyometrics, diet, and by diet I mean targeted nutritional strategies and supplements a lineman can vary their weight emmensly over a short period of time.

With Warren I am sure when he isn't weight training his weight drops, Ususally most lineman don't exercise or watch their diet in the offseason so they bloat badly. (I'm talking about those naturally big guys not Simeon Rice/]evon Kearse types.)

This tells me is that Warren is either watching his diet, exercising or both.

What you can take out of this is that Warren won't be unable to play due to being overweight.

(Unless he goes to an all you can eat buffet twice then it's basically back to 340+.)

Is it that hard to figure out? I've lost more fat than muscle gained. Who said anything about it being equal? You can only gain a couple of pounds of muscle in a month, while you can easily lose 3 to 4 times that amount of fat.

Sapp was a fat slob, look at his NFLN commercial from the past year, he looked like the Michelin man, 50 pounds lost when you are that fat is not hard to do...

I saw him sitting courtside at a few Heat playoff games with Moss. To me it's a case of the players not giving a crap when Shell was the coach. I expect Sapp, Porter, and the rest of the Raiders actually try this year.

I think its pretty simple. :coffee:

:lmao: :moneybag: :moneybag:

Contract Year Diet.

Warren doesn't want to end his career on a high note, Warren wants one more payday. :fro: :brush: :grad: :bowtie:

JENKINS TIPS THE SCALES AT 384

Raiders defensive tackle Warren Sapp has lost 49 pounds in the 2007 offseason.

We now know who found it.

A league source tells us that Panthers defensive tackle Kris Jenkins weighed in at last weekend's minicamp at a jaw-dropping (and raising . . . and dropping . . . and raising) 384 pounds.

Jenkins is listed at 335 pounds. So that would put him at 49 pounds over his playing weight.

Before the draft, the veteran run stuffer (and toilet clogger) was on the trading block. And it apparently broke.

Hilarious. Didn't Jenkins call Sapp a "fat and sloppy"? Jealousy is not pretty on 390 pound men.
