Wavier problem.. please help (1 Viewer)

We have blind bid waivers, I bid $3.50 for torain this week. the comish screwed up and processed the waivers early. I won torain and everyone saw my bid. he reversed waivers and processed again a day later.I was unaware of any problems at the time so i did not put in new bids. someone bid $3.60 after seeing my bid and was awarded him . the rules state that bid increments are to be $.25. so the bid of $3.60 in my mind is invalid. however the the comish round his bid up to $3.75 and awarded him Torain anyway.

after much complaing he now plans to place Torain back in the pool for next week

I feel pretty strongly that he should be my player giving the invalid bid, and the comish has no power to round his bid up for him. ant the very least it should be rounded down making his bid equal to mine, giving me the player because my bid was placed first. please leave comments and let me know that i am not out of line in my thinking

I commish 2 leagues...Torain should be yours...Commish should go by rules...stated plainly for all in your league to read.

If I'm faced with a pricing problem as a commish, I always round up, so I agree with your commish in that part of it. Though we also state that in our rules.

That said, there is no "right answer" that is fair to everyone. Probably the fairest answer is to put the player back in and give everyone an equal chance to bid on him, which is what your commish decided. Yay commish!

If you were in your commissioner's position I think you'd see this is probably the most just solution he can come up with, short of you providing him with a time machine.

So if I were you, I'd just accept he's trying to be as fair as he can and that there is no answer that is going to be 100% perfect, and not contribute to it being a worse situation than it already is.

 Commissioner made the fairest call for all involved. He screwed up by processing waivers early but if he gives Torain to you it isn't fair to the other owner as he was shorted time to put in a claim.

its on the owner to know the rules, the rule states $.25 increments.its on the comish to uphold the rules, not to round up a improper bid

Since the player wasn't bid on with an increment .25 like stated in the rules then the invalid bid should be discarded. No rounding up or down that doesn't make sense. Should go to the best valid bid period.

While the invalid bid is important, just as important is the fact that the commissioner processed the waivers a day early. How is this fair to other owners who may have wanted to put a bid in for Torain but were shut out becasue they were processed early?
