I have Cohen and D.Martin in PPR. I'm rolling with D.Martin. He's probably going to be on somewhat of a snap/carries count since he hasn't played yet this year. It may be a high scoring affair. I still remember last year when the Bucs started to emphasize the running game because throwing the ball 50 times per game wasn't getting them their desired outcome (wins). I would imagine they would want to run the ball to keep the ball out of Brady's hands.
Cohen was ridiculously underutilized last week. Even with a game script that would be ideal to him (playing from several scores behind), John Fox wouldn't put him on the field. I believe he received his fewest snaps last week compared to the other 3 games so far. Jordan Howard had a shoulder issue, and during the game had to come out becaues it was bothering him. They were still down by quite a bit at that point, but Fox kept sending Howard out there over Cohen. Cohen had 40+ yards called back on penalties and got some late reps when Bennie Cunningham got injured (yes, Cunningham was being played ahead of Cohen). Now Trubisky is making his first start against a great Vikings defense. I would imagine the emphasis is going to be on Howard and the run game to limit what is asked of Trubisky. Should Cohen get more involved? Absolutely. But after last week, trotting an injured Howard out there and Bennie Cunningham ahead of Cohen, I don't have much faith.
So in this scenario, I'm rolling with Martin.
As for scenario 2, I would lean with Cohen initially and keep digging for any news coming out of NY about what the team is going to do with Gallman. The OL is going to be an issue no matter who is in there, but Perkins isn't going to make it work and Orleans Darkwa sure isn't the answer. They have tried running the ball but aren't effective doing so. They might give Gallman a shot, but a lot of what McAdoo does isn't making much sense to me. Cohen is the safer play. That Chargers rushing defense is a good matchup for Gallman, if he does get the touches. I expect this to be a higher scoring matchup of the week.
