Weather Watch Week 5 (1 Viewer)

Jacksonville should have the advantage in a game like that, after playing in the monsoon a week ago.

I had New England versus Mark Suckchuz, but this may be the better play.

I never overthink the weather anymore after watching Brady and Moss torch the Titans in the snow.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --Bands of occasional heavy showers and gusty wind near 45 mph at times will continue through tonight. A wind advisory continues. A flood watch is in effect for St. Johns, Putnam, and Flagler Counties. Our nor'easter will combine forces with an extratropical low prespssure moving northward bringing heavier and more widespread rain to our area by late Sunday afternoon into Monday.

Good thread, this will have a negative impact on AJ Green, Mike Thomas, Mercedes Lewis

Lot of running the football, I could see Karim from Ja being a slight sleeper this week if they try and run it 40 times.

If the link I provided is accurate, i do not see how this is an issue at all. Unless, of course, the field is just a diaster b/c of the rain tonight. Otherwise, play ball.

Was down the road in Daytona today. Swirling wind and moderate to heavy rain bands all up the coast and pretty far inland. Projecting 11+ inches of rain through Monday. Should be an interesting game if this weather extends north.

Have you looked at any of the other links? Maybe the squalls come on shore and the train of storms misses the stadium. But they're expecting this Nor'easter to make it's way up from Daytona/Orlando tomorrow. Field is covered and I'm sure they have the drainage pumps going. But this area has already had rain since Thur. night mostly south of town.http://twitpic.com/6x84hj

What's going on with this nor'easter? This from Weather Underground for Jacksonville:

Through 1030 am...a large area of rain and showers will continue over interior North Florida...mainly west of US 301. This area is moving rapidly west northwest at 25 miles per hour. By 1030 am most of the rain will have moved west to the Interstate 75 corridor. Showers have redeveloped over the coastal waters and some of these will reach the coast from Cumberland Island south to Crescent Beach. Rainfall will be brief...but heavy.High surf advisory in effect until 9 PM EDT Monday...Wind Advisory in effect until 6 am EDT Monday...Flood Watch in effect from this evening through Monday evening...

Looks like the nasty stuff isn't coming in until after 4 pm. Should be some on and off rain squalls during the game but nothing that should effect performance.

looks like 20mph winds with gusts to 30. how detrimental is this to the passing game? id imagine tight ends arent affected much, but what about aj green and mike thomas?

Lots of divergent info out there, the source that everbody else gets their data from says it's going to be yucky.http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=30.3321838&lon=-81.655651&site=all&smap=1&searchresult=Jacksonville%2C%20FL%2C%20USAhttp://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=FLZ025&warncounty=FLC031&firewxzone=FLZ025&local_place1=Jacksonville+FL&product1=Wind+Advisory

STRONG EASTERLY WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 40 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED...ESPECIALLY AT THE IMMEDIATE COAST AND ALONG THE ST JOHNS RIVER. GUSTS UP TO 55 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE IN SQUALLS.

Dang it!!! I was really liking the matchup for Gresham, but now with this I might have to switch to Cook. Guess I'll wait until more info comes out.

Being a native I think it will be OK to start the game but by the 2nd half its gonna be terrible. 90% chance of rain usually means a washout down here. I guess you can roll the dice on guys like AJ but I wouldn't expect great conditions deep into the 2nd half. Maybe AJ gets 100/TD by halftime? TRYING TO BE SUPPORTIVE

weather.com shows that the "100%" doesnt kick in til 5 or 6 - before that it's only a 30% chance of rain . . .

Doppler radar shows precipitation over Jax around 2 pm with the heavier bands arriving at 4 pm. 1st half should be ok but the second half could be a muddy mess.

MOP Karma right there

Sparse game thread for Cin@Jax, seems there was something wrong with the NFL Ticket feed. But it appears the wind affected the kicking significantly and the passing somewhat. Rain never came?

Just seems like weather threads are the Chicken Little of the FFA. Sooner or later they're bound to be right, but seems like the majority are not nearly as significant as initially feared.
