Weather Week 6 (1 Viewer)

The site I use has this

  • yellow / orange LAR @ BAL The game of greatest interest with a nor'easter spinning up this weekend. My current expectation is for light rain (accumulation of a few hundredths of an inch of rain), plus some wind. The wind isn't yet set in stone, but I would currently bet on sustained winds of 15mph, with wind gusts around 30mph. That's a noteworthy amount, especially on FG's and deep throws, but it won't impact most plays and routes. I'm leaving this Y/O for now, but if those winds start creeping up at all I'm going to tag it with a hard orange. Stay tuned.

It’s the same site as the OP’s link lol

Too early in the season to worry about weather
Not sure that early or late have anything to do with it.

If there are high winds, that's a problem for the passing game. Whether it's October 1st or December 1st.

Maybe it wont be an issue, but putting your head in the sand and ignoring weather doesn't seem like a solid strategy.

The wind and rain may not affect routes but Cooper Rush might.

Why are we posting links to other fantasy football websites on FBGs forums? Seems like it breaks some sorta unwritten rule
I get this
Good policy for board posting

FBGs doesn't have weather updates presented as such and it's an oft overlooked contributor to FF. Also can mean nothing and we're fooled by making weather based predictions.

It's good for discussion and I assume always been allowed for that reason

Why is there not more firm research available on this at this point? I would, but have a full time job.
I did a quick search and there was lots of research of varying levels of credibility.

This one looked good: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/28...gy-guide-to-weather-trades-roster-management/

"The passing game sees a greater impact than the running game, and actually, there is an easy 15/25/35 rule (see below) to help. Rushing is rarely impacted; the only significant downturn comes in temperatures of 90+ degrees and/or severe downpour. That’s it. Often, rushing improves in snow/sleet/rain due to the running back knowing where he’s going first, and the defenders losing a small beat in response time thanks to the surface.

As mentioned, more happens to the passing game, and it’s mainly due to wind. At 15+ mph, you can break ties/close calls and fade the weather. When it’s 25+ mph, you can start benching quarterbacks and even some receivers, as you start seeing decreases in production hitting 10% or greater.

The “35” of the rule is if the temperature drops below 35 degrees, as the passing game takes a hit there... Overall, this is slightly more than a tiebreak but not an outright bench player concern.

However, if you combine any wind of 15+ with moderate precipitation or temperatures below 35 degrees, our concerns increase. That’s when you consider benching players for players who might be a tier lower but in better conditions."

ESPN just went to the CAR/DAL location. Female reporters hair blowing around a bit. Doesn't seem too bad.

BALT doesn't look like a rain event at all.
