This is great, thanks. Is it possible to add tackle info to it? That would help to single out the returners that also play significant roles on defense, and those would be the guys to target. Offhand, the ones that stand out to me are Wilson, Hobbs, McGee, and Adam Jones.

Yes, thats pretty easy. Everyone has IDP stats. As for return yards I could only find them on ESPN and NFL in what looks liek season totals. Does anyone know where I might be able to find them on a per week basis. Is there anything clever I can do with code to make this look better?

Is Wilson the nickelback for Seattle or just spelling Jennings and Trufant? There were actually rumours that Trufant might take some returns which would have been awesome. With Burleson on IR there could be value here.

Suffice it to say that Hobbs and McGee had awesome games.

Prior to Herman's ReturnerGuys release later in the week, I don't know if there's a better source. You can type the copy into a Word document using a fixed font and spaces (no tabs), then paste it directly into the <code> function. That should work.

Thanks, K.

Looks like it's going to be McGee and Hobbs again this year in terms of fantasy value. Though I saw Norton projecting A.Jones really high among CBs in his early week 2 projections -- not sure the logic there, unless it's based on his 2006 stats.

Thanks for the info!

Would love to see this every week and if any news pertaining to these players comes out during the week adding it here would be helpful as well.

kerpow and I are going to try to make this a regular feature of the Reading the Defense column each week. He'll be providing the stats (with pertinent trends) and I'll be adding some brief thoughts on the IDP value of each.

I'd imagine he'll be updating this thread with the data as well.

However, Hobbs was limited in practice because of a bum shoulder. Maybe they might limit his KR duties.

One to keep an eye on. However, its difficult to predict whether he loses the role or not. There should be information about whether he starts or not on sunday morning, but teams aren't going to comment on who will take kicks prior to the game. I think that you start Hobbs regardless as he put up a solid performance this week even without his return yards. On another note; as Jene said, I'll use these threads for stats and comments regarding returners. Each week I'll create a thread on tuesday morning adding in the stats of IDP returners and a cumulative total for the season. We can analyse change of personnel and trends through this data to determine how valubale these guys are in your IDP leagues. I'm also happy to discuss offensive players taking returns as its likely that most of the leagues that award return yards also use IDP scoring.
