Week 1 Injury Thread (1 Viewer)

Rotoworld. One Jets player saying Brady has torn ACL. How the heck would he know I have no idea. Brett Favre said on the radio he heard it was an ACL thing.

No official word.

Maurice Morris, SEAKnee - questionable to return
Can someone describe the play or how he went down?
Saw the play. Morris was running with the ball into the open and secondary player came up low for the tackle. Looked like his knee was driving forward upon the tackle, which caused him to knee the guys helmet directly. He rolled over and clutched at the knee, but then as his players made it to the area he just was pulled up as they normally do after plays by the hands. Didn't seem like he was seriously hurt, but it did look like he banged his knee good and my first reaction was that had to hurt. Then a few plays later they said he wasn't returning. Just my view, it looked like a bruise type injury. Now with Burleson... that one wasn't good at all. Definite no contact injury. Just was out running a pattern, made a cut and fell to the ground in a few steps... so I would be more worried about what medical reports are going to come in with him this week... He was looked at by the trainers and was left on the bench the rest of the game. He didn't look very pleased...

Barber X-rays negative, but may still be a cartilage issue with his ribs, to be updated tomorrow - according to Mickey Spagnola on Cowboys radio.

Chris Johnson came out of the Tenn game is he out for next week because of his mysterious leg injury?

Forte is getting his shoulder looked at after Bob Sanders licked him. Forte was looking awesome 'till that point.

Back in a series later.

Vince Young now being reported as an MCL tear (minor), expected to miss 2-4 weeks (Joe just sent out an update about this).

But Kevin Jones did take the majority of the carries after this. The Bears were also 2 TDs up at this point (though I wouldn't be pulling starters vs. the Colts until double that lead).

To add to this, per ESPN he may be able to play next week with additional padding and painkillers:ESPN.com Story

A high-ranking Cowboys source told ESPN's Ed Werder that Barber damaged cartilage in his rib cage but X-rays indicated there were no fractures. While the team is uncertain of Barber's availability for next Monday night's home game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the source said the Cowboys medical staff believes that Barber could be treated with painkilling injections and the injury protected with additional padding that would improve his chances of playing.

Ball security would be a concern if Barber wore additional equipment since that is the area where the ball is held against the player's body.

Anyone hear about a Pierre Thomas injury?
I watched the whole game and same him down after a non-descript run in the middle as they were protecting a lead. He was holding his lower leg and the trainers came on the field, then TV cut to commercial. It was never mentioned and I saw him on the field afterwards, but it happened right near the end.So I don't have any real insight, just reporting what I saw.

I'm thinking it can't be serious as it is hardly even mentioned by the N.O. media. One article I read listed the injuries from the game and Thomas wasn't even in there.

Nugent is kicking into the net but Jets went for it on 4th and 15 and went for a 2 point conversion. Guess who I started as my kicker in most of my leagues.
the game just showed Kellen Clemens kicking balls into the net, and Nugent was placing them for him. Seriously.
That's nuts...wouldn't just about anybody's punter be a better option than their #2 QB (Drop-kickin' Flutie as the one exception, maybe?)
Yes. Most teams have a contingent plan in case the kicker gets hurt. Not the Jets. That's poor coaching right there.

Bucs quarterback Jeff Garcia is questionable for next week's game against the Atlanta Falcons with an ankle sprain, Jon Gruden said during his news conference Monday at One Buc Place.

Anyone know what time the official NFL injury report comes out on Fridays? Also, does it come out team by team ... or just one report with every team on it at once?
