Week 1 Sit Em' (1 Viewer)

Quarterback

Peyton Manning - Denver Broncos

Manning will have a tough match-up in Sunday nights game vs the Pittsburgh Steelers. Coming off injury i think he will have some rust and facing a very good Steelers defense i would sit Manning just to be safe.

Andy Dalton - Cincinnati Bengals

Dalton will have to face division rival Baltimore Ravens week 1 on Monday night at Baltimore and that doesn't bode well for the second year QB. I would sit Dalton until further notice just encase he endorse a Sophomore slump.

Brandon Weedon - Cleveland Browns

Weedon will have to face the fearse pass rush of the Philadelphia Eagles, and may not have the luxury of having rookie Running Back Trent Richardson in a full workload. The Eagles sacked Weedon 4 times during week 3 of the preseason.

Running Back

Adrian Peterson - Minnesota Vikings

Peterson will be limited for the first few weeks of the season, and with that being said i would hold him out of your lineup for the first 3 weeks of the season to be on the safe side.

Maurice Jones-Drew - Jacksonville Jaguars

After a 38 day hold out MJD will have a limited role in week 1 vs the Minnesota Vikings, I wouldn't start Rashard Jennings either just encase MJD gets vulture time inside the 10.

Donald Brown - Indianapolis Colts

Brown has been far from impressive during the preseason, and hasn't been guaranteed to work the goal line and shortage downs. I would avoid Brown in a tough match-up with a very good Bears run defense.

Wide Receiver

Greg Little - Cleveland Browns

Little will be facing a very solid Eagles secondary, and like i mentioned before the Eagles pass rush ate up the Cleveland offensive line without starting defensive ends Trent Cole and Jason Babin, I wouldn't expect many good numbers for any Brown this week.

Denarius Moore - Oakland Raiders

Moore has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, and still has not been cleared to practice. I would sit Moore week 1 with the likelihood of Rod Streater getting the start.

Steve Smith - Carolina Panthers

Smith has battled a foot infection during the last few weeks, and has just returned to practice on 9-2. I would sit Smith if you have a solid replacement vs a good secondary in Tampa Bay.

Tight End

Jason Witten - Dallas Cowboys

Witten hasn't been ruled out for week 1, but will be a game time decision for at least the first few weeks of the season. I would sit Witten until further notice.

Jermichael Finley - Green Bay Packers

Finley will face a very tough 49ers defense week 1, and the 49ers were a respectable 7th vs Tight Ends last season. With Rodgers spreading the ball around i don't see a lot of targets going Finley's way for this weeks match-up.

Fred Davis - Washington Redskins

Davis will be paired up with rookie Quarterback Robert Griffin in week 1 vs the New Orleans Saints, and i don't think the two have quite jelled yet during the off-season.

Hey, no offense man since I hate when people approach sit ems like this, but who was starting Dalton, Weedan, AP, MJD or Moore in the first place? I can see Dalton and Weedan for 2QB or 16-team leagues but AP and MJD are on a snap count and Moore might not even play.

I am actually playing against Weedon in a superflex league, and MJD is in a lot more lineups then i expected.

Please insert more rosters of fantasy teams in your sig.

Is there any information in this statement that is not obvious? However, I would still play him at home and with a banged up Pit D.

8 Team 1rb/2wr/1flex.Should I start Taiwan Jones?

I'd sit David Wilson.

The Shark Pool is a tough place these days. Lots of hate.

I blame the economy.

Oh and I appreciate you taking a stab at a sit em thread. Some was obvious some was not but a few of them like, say Greg little or Payton manning give people something to chew on whether they agree or not. Preach on Brotha

Agreed except I blame the a holes spreading the hate not the economy.
I actually blame all the OG members, who came in to battle the "new" members. In an effort to impress the grandpa's, everyone now hates on every thread. Shark Pool got worse, imo

Way worse. Still has value though. There are still enough nice people with manners in here that value healthy exchange of info and perspective.

Brandon Weedon - Cleveland Browns

Thanks for this. Saved my life.
I do play in a lot of leagues that have 10-12 starters in it, along with a few Superflex leagues. I understand some where obvious for standard leagues like Weedon. But i did write this on Monday when Moore was supposed to be back at practice on Tuesday. But i agree the shark isn't the same anymore it's just a joke after an insult.

Hey Zimm, can I make a suggestion for what could be a really good thread idea with a few different players perhaps?

As a person who has written hundreds of threads in here, you want to make your audience comfortable. i appreciate you sharing all these leagues you compete in but I think it would be better to shorten your signature so folks do not have to scroll over it every time. i like the idea of general sit'em threads where a lot of people can post, ask questions, and get ideas.

Do as you like but I think you will make the SP a lot happier if you would shorten up and maybe get rid of all those personal teams you own.

Good Luck,

MOPeace

I guess I see that in your sig, you link to "our rankings" (etc.) on the same site, so it does in fact appear to be your personal blog. A blog which has a nice, convenient "sign up" link as the first thing I see when I click it. Which, of course, gives you permission to market to me.

All of which makes this thinly-veiled spam.

 i have a hard time taking people who feel the need to share their rosters with everyone seriously. not to mention people trying to push their blog on us...

Donald Brown is prob your most interesting call in the RB section. He also is a good receiver out of the backfield so I think he will be productive against the Bears. He also had 20 out of 47 redzone looks last year with Addai and Carter, so I think he gets utilized often with this set of RBs that includes a rookie as his backup.

 Like it. Brown is getting crapped on by most ppl. He will be a solid play all season, me thinks.

People also forget CHI has the oldest defense, on average, in the league. All of their key position players are all either injured or 30+ (Urlacher, Peppers, Tillman). People are expecting a steady decline from them this year. I actually like Wayne and Brown to surprise some people this week. Also, this is the safest Sit Em I've ever seen, that's why people are ragging on it. If the OP made some bold predictions instead of trying to plug his blog he might have gotten a bit more respect.

Seriously, if someone is even thinking about starting Dalton or Weeden this week, who do you think they'd replace them with?

Simple solution read the SP on your iPhone. Mobile app doesn't show sigs.

The only calls you are really making are Finley, Smith and Brown to an extent, although I wouldn't think most are relying on Brown him early. Just because 10% are forced to start Weeden in a super-flex doesn't classify him as someone that most are thinking, "this guy is a good start." It's based on necessity, thus they cannot sit Weeden for someone else.

If FBG is going to allow you to pimp your blog, I wouldn't use this as a stepping stone and follow through by 1) watering your content down with obvious sits and 2) misspelling the names of numerous players at said blog.

Fred Davis is a bad call IMO. Wash will have to pass to keep up with NO.... a lot. We didn't see much of Davis in the preseason because they were working with Niles Paul but he'll be a big part of the game plan. He's one of their most dangerous weapons. Don't fall for the Shanahanigans.

Id agree with this as well. Brown will be solid this season.

Ooof. What you said in this thread is/was a legitimate criticism. And :lmao: at mouthbreathers defending their crappy spelling with more crappy spelling.HUGE  to Zimm.

After all of this I kind of want to see someone attempt a Sit Em' with legitimately bold predictions. The type of hate he'd receive after such a post would be much more interesting than this.

Im sorry why do i care what that idiot has to say? I sent that as a PM because it was private. What about his post was positive?

I agree with the others.

It's like a start 'em thread telling us to start Rice, Megatron, and Rogers.

He was exactly right. Most of your 'sit' calls are hardly bold. If someone is starting those guys it's because they don't have better options. Nobody is benching Vick to play Weeden. They're starting Weeden because they're in a 2 qb league, a flex format, or they're in a huge league with no other options. If you're going to pimp your blog you should learn to spell. Take a remedial English course. And at least pretend to conduct yourself with an ounce of class. Nobody wants to read the blog of a obnoxious, illiterate jerkoff unless it's for pure rubbernecking.

I wouldnt bench Steve Smith if he were playing after having a kidney removed. Dude is tougher than piano wire.

If we could combine your content, MOP, and Zimm's formatting (easier and neater to read) we may have an incredible thread.

Thanks for taking the time to post some thoughts, Zimm. A few years back, this is the kind of thread that would have had two or three pages of other members posting their thoughts on who should be sat down this week

But the new cynical, 'everyone's a fantasy idiot except me' Shark Pool now has to try to make an ### out of anyone trying to come up with a good thread idea.

And so what that he posted a one word link to his blog. He didn't mention it or try shoving down anyone's throat. Lighten up folks. It's one guy's opinion of bad starts. Agree or disagree or post some of your own. Isn't that what this place is supposed to be?

This is the kind of stuff I really expected to see when I came to FBG. I really thought that with so many members, one person would start a list (or a discussion) and it would just fill up with more data than I could read. But instead, its like Amateur open-mike night everytime somone says anything. With that being said, I agree the list was weak. If things are said that are SO obvious to seemingly everyone, why exactly do we need to take the time to point it out? But that's the point. With all of us here, why don't we shore it up instead of tear it down?

So here's one. SIT FRED JACKSON.

In the last 5 games against the Jets, FJAX has not scored a single TD nor toped 90 yards. He did have a decent game last year with ~12 PPR points, but outside that he has hit in the 5-7 point range each game.
