Week 1 Venting Thread (1 Viewer)

So far I have the 2nd most points in my league (12 teams).

I'm playing the guy that has the most. :hifive:

I'm in decent shape though. I still have 85, Crayton, and Shane Graham. He only has Fitzerald left.

Chis Brown...who knew? :excited: YA..he's sitting on my bench!
Ditto, except I have him in two leagues, and he rode the pine in both.
Deion Branch-Thanks, You are a dog with fleas!
I didn't see this game, did they even throw the ball to him?
Well, I'm in the same boat. I put Jones-Drew in and benched Brown....boy did I pay for that.Branch started for me on the same team, the problem is that not only did he not score points for me, his backup is Greg Jennings, so I'm going to have to figure out a solution to that.Steven Jackson was practically a no-show for me.Drew Brees and Vince Young are starters on two of my teams, and they didn't impress me too much.Even the team I have LT on didn't do so well. I feel like I have solid teams, and have had others say the same, but you wouldn't know it by looking at my numbers. It's just the first week though, so maybe the guys will get in the groove next weekend.Norm

Adrian "Been on my bench All Day" Peterson ;)

Here's to Jacobs or Willis coming up huge so I maintain my lead

You can close this Link now because I have had the worst luck of anyone this week. I am defending champ in my league and usually finish Top 3 but woe is me when you see what I put up with today. I have Rivers (0pts), Brees (-2pts), LJ (8pts), Norwood (few pts), Hackett (got hurt but returned and didn't do much), and Owen Daniels (1pt). The only positives I had today were #3WR Marshall had TD, Hanson kicked 3 FG, and Def had a couple pts. I do have Owens and Heap left but opponent has Romo and J. Jones. Oh, I happen to be playing the owner with Harrison, Moss, and Gates. It's a keeper league, that is why he has Gates. In other league, I have McNabb and LJ hooking me up. I am officially writing off this week. I did it to myself when I swore I would trade my fantasy success for a Bronco victory when they were losing. Oh Well! ;)

my biggest venting moment is on the people who advised everyone in the lee evens thread not to bench him...

at that point i was considering playing b. edwards....

everyone in that thread was saying 'start evans, he's a stud wr... don't you read articles by blah blah blah'

this morning i had a gut feeling i should start curry

i even moved evans out and put curry in for about 20 minutes and then switched him back...

all because the words from this board were echoing in my head...

as i said in the ronald curry thrread... you can throw all the statistics at me you want - i will not abide by the 'play your studs' rule over my gut ever again...

luckily i had gates and a. johnson to beat my opponent (almost by themselves)

I'd say my backfield is in trouble. Jacobs and Caddy both hurt (my backups). Parker by all accounts should have had a bigger day. Henry pulled out of the game a couple of times nicked up.

And of course TO is invisible.

Oh, well. :(

League 1 - Started - B Jacobs, B Edwards and Crayton (still playing so could get some love still with him) - A peterson and Calvin on my bench

League 2 - Again B Edwards with Calvin on the bench, Bush

Bulger in three leagues, not bad but not stellar.

On to week 2

Let me thank Larry Johnson for his stellar 8-point performance today.

Oh, and a thank you D.J. Hackett for being generous enough to give me a nice ZERO.

I STARTED REGGIE BROWN OVER PLAXICO BURRESS
Ouch.I started Plax over Adrian Peterson in my flex. Unfortunately, my two RBs were Bush and Parker while AP sat on my bench.I also started Hasselbeck over Roethlisberger. :goodposting:BTW, the guy I'm playing has Addai, AJ, Brady, and the Chargers D.

I was somewhat pleased with the effort that my young team made in week 1. My QBs totally stunk it up (VY, Favre) and my Receivers besides of Laveranues Coles were almost non existent. (Vince Jackson and Isaac Bruce)... but anyway... i didn't expect to win because the other guy has LDT, Gates, TO, LJ, Andre Johnson, Fitz, Boldin on his team... this guy is nearly unbeatable...

Looking forward to week 2... :bag:

In my PPR league:

I started Cadillac over Lamonth Jordan
started Reggie Bush :bag:
Shaun McDonald got more Kitna love than Roy Williams  And my opponent started Tom Brady, Chris Brown, Torry Holt, and Randy Moss.

Thank God this is just week one.

:bag: Seriously, don't hate the player, hate the game
Oh, I hate the game.I went into last night's game with a 47 point lead and Jeremy Shockey yet to play.... well thanks to the combination of Plaxico Burress and Jason Witten, I am now down my 5 - ugh.

Die-hard Giant fan here. Up by 40 headin into last night's game. My opponent (who is also a die-hard G-men fan) trots out Romo, Owens, Witten and Barber!!! Holy christ....it couldn't have gone any more wrong for me!!! I am now down by 30...yes, a 70 point swing from one game!!! This one might scar me for a long time.... :bag:

The heralded Dallas Defense. Might be top 5 WORST defenses in the NFL, with or without Newman.

Lets cover Plax with a 3rd string CB. Then play off him 5 yards at the 5 yard line. That was a GIMME as Madden said... UHHH DUHHH. Dallas STINKS. Offense loooks primed but there defense looked atrocious!

I have a good shot at winning still, but I was in the lead by 11 going into last nights game and now I trail by 15... thats f'n CRAZY.

DALLAS YOU SUCK!

Bill Belichick. On the Pats' first possession, Maroney has 6 carries for 30 yards. So what does Belichick do? Pull him for Sammy Morris the next two possessions. Then after that, every time Maroney is actually in for a play, the Jets overplay the run and Maroney gets stacked up, running for 42 yards on 14 carries the rest of the way. Plus, when the Pats have the ball on the Jets' 1, Belichick runs Heath Evans not once, but twice.

Belichick does know that Sammy Morris is a 30-year old career backup, right? I took Maroney over Travis Henry specifically to avoid getting burned by coach's whim.

I started:

McNabb Over Cutler

SJax and Cadillac over Adrian Peterson (C Benson did a piss poor job on my bench too)

Shockey over Jason Witten

:wall:

MJD, Maroney, Cooley

BOOOOOOOO Get your stuff together

Meanwhile I had Peterson riding the bench

Left LaMont Jordan on the bench in favor of Donald Driver (flex). Good news is that move didn't cost me the game as I got Tony Romo'd big-time.

I lost by 1 point because first Heap gets called for a horrible offensive interference call. Then drops a pass in the endzone that hits him in the chest. I'd trade Heap for about a nickel right now. I'm so glad I only have that piece of garbage on one team.

:wall:

One of my teams blew up this week for 160 and I'm going to lose. Neither one of us will probably score as high again. Always seem to run bad this way.

I'm in 3 leagues and my matchup in all 3 of them had Romo. :lmao: My annual injury bug kicked in with B. Jacobs and Hackett going out and E. Manning may or may not have some issue with his shoulder.

All I need is 70 yards or a TD out of D. Jackson for the win. Of course I stay up all night waiting and on the last play of the game he recovers A. Battle's fumble in the endzone. Of course instead of being a TD and giving me the win by rule the ball comes out to the 1 yard line and then Battle runs it in on the next play. I don't really mind losing as much as staying up until 12:40 watching a suck game on CBS gamecenter. That's a waste of 3 1/2 hours I'll never get back. I feel sorry for anyone else who has 49'ers on their roster, it's going to be a long hard year.

Lost by .36 points. Would've won with a Stover xp on the TD called back by horrible horrible reffing. Worse offensive PI call than DJax. Also would've won but I got bumped offline before my pick and it gave me SF D instead of GB D which would've given me the win.

I'm doing a new thing this year where I'm not checking out ff scores during the games, it's been much more enjoyable thus far. But losing by .36 sucks!!!! Here's to a stat change tomorrow!!!

PPR league, needed 20 pts between Leinart and Fitz in the last game.Lost by less than 2.Dropping Leinart for Grossman tomorrow.Seriously though... need a new QB option.

So I had to face both Plaxico Burress & Andre Johnson in my 10 team IDP dynasty this week (very receiving heavy).....

Also left ADP on the bench along with Patrick Willis. If I'd played either I would have won.

Somewhere around the 2 minute warning, I needed 2 points from either Gore or Boldin to win. Gore drops one that hits him in the hands, 49ers keep him on the sidelines for the TD run, and Leinart stays with the theme and throws it to the other team.

Game over. 2nd in total points in my entire league and lose week 1 to Ronald Curry (this guy drafted Curry in the 15th round and started him over L. Coles... nothing surprises me anymore).

If you couldn't tell... I'm mad about it.
