Week 11 Waiver Wire Defense (1 Viewer)

Not being a homer but Packers vs. the Giants. Depending on your league scoring the Giants are likely Top 3-5 in terms of most points allowed to opposing fantasy defenses. Raiders got a TD on them yesterday.

Giants vs GB

Buf vs NYJ? The game is a pick'em with o/u 41.5

Both ATL and TB are available, that game also has a low o/u at 43 and is also coincidentally a pick-em.

I've been using Carolina since week 5, but New England coming off a bye might be a bridge too far. I've seen Houston dropped in 2 leagues--justifiably so, because they haven't been as impressive as their rep this season--and would call them a strong bounce back choice against a banged up Pryor or one of the Raiders' awful backups.

Lacking that, I think either side of Bills/Jets could get you 8-10 points: 3-4 sacks, a couple of TOs.

Even though Tenn burned me this week against Jags, I'm going with AZ against them this week.

AZ also has a pretty decent rest of the way

Stevie Johnson said he might not be going on Sunday. One less option for NYJ to focus on--might be looking that way.
Johnson and Woods are both iffy. The Bills would be smart to sit Spiller since he's clearly laboring.

If the Jets were at home I'd be all over them this week. But the matchup is starting to trend a bit in their favor.

I'm currently rolling with NYJ vs BuF while the Chiefs ride the pine this week.
I'm wondering what to do in this situation too. I know its Denver, but can you really sit the Chiefs D this week? They've been by far the best fantasy defense this year, it would be tough to bench them, although they heavne't really played an offense like Denvers.

I wouldnt i Know when i read blooms column a few weeks in a row, whoever the Broncos played on d had put up good numbers.

Picked up Houston last week and while they were so so vs ARI Im holding them two more weeks for home matchups vs OAK & JAX

really? That seems odd to me. I haven't looked, but I can't imagine all those teams that Peyton threw 0 interceptions on, and put up a ton of points on offense on, would have much defensive scoring at all

If you had KC and SF D would you have the guts to play one this week or which would you drop for WW Defense.

Indianapolis (vs Denver) - 4 sacks, 1 INT, 2 FR, 1 safety

For the second week in a row, playing the D/ST facing the Broncos ended up being profitable. This is getting weird.

Jacksonville (at Denver) - 1 INT, 2 FR, 1 DEF TD

If you saw this coming, I’d like to borrow your crystal ball for this week.

these were the 2 i was talking about.. so obviously its a small sampee, but neither one of those defense is great and they were good against the broncos.. so unless i had a great second opinion i dont think I personally would go out of my way to not start the chiefs against them.

Because sure they will give up points, but a handful of sacks, maybe a turnover or 2 and it could turn into an adequate day

At this point, I'm rolling with CAR 'til week 14. Other considerations:
Wish I could trust IND, since Ten/Ari/Ten looks nice (and maybe Cin & Hou too). As mentioned, HOU looks like they have (at least) two good weeks ahead. NYJ is real tempting the rest of the season too (Buf/Bal/Mia/Oak/Car/Cle).

Taking one side of the BUF / NYJ game and then rolling with CLE and KC rest of way

ETA: 75 of Manuel's 155 passing yards came in garbage time with less than 5 minutes to play. He probably won't be forced to throw a lot against a sub-par Jets offense, but the Jets can obviously stuff the run so I feel comfortable starting them against Manuel.

I picked up the Giants this past week, fully expecting to drop them. I think I'm going to hang on though, as the Packers matchup looks juicy.

Plus, the Giants have scored 19, 22, and 22 in their past three games in my league. Best in the league.

My def is KC

Looking at my WW i see

SD

DEN

Texans

ARI

I mite roll with Tex or ARI ( IT so hard to bench KC thought )

I'm torn on the Chiefs D. I know that Denver offense is going to score points, but the Chiefs have been so good all year. Is it really that much better for me to bench the Chiefs when the options are Buffalo vs. the Jets or NO vs. the 49ers?

Just seems like overthinking this could backfire, though I'm still listening to other opinions.

Agree on the Giants. They are going to make life miserable for J.R.R. Tolzien.
I like the Giants as well...that is a definite possibility for me.

I love the Panthers defense, but really, against NE? Although that was my reaction before this past Sunday vs. SF. I just don't know about the Panthers, though they have done so well recently. And outside of NE, Week 12 (Miami) and Week 13 (TB) look like terrific matchups. I am just having trouble pulling the trigger on Carolina vs. NE.

CLE @ Cin???

Dalton has 7 turnovers in the past 2 games....

Browns held Bengals to 6pts (in Cleveland tho) in week 3

Coming off a bye....

I know betting against the Chiefs hasn't been very profitable this season, but Denver at home fired up to take on an undefeated division rival that could be without their main WR is intriguing to me.

I have the Giants and plan on hanging on to them, but I see the Jets sitting on the wire and really want to grab them. With the Bills possibly being without Stevie Johnson and Robert Woods, and playing against the #1 run defense in the league, things are setup for a huge DST performance from the Jets.

Grabbed ARI and CLE as people dropped them during byes -- off the weekly bandwagon for now as they're schedules are relatively complimentary through the playoffs.

ARI vs JAX for me...

Yes. I was planning on snatching up Buffalo, but the Bills offense made a crappy Steelers' D look pretty stellar. I'm staying on that train and riding the Jets this week.

Sitting Carolina and snagging NYJ. Could backfire but too worried about NE scoring - my league allows for negative points

sticking with Texans. they barely allow any yards and Raiders have looked awful recently and Pryor (who gives up lots of points on his own) is limited so we could see McGloin's first serious action.

Yahoo has Green Bay projected to score zero points this week.

Giants are looking better, but better enough to have Green Bay tied with the last place Bucs in the projections?

NYG for me as well.

They have looked much better since getting Beason in at LB, are at home against a guy starting his first game at QB.

If you factor in the Vegas lines at all in your decision making they certainly are loving the Giants. Only Denver and Arizona are favored by more points this week.
