Playoffs start next week in most leagues, but some teams must win this week to make it in. Which players could help teams win who normally aren't must starts or may even be available on the WW? I'm liking:
QB: Sam Bradford - Playing against the 27th worst pass defense in the league Arizona and has been on point the last four weeks. A healthy Danario Alexander could provide a legit #1 WR and Sjax could have a big day with some dump offs.
QB: Kerry Collins - Isn't great but can still get the job done and has a good matchup against the Jags. Although its unlikely, Kenny Britt has a chance to play, and if he does, Collins will have some dangerous weapons in Chris Johnson, Randy Moss, and Kenny Britt against the 30th worst pass defense. Randy Moss isn't dead, Collins just needs to get him the ball.
WR: Mario Manningham - With Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith out, Manningham will be Manning's best option and has proved his talents multiple times. A matchup against Washington allowing the 4th most points to Wide Receivers also helps.
WR: Danario Alexander* - Apart from everyone loving his story, the guy has a ton of talent and everyone on the team knows it. Arizona has allowed the 25th most points to receivers this year and will likely focus on stopping Steven Jackson and Danny Amendola, allowing Alexander who can do it all to run free with Sam Bradford who has been playing very well in recent games.
WR: Steve Smith CAR - He is still one of the best receivers in the league, but unfortunately had a struggling rookie throwing to him. Although you can't expect Clausen to set any records today, he should only improve each week and is going against the team allowing the most points to to QBs/WRs in the last four weeks.
RB: Mike Hart - Check to see if he plays, but he looked great before going down with an ankle injury. Donald Brown hasn't done a thing, so the feature roll is waiting for Hart. The Colts will put up points against Dallas, and need to get their run game going.
RB: Anthony Dixon - His matchup against GB isn't anything to get excited about, but SF may have only leaned on Westbrook Monday night because of his experience. Brian did look great, but until that game Dixon was thought to be Gore's handcuff, so this week will be very telling. Apart from Westbrook's injury history, Dixon should at least be the guy scoring the touchdowns. Dixon may end up being the back everyone should have rushed to pick up.
TE: Andrew Quarless - Hasn't done much, but he is the starting Tight End with a QB who could potentially put up the biggest stats this weekend. He's definitely a reach, but a few people with make some big plays for Greenbay today.
K: Josh Brown: Arizona has allowed the most points to kickers, he had three last weekend and STL is likely to light up the scoreboard against a bad AZ defense.
K: Nate Kaeding - He may still be available because of the missed time, but is apart of a great offense and has a good matchup today. Five field goals against the Colts last weekend isn't bad.
DE: STL Rams - Have quietly been good this year and have a great matchup against Arizona today.
DE: Indianapolis - The Cowboys have been playing better, but still giving up the 4th most PPG to defenses and Kitna can throw picks with the best of them, and shouldn't be able to escape a motivated Colts D-Line.
*My call for next weeks #1 Waiver Wire pick up.
