Week 14 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (3 Viewers)

Reasking this because it looks like Trey Benson is trending out in Arizona leaving the door open for Zonovan and Carter again.

My RB situation this week is brutal (CMC, Rico & Henderson/Rhamondre on the bye) leaving me with ETN and C.Rodriguez

Full PPR:
Zonovan v LAR
Carter v LAR
Rodriguez @ MIN

I have Rodriguez in ATM because it's a better matchup but Zonovan is getting fed a decent amount of touches and has TDs in three straight against three very good rush Ds. He also sees a few targets per game which, Rodriguez does not.

Zonavan & hope for 13 pts.

@Chaka - did your League involving WDIDrop (Zay v BTJr) run waivers yet?

...and anyone with decisions involving Colts/Jags players...I'm a big fan of Jim Coventry, and was just listening to him on the RotoWire show on Sirius/XM...they were saying that there's a 95% chance of not just rain, but *heavy* rain, during the game. Torrential rain.

From a betting standpoint, which colors a lot of my FF decisions, that game opened at 49.5, has steadily dropped down to 47 at some outlets and bettors are still hammering the under.

It's shaping up to be a super-sloppy, low play count, slugfest, if I'm reading things correctly, not much of a trove of statistical output from anyone on either Team.

JMHO

I'm in a position where all of my RB's are on a Week 14 bye (both CAR backs plus Tracy from NYG). I need to pick up one of the following for just this week. 1/2 PPR scoring for RB's.

Spears @ CLE... Since Week 6 he's averaging about 7.5 PPG in this scoring format. CLE defense scares me a bit, but maybe that means more dump-offs to Spears?
T Johnson vs CIN... About 7 PPG the last 5 weeks. Could be a high-scoring game where he breaks one.
M Carter vs LAR... About 7 PPG the last 3 weeks in which he's actually led the team in RB snaps. Would only consider if Benson AND Demercado are both OUT again.

Who has the most upside?

Anyone willing to start Teslaa this week? I would need 2 of the players below.

.5ppr Flex need 2. (Starting Bowers at TE, Warren would be my 2nd TE)

Tyler Warren @ JAC
Devin Neal @ TB
Chris Rodriguez @ MIN
Pat Bryant @ LV
Teslaa v DAL
Warren for sure,not even close
Then?
Maybe
Rodriguez
But it's close

Think I go with Knight but Rodriguez close behind and wouldn't fault you for sticking with him. Knight has seen quite a lot of short passing usage and is seemingly trusted quite a bit. Rams are tough and score a lot and so Brissett will be throwing plenty and he can't heave it downfield on every play so I could see quite a bit of short passing.

1-2-2-flex PPR - Bold are currently starting

QB: Pick 1
Herbert vs PHI
Brissett vs LAR

RB: Pick 1
Hunt vs HOU
Hampton vs PHI

WR: Pick 1
McLaurin vs MIN
London vs SEA
Higgins vs BUF

Other starters are B Hall RB, Jefferson WR, Rice WR

2 QBs superflex, 6 pt passing TDs

QB Mariota @ Min & Caleb Williams @ GB
Vs (Or) MCarthy vs Was, Ward @ Cle, Tagliavooa @ NYJ

I don’t think I have much choice here. Passed on Tyrod Taylor.

Need 1 QB (4 points passing TD, 6 points running TD).

I have Goff and Burrow, but Brissett and Mayfield are available. Who would you start?

Many thanks for your guidance!

This is more of who do I drop. I've been carrying all these back up RBs just waiting, but now I have to get rid of one for the rest of the year to get the roster set for playoff seeding and playoffs.

Spears
Tuten
Allegier

My gut says Tuten.

No
My concern might be a limited number of snaps
I'd watch the pregame
And if you hear a comment like "No limitations" or "Full go"
I don't hesitate
If you hear a comment like "We'll see how it goes"
Then you have to decide if the risk is worth it
Good luck

I need one TE in 1PPR.

Kelce - KC vs Hou
Warren - IND @ JAC
It's very close. I think the return of Rashee has helped Kelce, particularly near the GL but, it is a brutal matchup. Warren hasn't found the endzone nearly as much lately but he's still a prime target and has a much better matchup.

I think it really bears watching the inactive list for KC. They could be down three starters on the OL. They will definitely not have their LT (IR) and may be down their RT (Jawaan Taylor) and their best OL, RG Trey Smith. If all three of those guys are out I smash start Warren. If Taylor and Smith both play, it's a little closer and becomes a tough call

Tough call but, I lean

Warren>Kelce

I need to win

WR Shakir vs CIN Sun
or
Teslaa vs DAL tonight
PPR?

I'm not willing to put Teslaa in even if ARSB is out. I just don't see the target upside there and Shakir, while frustratingly uneven with target share still has 10 target upside and probably 6 target realistic downside. Shakir also has a better matchup.

Shakir>Teslaa

It looks like Trey Benson is going to miss another game (trust but verify). I think he is in a similar situation to Spears but, on a better offense and they both have rough matchups. I am surprised to see Ty Johnson averaged 7 ppg over the last 5 in your format because he's seeing the least opps. My guess is the Bucs game is skewing that a bit. It is a great matchup but, he's more of an afterthought in that offense.

Carter>Spears>Johnson

PPR?

Hopefully ARSB makes the decision easy and sits tonight. I worry about his effectiveness if he starts. There was a post in his thread by Faust talking about the nature of the low ankle sprain and, while it heals quicker than mid or high ankle sprains it is very difficult to meaningfully tape it up or use an insert. Planting should be significantly hindered and the risk of reinjury is significant.

But, if ARSB is playing it's hard to justify benching him even with the risk.

The reality is Justin Jefferson has done pretty much nothing since Wentz was under center and, that was forever ago. He's the guy I'd bench if you can't bring yourself to sit ARSB...

...oh wait, DK also hasn't done anything in over a month and, Rodgers is popping off on his pass catchers. Does that lead to an implosion or a rebound? IDK. Weather doesn't look like it's going to be an issue in Baltimore. Cloudy, low chance of precipitation and winds under 10mph ATM.

I definitely start AJB. He's the no-brainer of this group.

I also start Jamo as a hedge against ARSB being ineffective and he's the most likely to salvage a down day with a big play. Remember, he had strong games in 3 of 4 before ARSB got hurt. The 4th game was a big fat zero but, still he is being involved in the offense even when ARSB is right.

AJB>Jamo>ARSB>DK>JJ

The las three are essentially interchangeable but, IF IT'S PPR, ARSB is still probably good for 5 catches (on the low end).

Waller @ NYJ
Kincaid vs CIN
Uhhhhhhhhh... yes?

Probably Kincaid. They both have good matchups and, Waller may be a bigger factor near the GL but, Kincaid has the better QB and is on the better offense.

With these two, you're just hoping to get lucky.

Kincaid>Waller

1-2-2-flex PPR - Bold are currently starting

Brissett vs LAR

RB: Pick 1
Hunt vs HOU
Hampton vs PHI

WR: Pick 1
McLaurin vs MIN
London vs SEA
Higgins vs BUF

Agree across the board.

Toughest call is benching Higgins but, McLaurin saw 14 freaking targets last week and looked great so, if you miss it will still have been the right decision IMO.

Need to start 3 of these 5 WRs: PPR league

T Higgins at BUF (assuming he's cleared)
McConkey vs PHI
Pittman at JAX
M Wilson vs LAR
A Mitchell vs MIA
I bench Wilson and Mitchell and don't really think twice about it.

Wilson has a tough matchup and is maybe the 2B target in that offense. And I'm not trusting Mitchell after one game on a bad offense with a mediocre QB.

Higgins>Pittman>McConkey>Mitchell>Wilson

ETA @fightingillini MHJ is out this week. Since they both have tough matchups I lean towards the potential volume upside

Higgins>Wilson>Pittman>McConkey>Mitchell

Vs (Or) MCarthy vs Was, Ward @ Cle, Tagliavooa @ NYJ

Definitely yes Mariota. Absolutely not Ward or McCarthy.

It's closer between Tua and Caleb because of the matchups. I have trouble trusting Caleb ATM. He doesn't make a lot of mistakes but, he also isn't making a ton of big plays (or even medium plays). I also think going into GB in such a big game... well I don't know what to think after they went into Phili and won but, I still think GB takes control of the division this week.

If Chicago wins Ben Johnson should be coach of the year for life.

It is close between the bottom two but

Mariota>Tua>Caleb

I start Burrow pretty easily. He's just so much better than everyone else on the list. All his receivers are healthy and... it's Burrow. None of your options has his upside.

Burrow>Brissett>Goff>Baker

Spears

Tuten? Interesting. I would drop Spears and not think twice. I always view this as which guy would be on the best/worst offense if they had to step into the lead role?

To me, it's Spears pretty easily. I know he has had some standalone value with his 6 targets and 24 receiving yards but, he has zero upside IMO even if he is the lead back. It is literally the worst offense in the league in yardage and PPG.

In order of who I would drop

Spears>>>Allegier>Tuten

After logging his first Wednesday practice since coming back from injury, Lamar Jackson was DNP today.

4pt passing TD, 6pt rushing TD:

Lamar v PIT
D.Jones @ JAX

The rain situation in Jacksonville is shaping up to be severe but, wind doesn't look like an issue.

I'm really targeting a big game and was going with Lamar after he logged a practice yesterday but, now... IDK

Yes, Johnson's scores have the most variance. He had one week for like 15 pts that really skewed his average over that period.

excellent, thanks!

If I start ARSB, who do I bench? Chaka suggested benching JJ, which is a bummer considering how good he is

Big FFPC League Playoff match this week, $ on the line, plus qualifying for the Championship Round...

Of course, CMC on bye, and my opponent has plenty of horses. I have both Omarion and Vidal, with JCarter out for the Eagles, hoping I can read the tea leaves on that situation clearly enough by Monday night, as one of my Flex spots.

Current Starting Lineup includeds Hurts, Bucky, JWarren, RRice, Ferguson and, very likely, Omarion.

The remaining 2 slots (1WR, 1Flex) come from a WR pool that includes:

Isaac TeSlaa vs Cowboys (tonight)

Christian Watson vs Bears
Devaughn Vele @ Buccaneers

DJ Moore @ Packers

I picked up TeSlaa and Vele last night in FAAB (dropped Jeudy and Dike) - both to block my opponent from acquiring either and using them against me (he has WR issues, also), as well as, in Vele's case, as a potential Championship Round play ... I see TeSlaa as a 1-week guy (tonight), however...

...if A-RSt.B *does* suit up tonight, I'm *not* playing TeSlaa, no matter what Amon-Ra's role winds up being ... and if I *don't* start him, I'll be able to FAAB my way into Pat Bryant (drop TeSlaa) on Saturday night, which might be as good, or better a Championship Round play, than Vele.

So, if A-RSt.B is *out* tonight, it's a lot more tempting to start him over Watson or Vele (I'm not considering DJM at all this week), but starting him tonight would negate my ability to drop him and pick up the better long-play, Pat Bryant). I literally don't have another cuttable Player on my Roster...unless I cut DJ to acquire Pat Bryant, and I don't think I'm inclined to do that.

Thoughts about TeSlaa (only if A-RSt.B sits) vs Watson vs Vele ?

...with the caveat that sitting TeSlaa allows me to pick up Pat Bryant during Sat PM FAAB?

TIA

GB D v CHI
LAR D @ ARI

Leaning GB but, they're both good options.

Flex PPR:
GB D v CHI
LAR D @ ARI.
Zay v PIT
T.Franklin @ LVR

Struggling with this. I need a big time home run. I am leaning towards benching Franklin. I hate to bench anyone against the Raiders but, Franklin came down to earth last week and, Evan Engram came to life. Is that the new normal?
I'd go LAR D. I think they rebound after crapping the bed. I bet Ben Johnson tries to run, run, run.

Watch out for P. Bryant hammy today. If he's out or limited, that puts T. Franklin back in the mix in a great matchup.
