Week 14 Waiver Wire Thread (1 Viewer)

Ricky Williams possibly?
how come?
Great running game.Good playoff schedule against the run.Primary backup who by all accounts still has the skills to produce if Rice gets hurt.
Ok thats fair. I didn't know if there was some sort of injury i hadn't heard. As for yesterday though, i dont really see Ricky getting 16 carries again. He is solely a backup unless Rice is injured. His 16 carries yesterday are probably duoble what hes had in his last 3 games combined and easily the most in one game on the season. It was a fluky workload is what I am saying.

I think that's probably accurate but it is a pre-empitive pickup, not a guy to plug into your lineup this week. If Rice gets hurt, it will likely be too late to grab Ricky.

Marion Barber long gone in my leagues. Anything we saw from Kahlil Bell that merits a pickup?

Available in my league:

Knox, Jacoby Jones.

Don't know if this is common, but in my leagues, the commish locks out anyone dropped after wk 12, so the waiver wire is just about a wasteland. A lot of teams add/drop guys just to lock out the wire. It's pretty bare about now.

Kyle Rudolph (TE, Minn.) and Anthony Fasano (TE, Miami) are starting to emerge and are likely available.

It's a pure coincidence that I am a Notre Dame homer and pimping for these guys.

fwiw:i didn't catch the game but was listening to Jeff Dickerson- local beat reporter covering the bears all year- on the local ESPN radio here in Chicago. Dickerson said that Barber doesn't have that burst any longer but it was obvious that bell does. he called barber a glorified FB really at this point in his career. bell might be a better fit in the offense than barber.

Per Rotoworld: Coach Lovie Smith hinted that the Bears will use a two-back committee until Matt Forte returns from his right MCL sprain."(Marion Barber) is a different running back than Matt Forte," explained Smith. "Kahlil (Bell) can probably do more of the things that Matt Forte does." It sounds like Bell will be the sort of "satellite" back, handling passing-down snaps and perimeter runs, while Barber gets a bump in playing time on inside carries. Barber is the preferred fantasy waiver pickup, but neither will be a safe bet for more than 14-16 weekly touches. From watching the games, I sort of thought this would happen. Not good if you handcuffed Forte with Barber.
