Week 16 RB Savior (1 Viewer)

Grant confirmed as the starter. Not sure I'd take the chance on Harris now..
I wouldn't let that sway you since this should have been expected all along. Grant will likely start and I'd expect him to lead the RBs in touches today. But Harris will be involved. The question is how much will his role grow? Seems likely it will grow in some fashion with Green out but how much is the question. He clearly has more burst and speed than Grant does and the coaching staff wants to take advantage of it. But it's going to come down to how well he can handle all of his assignments. That's what they've been working hardest with him on.
If he does well in pass pro at the beginning, it's my guess he is rewarded with the 2nd half, clock grinding touches.
I think Grant will be the closer. If I decide to start Harris - which I'm leaning toward doing right now - I'm hoping for a screen pass or two and 10-12 carries. That will lessen the potential damage if he doesn't score in PPR. I really think he needs to score to justify starting him.

Do you feel lucky? If you think it's gonna be a blowout, Harris is a decent play.

Do you feel lucky?
My luck has been awful lately which is one reason I'm even considering Harris in Week 16. But I am willing to take on the risk that Harris does nothing in order to gamble that he hits. It's a major gamble in my opinion but one I'm prepared to make. One good thing with Harris is last week the Packers opened the second half by essentially giving Harris an entire series. He was the lead back with Green coming in on passing downs. But as Aikman said they only trusted him with a select number of plays but it was clear they felt enough confidence in him then to give him an entire series as the No. 1 RB and that was in a close game against a good run defense. That's definitely positive. Hopefully he had a good week of practice and the coaches are increasing the number of plays they will entrust to him.

Good luck to you, friend!

Well you sorta got it right, more that you backed into the prediction compared to what you were predicting.

Harris was the #2 RB, saw very little of the field, and luckily got a 8 yard TD run otherwise he wasn't probably getting another chance.

However if you went with Grant you ended up with the 80 yards and 2 TDs. In the end if your in a playoff league Harris will be a great buy low but he won't see RB1 carries probably at least until the playoffs.

It is what it is. He was an RB3 or flex play, outscoring Ridley and tying Adrian Peterson (cherry picking my data, I know). I certainly didn't get it right but I don't think I got it 100% wrong either.

Just curious, what was your guys reasoning in starting Grant over Harris? What did I miss? Of course they reported that Grant would 'start' but that wasn't even true as Harris was on the field for the first play, which I expected.
The first was that Grant was getting the start and then there was the fact that the week prior Grant wasn't benched after rumbling which showed McCarthy's trust in him. And finally Rotowire.com's report:
Running backs coach Alex Van Pelt called Grant a "pounding back" and indicated that his playing time could increase as the temperature drops. However, Van Pelt also said that Grant will only see "spot duty" this week, so his immediate value is very limited. With only four weeks left in the regular season there won't be much time to ease Grant back into things, but he could be worth a speculative stash if you've got your eye on a friendly Week 16 matchup against Tennessee.
And my other options weren't great, Montell Owens and Jeremy Kerley since I lost both McGahee and Harvin to injuries and spent most of my auction budget on my starters. So I figured that I'd go with the RB playing in a great offense with a good matchup.

Hmmm...well, good on you, sir. Glad it worked out for you and those who started Harris out of desperation.

I'll take the TD but it sucks I sat him for Thomas. I knew Harris was a major gamble so no one to blame but myself. Still sucks.

I expected Grant to be the lead RB and he was. I'm surprised he went off like he did. But he's looked good since coming back and if Green is out again next Sunday I expect him to be the primary RB once again.
