Week 16 WW Defense Thread (1 Viewer)

Lots of good discussion for week 15, but time to stash just in case

I think these two look best:

SD (@NYJ)

WASH (@PHI)

Also possible:

CAR (OAK)

AZ (CHI)

Not sure I can trust the Skins defense, even tho Philly is a turnover machine.

Pickings are pretty slim next week, in my 14 teamer I'm considering the Colts if I make it past this week.

New England got dumped before the HOU game in a lot of leagues. They're a great bet, if they haven't already been snatched up.

I nabbed Warshington this morning. No-brainer. Even if you don't use them, you can't just leave them dangling out there...only to have it bite you in the ###.

I'm thinking either BUF @ MIA or IND vs. KC. Or I might just stick with my Bengals DST. I don't think I can trust WAS @ PHI. Matter of fact, I barely trust BUF or IND, but that's really all that's available.

I'm debating between Washington and Cincinnati myself, going to see how big ben plays this week and decide from there.

This weekly defense based on matchup has been glorious....based on the weekly thread here are my results since week 8 (when I started). I am doing this next year as well.

12 pts - WK 8 - Packers vs Jags

06 pts - WK 9 - Lions vs Jags

16 pts - WK 10- Colts vs Jags

10 pts - WK 11- Bengals vs Chiefs

19 pts - WK 12- Rams vs Arz

10 pts - WK 13- Bengals vs SD

15 pts - WK 14- Browns vs Chiefs

17 pts - WK 15- Bengals vs Eagles (already this week)

I have done this by basically picking up the Bengals mid season seeing that they had some good matchups coming, and then I used another roster spot to pick a different defense when I didn't want to play them. Double digits every week but week 9.

Weeks 16: (based on who is on my wavier wire)

Colts @ KC - I have already picked this D up....KC will be without D.Bowe and let's face it, their only offense is Jamal Charles. The colts worry me a bit because their defense is very average to below average, but they have been opportunistic here of late turning some turnovers into scores, and that is something KC is good at...giving up turnovers.

Den vs Cle - Somehow Denver is on my wavier wire (it looks like they are owned over 90% in ESPN leagues). I might consider picking them up as a block. Cleveland scares me a bit having a pretty good RB and some big play guys. Den is playing at home which makes it more tempting.

Matchup I don't like:

Was @ Phi- We have seen what Foles and Bryce Brown can do to bad defenses, and Washington isn't a good defense. I think this one looks better on paper than it is in reality. I think Philly in a division game hangs with Washington and puts some points up (much like they did with Dallas a few weeks back).

:goodposting:

I think some may actually dump the Seahawks because they are at home against the 49ers and go with one of the choices listed above.

I think they will be pumped up with that home advantage and the division on the line, but it may be hard to force the 49ers into any big mistakes even if they beat them.

I may need to stash those Chargers while I mull this one over

They beat Phil 31-6 a few weeks ago and forced 3 turnovers. With the exception of the Dallas game (where they held a big lead at half), they have been playing well.

I have Cincy and have just grabbed Indy.

Washington on the WW as well, so I may grab them, if only to keep them out of my opponent's hands.

Grabbed the Colts in both my playoff leagues. Colts D isn't that good, but just go check out how they fared against JAX a few weeks ago. Next week I will have to debate playing GB/TEN or Ind/KC in one league. Looking at Ind/KC or NE/Jax in the other.

Green Bay Packers all the way!
Are they not being mentioned because they are owned in most leagues?Going against Tennessee at home and Clay Matthews is back.
Not sure. I just picked them up this morning. I will use them in the 3rd place or championship game. I was wondering myself why they were not getting mentioned. Will be nice if they have Woodson and Matthews back for week 16.

I just picked them up yesterday and will use them in the 3rd place or championship game as well. Here's hoping we both use them in the championship. Good Luck today.

I think that's the reason they're not being mentioned more. They were available in my league, and I picked them up last night for next week's match-up.
Nice! So, what we have learned is if Green Bay is available pick them up now before waivers hit.
