Week #2 Brain Farts (1 Viewer)

For some reason this past weekend I was in la la land while setting my lineups. Some rather dumb moves I made

Brought up Ryan Longwell from PS to start him, but did I actually put him in my lineup? I don't think so. Lost by 2 points

Going through and pulling all of my Texans and Ravens due to cancellation. Pulled em all right? Checked 3 times right?

Nope, Owen Daniels with the big Goose Egg, lost by 7 points. My other TE? Alge Crumpler...9 points

and then I wont even get into my Derrick Harvey/Quentin Groves identity waiver claim issue :goodposting:

Anyone else got some funny?

Again, first time using this :ptts: but it seems like as good a time as any.

Actually, I think it's a valid topic which should be pinned as separate from venting thread, as its cartharsis for owners who know they screwed up versus whiners who were victimized.

My error appears to be not understanding the evil power of the Herminator, drafting both Bowe and Gonzo as "studs".

:ptts:

Exactly my point. These aren't really venting issues just sometimes we all do stupid things and we can laugh about them.

Not really a brain fart...but why not. More just strange occurance/dumb freakin bad luck.

Received a trade offer, it was bad. Long story short, I left my email up on my screen. My PC goes into sleep mode every hour. You have to click the mouse to disable it and bring up the screen again. So what happened? I just so happened to click on the trade "accept" button (since my email was still up) when I randomly clicked the mouse. First thing I see was the good old trade accepted screen. We have an "all transactions can be voided if you respond within 10 minutes" policy, so all is well. Both me and the trade sender actually laughed it off.

Always close your emails

How did Alge Crumpler get you 9 points on 2 catches for 16 yards?

TE's in my league get bonus points for OL.

Although there was some good solid reasoning behind it, I benched Chris Perry, and started Ronnie Brown. Reason being, Perry was up against the vaunted Titans rushing D and Brown was facing the creampuff Cardinals rush D. It turned out quite the opposite, with the Cards shutting down the Dolphins D and Perry having quite an impressive day against the Titans. Also, I started Ocho instead of Santonio Holmes because I was buying too much into all the weather stuff. Ended up losing by 20 points. :wall:

I left Brandon Marshall on my bench in favor of Dwayne Bowe and Ocho Cinco. It was a double header week and I still went 2-0 but one game was close.

What the heck is going on there in Cincy anyway?

I started McMichael over Scheffler after waiting on Scheffler to get me 17 yards to win in the final 3 quarters of week 1 vs Oakland.

I just got cold feet. Played Brees over Cutler--despite all the indicators saying that was wrong. Didn't make a difference in any case--I lost by more than the difference in their scores anyway. Betcha Cutler starts in this week's scoring fest! :wolf:

Won both games this weekend, but with regrets...

In my primary league, was all set to buck start-your-studs CW and plug in Chris Johnson over Addai and A Gonzo over Edwards. Great matchups on paper...but went back to my top two picks on Sunday morning. Oh well, I'm not going to be too upset about playing the guys I drafted as my starters.

Started Turner over Bush in my goofy IDP/KR league. Had to rely on Quintin Demps to get 137 yards in kickoff returns to pull that one out, but should have won by a country mile.

My brain fart is thinking that at some point V. Davis will be a stud, I have offically given up on him, Scheffler from here on out except for the bye week. (But that Detroit matchup this week looks juicy for Davis, huh? :suds: )

Needed a TE on Sunday monring after hearing that Owen Daniels wouldn't play. Wasn't real impressed with my backup (Zach Miller) so I went in to grab John Carlson only to find somebody picked up him on Saturday.

Had to play Miller and while checking the scores later on Sunday I had forgotten that Tony Scheffler was dropped on Wednesday and had gone through the 3 day waiver period. I could have picked him up on Sunday morning but was too focused on Carlson.

Played Fasano over Sheffler. :coffee:

Still keep playing Braylon (over Patten last week). Can't bring myself to sit him...like it's just a bad dream.

Doubled up my opponent either way w/ Cutler, Megatron, Marshall, & MBIII, but learned to leave Fasano as bye week filler.

I don't think anyone really considered Bowe a stud and I don't think his ADP would indicate otherwise. He's put up solid but unspectacular numbers thus far and as long as he's not your WR1, you should be happy with his production so far. He is currently the 14th ranked WR in non-ppr.

Benched Hines for Crayton figuring Hines was playing in 50mph hurricane remnants and Crayton was gonna play in a shootout

nailed both assumptions but ...

if this above doesn't prove that you play the better talent no matter what then I don't know what does

Playing Palmer over Eli when Palmer was not only coming off a poor week 1, but also playing in a windstorm. ;)

I still got smoked, so it didn't matter.

more whining from someone about their league I don't care about. Awesome.

Had Scheffler & McFadden in my lineup but swapped them out for Fasano & Royal after picking those guys up off waivers.

Figuring on 50 mph winds & a big 2nd half lead, I benched Ward for Mendenhall...

DUMB!!!

Won anyways, 'cause my opponent was dumber than me and left 3 starters in from Ravens/Texans.

I dumped Scheffler for Fasano!! Now I'm gripping because I'm 11th on the waiver list in a 12 team league. I hope I can get him back since there are a few WR FA available, but I doubt it.

I started Hasselbeck instead of Kitna because I figured he would light up the 49ers, injured WRs or not ... the difference between the two QBs cost me the game

I just wanted to report that I got Scheffler back. What's crazy is the guy with the 6th waiver claim took David Martin instead of Scheffler. :wolf:

I sat barber by accident on a friday, when I was playing with my lineups. Got hit by a hurricane on sat. lost electric power.

so have no power. heard the dallas game on the radio. adding barber points along the way.

come to work today to find out i didn't play barber, but instead played dwill. i know sit 0-2, instead of 1-1.

:wolf: :coffee:

I didn't dump Scheffler but I ######edly started Fasano over him and lost by 6.

Forgot to put in a waiver bid for a kicker until Thursday afternoon. Waiver end Thursday @ 12:00am.

I was afraid the Bengals would get shutout and Graham would give me a zero. At least I got 1 point....didn't matter as I lost by 20 or so.

He wasn't my WR1...until Colston got injured. Thing is...I think he's got it in him to be a WR1, but the situation is crampin his style... :tinfoilhat:

While it didn't prevent me from losing, I lost by a greater margin by benching both Big Ben and Santonio Holmes. I got cold feet as a result of remmant weather from Hurricane Ike and went instead with Brian Griese and Joey Galloway.

Sounds like I made the same arceclown move everyone else did in some shape.

Sat Sheffler, Started Zach Miller. Lost by 5 pts.

Started Fasano over Cooley

Started Schaub as one of my two QBs

Cost me a win, but I was drunk out of my mind in Vegas for the weekend....beat that excuse!

Went back and forth all Sunday morning on Edwards vs Bowe. Windy conditions in Cleveland, start Bowe. Wait, it'll be windy in KC too, start Edwards. Tough matchup for Edwards, start Bowe. Shaky QB for KC, start Edwards. Back and forth I went.

Chose Edwards.

Lost by 1 point with the 2nd highest scoring week in the league by far.

:lmao:

I had JTO in my lineup all week, but got cold feet Saturday night. Decided Palmer was the "safer" choice (start your studs). Luckily, it didn't affect the outcome.

Woke up late Sunday morning with a hangover, switched out Mcfadden for Kevin Smith, lost by 11 points. I would have won by 5. I am not drinkng on Saturday nights anymore. No way i make this switch if i had time to look things over.

Did not pick up Rodgers. I would have had to drop Roddy White and I could not bring myself to do that.
