***Week 2 Picks*** (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
First of all, take these all with a grain of salt.

Secondly, these are for educational purposes only.

Third - I think it is a major mistake to try and predict all games.

My ranking system is based on "Stars", which gauges how strongly I feel about each pick.

So, here they are:

*ONE STAR GAMES*

San Francisco 49ers vs. St. Louis Rams - SF/STL OVER 44.5 (1 star)

At first I wasn't sure about this one, but it is growing on me with each passing moment. Gore will score. So will SJax. STL has lost two corners with Tye Hill injured. Points a-plenty.

Dallas Cowboys (-4) over Miami Dolphins

Dallas absolutely rolled over the G-men last week, and Y. Bell is out for Miami. The DBs are the weak link in a decent to good D for Miami, and they'll exploit it. Also - Miami - the offense is virtually non-existent. Cowboys by a TD.

Philadelphia Eagles (-6.5) over Washington Redskins (1 star)

Tougher than it looks. Eagles at home against a week opponent looks like a lock, but Washington always manages to play Philly tight. Philly must win here, however, as they cannot go 0-2 and 0-1 in the division against a team that they need to beat. Take the Eagles.

**TWO STAR GAMES**

Green Bay Packers (-1) over New York Giants (2 stars)

Nick Barnett was a monster against Brian Westbrook in Week 1, and with the Big Guy from K-Y under center for Big Blue, Derrick Ward will be a disappointment. If Al Harris can suit up as well, the Pillsbury Throwboy becomes the Illsbury Oh-No-Boy.

Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5 or 7) over Cleveland Browns (2 stars)

We know how good the Bengals looked against a good Ravens defense - scoring 27 points - and Cleveland, well, is Cleveland right now. This could be a 20 point difference when all is said and done.

***THREE STAR GAMES***

New Orleans Saints (-3 or 4) over Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3 stars)

The Saints - are coming. The Saints - are coming. Reggie Bush. Deuce McAllister. Marques Colston and Drew Brees. Similar circumstances to Philly (cannot start 0-2, divisional foe they must beat) and a high potent offense. Garcia is a tad nicked and so is Caddy, so take the Saints to go 1-1.

6 pt teaser - Philly (-0.5) and the over (33) - (3 stars)

A bit more exotic, but I really like it. Philly will put up points and win, but the 6.5 and 39 numbers scare me. Take the variation out of that and just say the Eagles have to win and it feels much better.

:yucky: of the Week - New Orleans

Enjoy.

Wow some good stuff here Jeff. I'm SHOCKED no one responded back to this, so let me chyme in!San Francisco 49ers vs. St. Louis Rams - SF/STL OVER 44.5

Both of these offenses just looked HORRIBLE last week. I see this game going UNDER 44.5

Dallas Cowboys (-4) over Miami Dolphins

Agree

Tough call here, but I like your analysis. Agree

Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5 or 7) over Cleveland Browns (2 stars)

Absolute BLOW OUT. Agree

This game worries me. I hope the Saints offense rebounds, because they were fun to watch last year. But on the road at Tampa, I'd pass until I see some form of life from Brees and company.

Glad you enjoyed them - and I'm glad you quoted the OP as now I can't change anything (not that I'd want to - that's my thoughts).I did notice I messed up the order and put the GB game in 1 star instead of 2 - edited the first post to fix it.

We'll see how these pan out.

All in all, given that 9 games are 6pts or more, I hope we don't have boring games for Week 2.

You are completely wrong about the Saints game. Not only is it not a lock but the Bucs will win outright!
Um, ok - care to expand on this theory?Especially if the Caddy is still in the garage (man I hate that joke, but it works).
:goodposting:That joke was pretty corny.I'm a Bucs fan, but the Saints have had the Bucs number since the NFC South came about. The only way I see the Bucs winning is if:Drew Brees has another stinker (not likely)Duece McAllister doesn't have a good game (his style of play is better suited against the Bucs than Bush)Jeff Garcia connects with Joey Galloway all dayHell freezes over
