Week 3 waiver wire pickups (1 Viewer)

At WR, Benjamin, Matthews and Crabtree are all interesting. Anyone care to rank them and give some reasons why?
1. Crabtree. Lots of targets, more like a 1b than a 2, limited TE play, weak defense.

2. Matthews. Great hands, Tannehill trusts him, limited run game, maybe weak defense.

3. Benjamin. Big play guy who will have bad games. Too few targets.
Nice analysis. I would flop Matthews and Benjamin. I agree the lack of targets is a concern with Benjamin, but his success should earn him more targets, and a matchup against Oakland this week should open that opportunity. Matthews has two very tough matchups the next couple weeks, and I agree with Kenny Powers that there are an awful lot of mouths to feed in the Miami receiving game. I was excited about Crabtree after he and Carr developed some early chemistry, but I expect there will be up and down weeks.

FBG seems to really like c mike in this weeks upgrades/downgrades.

Am I missing something? Randle didn't look special but her sure looked serviceable. And let's be real, chances of them being competitive after losing their two best offensive players is slim. They can't play the Eagles every week

The FBG crew are pretty much "all in" on CMike and have been for at least two weeks. They seem to feel strongly that he's going to get a shot at the job at some point. Randle looked serviceable but long term "serviceable" might not cut it for Jerry Jones.

Someone mentioned Ebron. His development this year has been legit. Other than a third down drop against the Chargers he's been rock solid.

The most encouraging thing is Pettigrew was out Sunday and he played a career 72 (of 78) snaps; graded out well on his blocking assignments. That should bode well for his future production as he'll be on the field a lot more this year.

May also have to do with the fact that Weeden's best chance may be a run-heavy attack that sets up the pass. I am a believer that Randle will still turn it around, but C-Mike seems to have more of a N/S pedigree and if he can find success where others have been average, that may be the formula to keep Dallas on the tracks until Romo is back.

Dion Lewis if he somehow wasn't picked up before or after week 1.
cmon man.
Wasn't picked up in 1 of my 5 leagues, can't be the only one.
Wasn't picked up in my league until he scored today. My league has 24/7 adds/drops.
Such a dumb rule, unless it is a free league nobody cares about.
12 team league, $600 per team
That's way too much money on the line to have such a terrible league setting.

Their o-line and defense are elite. They will be within striking distance, if not leading the East when Romo/Dez come back.

FBG seems to have hitched their wagon on CMichael as a low invest, high profit pick up. I can get behind that. He's gone in all my leagues or our benches are too short to stash an inactive guy. But I'm trying to make room for him, you never know and as has been stated. The price is cheap.

Crabtree is available in all my leagues and you can't ignore the sheer amount of targets.

You guys think Benjamin is for real or just a flash in the pan?

He's still a FA in one of my leagues.
He's a big play deep threat. He'll have more 3 point days than 10+ point days....but he will have a few of those 10+ point days. Makes for a nice what the heck desperation bye week flex, but nobody you want to rely on week in and out.

Browns WR's in general still scare me. While Benjamin had an impressive fantasy score, remember Manziel connected on only 8 throws the entire day. You could very well be waiting in pins and needles on a zero point game, hoping for a 50 yard TD, a pass that most coordinators have by now studied and worked a solution for.

Brandon Weedon in start 2 QB leagues is :moneybag:
Trying to figure out how much to bid on Weeden in my 12-team/Start-2QB league. We have $100 to spend for the year (I have $99 remaining). There are NO other starting QBs on the waiver wire. I have Brees and Bortles so I could use a boost.Thinking of going with $35.
Weeden is the only QB on the wire who is more than a two week stopgap. Although there are rumors out there that Bree's injury could keep him out several weeks. In that case Luke McCown has some value. Good idea to put in a backup bid for McCown.

Remember that not only Brees and Romo owners are in panic mode. Stafford and Cutler owners are nervous as well. Don't be surprised to see somebody blow 60+ percent on Weeden.

If Eric Decker is going to miss time a very under radar pickup should be Devin Smith rookie Wr from Ohio St. I believe he's a Homerun hitter best deep ball Wr in this yrs draft. He broke his ribs first day of training camp but he's back to full practice was almost active this wk

I'm a big "target guy". Crab trees targets are very interesting. It shows Carr trusts him, is looking for him, and that he will be a focal point in the offense. I'm going for him this week hoping I can land him.

Cmike I still think is a few weeks away if he even gets a shot. I think Randle will turn it around but maybe not. I just don't think an inactive player is worth a roster spot on my short bench league. A WR who has a crazy amount of targets is

Smith is not ready for prime time yet. If you're looking for the Jets' Decker replacement, go with Chris Owusu. I'd keep my expectations low for him as well, though.

Agree to disagree I believe he was one of the most underrated Wr in the draft this yr. he was better than davante Parker and Perriman to me

Agreed, our league was like that for the first couple of years, then we changed it. You can't enjoy watching games, or making other plans on Sunday if you have to worry about waiver wire moves all day. No fun.

Dynasty wise, Smith is worth a stash. But in redraft, I don't expect much from him this year.

Crockett Gilmore
I would change this to "Whoever the TE is playing Oakland each week"
Do the Browns have a TE?
Really? I don't see Housler, Dray or Bainbridge doing anything in this game despite what Eifert and Gilmore did to Oakland. None of those CLE tight ends are involved in as many snaps and targets as the two guys that burned the Raiders in weeks 1 and 2.

Same here, except I'd have to drop Parker or Algohor and honestly I can't bring myself to do that quite yet. I mean can Carr really support both Crabtree and Cooper??

For those that use FAAB, how much would you use on Starks?
If you are a Lacy owner, you want Starks. Otherwise, unless you are looking for trade bait, I think Lacy will return this week so those looking to snipe Starks as a spot starter this week, look elsewhere.

Seems early to be dropping Parker and possibly Aglohor. But, Crabtree and Cooper have decent value. The running game is not great and there are no other mouths to feed in Oakland.

I was a big fan of Carr being the best QB out of that class, and I still think that can hold true. So yes, I think Carr can support two WRs. This is a completely different Oakland team. I certainly think Crabtree is worth a flex consideration, and at the very least a roster spot. The only WRs to have more targets than him thus far are:Edelman

Sanders

Julio Jones

D. Thomas

Hopkins has the same

That's a pretty awesome list to be on...

FBG has Crabtree ranked 18th this week in early projections (15 in PPR). Cooper 11. They seem to think both can produce. The more I look at him the more I increase my FAAB $$

Thoughts on grabbing Derek Carr?

I really like his upside, but most of the "experts" still have him pretty low in waiver rankings.

See above.

I think if Carr has another week like last week, he will be at the top of the list on the "week 4 waiver wire" thread.

Especially with so many QBs going down.

Someone just dropped Dez Bryant in one of my leagues. Granted its a redraft but seriously wtf!

Glad I saved my waiver wire 1 in that league. He will be a nice addition to my 2-0 playoff team.

How many teams? In a 10 team redraft where Dez isn't attracting any trade offers I don't think it's that unreasonable for an 0-2 team to dump a guy who may be out 8 weeks or longer, and then may not be 100% when he returns. That team needs to make moves that will help it win now.

This would be my feeling. Of course I am scarred by holding Gordon last year. It is a real detriment to your team to hold a player that MAY get to play in the playoffs. He could be a difference maker there but it is a long time to waste a roster spot.

Probably flash, but he has scored too much not to be owned now.
I feel like he may be the Martavis Bryant of last year. He's gonna be boom or bust, but you have to take a chance on him if you have bench room.
The guy he kind of reminds me of is Hurns...

Blew a large amount of FAAB on him for practically nothing.

He could be legit though, that's why I asked. Can't bring myself to watch Cleveland very much.

Rishard Matthews. I believe.

Would like Parker too. Keeping an eye on that. Play Matthews until Parker starts.

Landry is good but not a bona fide #1 IMO.

Crossing fingers for DGB.

I totally agree. I drafted Gordon with my last round pick last season, and held him all the way to the fantasy playoffs, with all but nothing to show for it. I'm a Dez owner this season, in a league where noone trades, and I won't hesitate to drop him for the right free agent.

Landry looks like a bonafide #1 to me. That's all they talk about during the game is Landry.
Landry is legit. The thought that he was only valuable in PPR turned out to be way wrong. He probably should have been going 3rd-4th round in standard.
