Week 5 - Venting Thread (1 Viewer)

0-5 after winning back to back championships :X

Everything I touch this year turns to mud. Benched Gore last week he costs me a win, Big Ben gets 5tds on my bench this week, I trade for Blount mid week and he does a knee. :wall: :hot: :wall:

I'm a furious Matt Ryan owner. Two 20+ yard perfect passes bounce off WR's hands for INT's. I can't believe I started him over my main QB due to the supposed great matchup. Negative points in the second half.

 
In my non PPR league, started Freeman over Big Ben. Freeman scored me -1 fpts while Ben scored 32. Also started Redman (2) at RB2 and Tolbert (2) at flex over McGahee (13) and Greene (10). Also started MWTB (-1) over Lance Moore (1). Left a net 54 fpts on bench. Lost By 26 and have Lions D to play while opponent has Megatron and Detroit K left.

 
My team and my unbeatable wr trio of Vincent Jackson, Tampa Mike, and Brandon Lloyd got manhandled by a guy forced to play Curtis Painter and no kicker.

I also started freeman over Ben. NEVER again. Freeman is on my bench for the duration of the season except for BYE or ben is ruled out before the game. damn you freeman :hot:

I always see Freeman ranked pretty high which is laughable, the guy is horrible...
 
I started Peterson, Fred Jackson. They got me 55 points. Thanks to Bucs D, I only netted 11 points from the other 5 positions that have played

This is my EXACT same scenario. Its like i'm looking in the mirror. I've dominated my league for a while. I was due but man its brutal to essentially be out of it with a loooong way to go.I'll still stay competitive, field a lineup and hope to string some wins together. Thankfully in my league, we have a loser bowl. All teams who don't make playoffs have a 3 week playoff for their entry fee back. It keeps the have not's like me interetsed.
 
Had a 20pt lead going into last nights game. He has Crosby and the GB D, I have Bryant. My kicker gets me two XP's , his kicker kicks FG's all night. I'm leading 119 1/2 to 119 with 2 minutes to go. 48 seconds left in the game Ryan throws an INT and I lose 121 to 119 1/2. I would have beat everyone else in the league by over 20 pts. :rant:

 
For the first time this late in a season, I'm dead-last in a league. 1-4, with frankly very little to be optimistic about. I'm near the top of the standings in every other league, so maybe I should consider it best to have all my "suck" concentrated in one place. Still, I don't feel good and frankly I'm feeling a bit humiliated to even check in on the league page. What's gone wrong?

1. Injuries. I know it could be worse (re: Jamaal Charles or Peyton Manning owners). But intentionally building my team around strong RB play, and have Foster and SJax spend so much time on the sidelines has crippled my production.

2. Horrible matchup luck. After this weekend, I'll have had 3 losses in a row by less than a single TD. And I can trace those losses to an unfathomable stink-bomb in my own lineup - like Harvin's pathetic game this week, or Branch's zero 2 weeks ago. While someone for my opponent is always going off and having one of those "monster" games, I don't seem to get those games from my own squad. I guess the closest was Foster last week and Brees week 1 (my only winning week).

3. Underperformers. At WR, there were a number of midround guys I liked for WR1 upside. Santonio Holmes, Percy Harvin, Ochocinco, Mike Thomas, Lance Moore. Yep, missed on every single freakin' one. I dread seeing FBG's weekly "Upgrade" notice, because the downgrade section is always full of my guys.

4. Horrible roster management decisions. I always start the wrong guys. A bonehead move at TE single-handedly cost me 2 wins (maybe 3 depending on tonight's game). After 2 weeks, I dropped Pettigrew for Fred Davis. And after that, it's like a light switched - Pettigrew started being awesome while Davis became worthless.

5. Bad draft strategy. Since we only needed to start 2 WRs (and could start 3 RBs), and it's 0.5 PPR, I thought a winning approach was to secure pass catching RBs (Foster, SJax, Best). VBD's from Draft Dominator agreed with this, ranking the top WRs much lower than normal. As it turned out, not having a single WR I could count on on a weekly basis has killed me. This week I'm losing to a team playing Earnest Graham and Mike Tolbert at RB. In the future, unless the league settings are something extreme, I need to keep my teams balanced at the various positions with top-tier talent.

I don't know ... I just feel like a gigantic loser. Not just having a loser of a team. But having a loser that I've put so much time and effort into managing. There are autodrafted teams (whose managers hardly do a single move) better than mine in the standings.

 
I am also a Freeman, Roethlisberger owner. Started Ben last week Freeman would have given me a win. Started Freeman this week and lost, Bens 5tds and i win.

1-3-1 3rd in points, 9th in standings. Suck it up and keep going.

edited to add= My tie was H. nicks stat correction, was a 3 point win until change.

My draft sux - White batlling injury and a new case of dropivitis, Hillis underused, Scaub underperforming, Manningham MIA and Gates hurt again.

But I should be 3-2, instead yesterday I play Hou hybrid Casey at TE and he puts up a round number called Zero. Then my QB Schaub looks to be set for a game winniing TD at the end, and he throws a stupid pick on the last play. A plus 6 now a -2.

Still, I was tied with Higs Pigs at 95 with seconds left in the game last night, and i have the high scorer in Schaub. But on the last real play of the game, Ryan throws a pass to my man White, who leaps and does not catch it, but bats it up for a GB int. I look at the board thinking I have won - and see Higs Pigs have the GB defense. A plus 3 play for me is botched by White and turns into another -2 at the end of the game, and I lose by two.

I fookin hate this shutyourmouth season. Once again I lose while scoring in the top 25% of my league. Played the second highest scoring team and lost by one freaking point. Also out of my 4 flex choices this week I managed to pick the one that scored the least. I'm going to start picking my flex position out of a hat. I'm trying to figure out what the fook I did to piss off the fantasy football gods this year.

All I have to say is 1. thank god for the fact that top 2 point producers, after the top two records, make it to the playoffs and 2. if that fails, thank god for the Toilet Bowl.

 
Before this week turned down a trade of Roddy White and BJGE for my Stevie Johnson and LaGarrette Blount. :wall:

Down 22 with my Calvin to my opponent's CHI D....1/2 PPR.

Lost by 1/2 pt. F'n Jahvid Best. If he doesn't break those long gains and I likely win.

 
3-2 now b/c I benched Beanie Wells week 4 (& my opponent's DST & kicker blew up) & b/c I started Titans DST instead of 49ers week 5, and my 4 team division is stacked. It's early, but now BYE weeks are gonna kill me. To make matters worse, barring trades/injuries, none of my upcoming opponents will be having any of their starters on BYE (& I lost week 5 to the guy who had Ray Rice on his BYE). FML

 
best runs in either one of those 4th quarter breakaways, or the bears score that TD, instead of getting tackled at the 1 (he had lions defense), and I'm 5-0...lost by 2.8, blouses.

 
Best got me too. I had Calvin, was doing fine until that.

In this league, bonus for >100yards, >150. Best scored more in that game than his first four weeks combined.

 
Had 35 pt lead with Hanson going against Calvin and Best. My league gives long TD bonuses so I lost.

Also, I was 2nd highest scoring team in the league this week and lost. Mama said there'd be days...

 
I knew week 5 was going to be a tough bye for me. Not only did I lose in all my Fantasy leagues (was undefeated in 2) I am now kicked out of the FBG contest. Missed the cutoff by 1 point. argh

 
Only in two leagues this year - one league, that I thought I had a shot at going undefeated after the draft, I am now 2-3 after 3 straight losses. My other league, which was a much worse team on paper is 5-0. This game is stupid.
