Week 5 waiver wire pickups (1 Viewer)

I think torrain will be a great add shanny loves him, drafted him in denver, made it a point to get him when he went to washington as soon as he see any chance to slip torrain into the starting position without looking like he is playing favorites he does it

I might be certifiable, but in my big money league I picked up a guy off the WW for a one week start whom I loathe. But I just have a feeling he is gonna have a big week. He also only had 1 target last week (but at least it was a td) in a loss, though he had pretty good targets the 3 prior weeks and put up pretty respectable numbers.

One of my least favorite players too, who went to a college that I loathe.

I give you as possible 1 weak flyer Michael Jenkins. The viqueens are at home, playing zona who has been letting receivers run wild all year. We'll see how close the line between clever and stupid is. :grad:

Vikings WR

Michael Jenkins
has been perhaps the best receiver on the Minnesota roster after four weeks of the season. Jenkins, who caught one pass for 1 yard and a touchdown Week 4 at Kansas City, already has 16 catches for 144 yards and two scores this season after four games. Jenkins even caught nine passes Week 3 for 88 yards for his best effort of the season to date. The Vikings host the Cardinals in Week 5, and Jenkins has four career catches against Arizona for 43 yards in two games.

Fantasy Analysis

Vikings QB Donovan McNabb has established a nice rapport with Jenkins, who has been his most consistent receiving option this season. Plus, Arizona has also struggled at limiting the Fantasy points scored by opposing wide receivers. Arizona is allowing the sixth-most Fantasy points per game to the position and Hakeem Nicks just torched them for 162 yards with a TD on 10 catches last week. Together with Victor Cruz, the Giants top two receivers racked up 16 catches for 260 yards in the Week 4 game. Unfortunately, we just don't see that kind of production out of the Vikings in Week 5. Jenkins is a solid bye-week replacement, however, and should be considered a decent No. 3 for 4 Fantasy WR for Week 5.

Other than the obvious (Redman/Torrain), M. Clayton with those with dead weight on their rosters. I put in a claim for him the week but didn't get him (surprise!) off the wire. Rams receivers have done nothing and Clayton may be useful the last 1/3 1/4 of the season. Hey, you never know.

Picked up Taiwan Jones. As an owner of McFadden/Bush, and with McFadden limited last week with a groin, and Bush with an ankle, I think the time is now to pre-emptively pick up Jones. If given a chance, he has the speed to explode onto the scene if given the chance. It also had a lot to do with having expendable roster space, I admit.

Right up to the point where he changes his mind again ;)

Nobody drinking the Isaac Redman kool-aid yet?
Not unless it looks like Mendenhall will sit out on Sunday. Underperforming as he is, I don't see Mendenhall in any jeopardy of losing his role as the bellcow as long as he's healthy.
NFL injury report:TENNESSEE TITANS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS - STEELERS: DNP: CB Cortez Allen (ankle), NT Casey Hampton (shoulder), LB James Harrison (eye), G Chris Kemoeatu (knee), RB Rashard Mendenhall (hamstring)

Everything I have read this week suggests Mendenhall is going to be Doubtful

Joe McKnight or Powell, maybe? Halfway through the Sunday night game Greene looks as abysmal as ever. Recovered his own fumble, too. Something's gotta give, here. I think Bloom is right that as soon as you see Powell active on game day, plan to grab him.
It's not so much who is running the ball for the Jets as much as it is their O-line. Slausen and Hunter are getting abused. Mangold out made things worse. until the O-line improves, I wouldn't touch any Jets RB with the exception of maybe LT in PPR leagues. LT, Keller and Mason to a stretch are Sanchez's safety values right now because of all the duress he's under.
Go get McKnight right now. He's gonna get a chance this week and he'll have ManGold back to open up the holes and the weak Pats defense doesn't have Mayo. I know I have a total boner for McKnight, but you need to get him now. After Sunday, he's gonna be on top of the waiver pick up list. Goosebumps.S.W.

I don't see McKnight getting enough carries this week to be the top waiver pickup. Even if Greene sucks, LT will get more carries. I can see McKnight being the change of pace guy but he won't be getting 10+ carries unless there is an injury.

Buy low. After the game, his price is going up. He's gonna get just enough carries to show what he can do for the rest of the year. Get him now while you still can. I have a boner and goosebumps from this guy. I think I have goosebumps on my boner. Get him now.S.W.

I grabbed Battle instead. I could be wrong, but I think Battle has a better chance of getting a good amount of carries then McKnight does

Deep Leagues.

Danny Ware - #2 option this week behind Bradshaw.

Taylor Price - Almost 100% recovered from the hamstring injury, should be active.

Christopher Ivory - Close to returning to a deep RB corps, but kid has skillz.
