Week 7 WW Defence (1 Viewer)

Decided to roll with the Raiders and hope that Gabbert gives many gifts away. I've had the Steelers the past couple weeks, but they're getting by on rep alone. Thought about Buffalo, but Tennessee might not fare that badly against them.

I'd grab the Bills and hold. Look at their remaining schedule:TEN - YesBYE@HOU - No@NE - NoMIA - Yes@IND - YesJAC - YesSTL - YesSEA - Yes@MIA - YesNew England's schedule is pretty good as well but I imagine they are not on the waivers in as many leagues.
If you do this pair up Buffalo with San Diego for a great schedule the rest of the season. The Chargers have great matchups the three weeks after the Bills play the Titans.

I picked up the Bills this week and preemptively picked up the Chargers for Week 8. But I won't be holding 2 D for longer than this week.

I have the craptastic options of:OAKDETCARCLEI'm thinking of rolling with OAK though. anyone think DET (even if they get lit up) will get enough sacks & turnovers to make them a better start than OAK?
The one thing that is leading me back to DET is how completely different their defense looks with Louis Delmas back.

Detroits also actually been good against the run, and the last few weeks solid pressure up front. (If they can put that same pressure on Cutler he just may fold)

Yes, the Chargers are a very good option to pair up with the Bills for weeks 8,9 & 10 and then it looks like the Bills are safe to ride the rest of the way. If you are in a league where defensive scoring is very important I'd hold both just in case.

For you guys debating Detroit..

QB Jay Cutler has a 105.0 passer rating in seven career starts vs. the Lions with 10 touchdown passes and one interception. It’s true that Cutler has had meltdowns in other prime time games and in some “big” games as a Bear, but not on Monday nights, when he’s 5-1. Under Lovie Smith, the Bears are 8-2 on Monday Night Football, and the quarterback has had a big hand in that success. Cutler has had a passer rating of higher than 96.0 in five of his six Monday starts with the Bears, and his cumulative passer rating on Monday nights is 104.9 since he arrived in Chicago in 2009. He has been intercepted just three times while throwing 13 touchdown passes and completing 63.3 percent of his passes
..tread carefully.

I've been debating what defense to start as well.

I dropped the Cards for the Patriots but now I'm having second thoughts. I keep thinking that even if the Cards don't play well, they've still got Patrick Peterson returning punts. He had 4 punt returns for touchdowns last season, he doesn't have any this season, although he's come close. I figure he's about due to bring one home. The Cards may not be the flashiest defense, but all it takes is one TD for it to be a successful fantasy day.

Thoughts on who to start between Minnesota and Arizona, I have Minnesota in right now juts because of how bad AZ offense is, but just wondering if anyone else thinks otherwise

Interesting. Who were those Cutler/MNF games against?

I was able to grab GB off waivers. Kind of surprised they were avail. I haven't played the same DEF twice this year. Think I am going to ride GB the next couple of weeks and hopefully beyond. Haven't watched any GB football, what up with the DEF?

With ATL on their bye, my WW choices are pretty slim (OAK, DAL, TB, NO are my choices.) While OAK is tempting against the Jags, I'm thinking of going DAL at Carolina (also a WW D/ST).

CAR just lost their starting center Kalil and had to reshuffle their OL during the bye. Dallas is #2 vs the pass, but middle of the road against the run, which CAR keeps saying they need to do more of. They have the RBs (& Newton), but haven't really put up good rushing totals this year except vs ATL & NO, who are both near the bottom in rushing D.

I'm gambling on "good" Romo showing up against a CAR D that can be passed on, and will be without CB Gamble & probably LB Beason. If Dallas can get up early, maybe their D/ST will be able to get pressure on Newton, force a turnover or two, and maybe get a score. Ware might have a nice day in this "must win" game for both teams.

Disclaimer: I haven't watched Dallas play since Week 1, and haven't seen Carolina play at all this year, so maybe others who have could shed some better light on this situation.
