Week 8 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (7 Viewers)

Non-ppr standard scoring league. I've narrowed my decision down to the following. I need to start one of these 3 players:

Vidal vs MIN - Not a great matchup on paper but with Haskins out should get plenty of volume and GL
Johnston vs MIN - Chargers now have 4 viable receiving threats all wanted targets; it's a guessing game of who gets them week-to-week
Deebo vs KC - Looks like he will plan this week; Marriota now at QB and Scary Terry back in the mix may decrease his previous usage

Thanks in advance.

Pretty much at a coin flip this weekend at QB.
Herbert tonight vs. Minnesota
Daniel Jones vs. TN
Two good options
Colts could be up several scores in the second half
Chargers and Vikes should be close throughout
Justin has been chuckin' it a ton
I'll give him the slight edge this week

Need 1 for Full Point PPR:

Believe it or not, all these are available in my 12 Men League. It’s a week rental.

Hock Vs. LAC
Njoku Vs. NE
Otton Vs NO
Henry Vs. Cleveland
Taylor Vs. Cincy
All pretty close this week
TJ would probably be my choice but Cade makes an interesting sleeper pick
Good luck

Non PPR, standard scoring and JSN on his bye week:
Q Johnson vs Vikings on Thursday (I hate Thursday games as it seems I always get screwed on them)
M. Mims vs Cowboys (Sieve defense but he has been very sporadic)

I think if this was a Sunday game, I would go with Johnson but right now I don't know if I could pull the trigger.
Are you a high floor or high ceiling guy?
Floor Mims
Ceiling Johnston

Thoughts on two WRs to pick? Standard non-PPR league

Pittman vs Ten
Allen vs Min
Addison vs Chargers
DJ Moore vs Bal

Leaning towards Pittman and Addison

Have McCaffery and Breece Hall starting in two RB spots and Chase Brown in Flex

non-ppr, McBride on a BYE

start Goedert vs Giants

or pick up one of Otton (@ Saints) or Gadsden (vs Vikings)
I like Goedert as much as the other options. Otton has teased us like this before and Gadsen is a lot more unknown, with a tough matchup too. Goedert has been consistent, particularly with TDs and has a fine matchup, he torched the Giants two weeks ago and I imagine the Eagles remember that loss in a big way.

Goedert>Otton>Gadsen

Ok, a few of my top players are on a bye and the rest of my team are basically the same. Standard scoring non-ppr league:

Out of this big group, I need to play 1 RB's, 2 Wr's and 2 flex spots:

Chase Brown vs NYJ - Finally playable last week, but gave up snaps to Perine; Perine really?
Vidal vs MIN - Stuffed by IND and now against a tough MIN defense
Warren vs GB - Breakout game last week, but now against a tough GB defense; volume is there though
Deebo vs KC - Should play this week but most likely without Daniels and Scary Terry should be back
Johnston vs MIN - A TD saved his fantasy day last week but concerning he couldn't produce when Herbert threw for over 400 yards; many mouths to feed in LA
Higgins vs NYJ - Can now be played again with Flacco in the lineup
Olave vs TB - Volume has been there all year but finally broke out for 2 TD's which he needed since this is non-ppr

Like I said, I need 1 RB's, 2 WR's and 2 flex. As of now, I have:

I'm not a huge fan of playing both a RB and WR from the same team, but I have that with the Chargers and Bengals; Help please!

Next question is Ferguson or Kraft at TE.

Thanks in advance for all the help!!
To me Chase Brown, Higgins & Olave seem to be locks. They're getting volume and have fine matchups. Warren seems like a the right choice too for a flex spot because of his volume and, IMO big play ability.

I don't think we know enough about Vidal to start him with confidence.

Between Deebo & QJ I think it's a coin flip. Both have tough matchups and both have big play ability. But, with Mariota under center I think I lean

QJ>Deebo
============================

Both TE options are great IMO but, Kraft has a much better matchup.

Kraft>Ferguson

Need two WRs this week for std PPR league:
Stefon DIggs vs CLE - He's becoming a primary target for Maye, but CLE's DBs are pretty good. I think NE will win, but not sure he'll be a big scorer this week.
Tez Johnson @ NO - With Evans and Godwin out, I think Tez will see more playing time with Egbuka. He scored last week, and I think he has a good matchup to repeat.
Matthew Golden @ PIT - He's hot and cold - I don't know what to expect from him. I also think PIT's DEF plays a little dirtier than others, so I can see him not getting much.
Alec Pierce vs TEN - Deep ball specialist, but will that be needed vs TEN? I think this is another win by rushing game for IND.

Leaning towards Diggs and Johnson as the more consistent options. Am I off base here?

Well, well... such developments!

AJ Brown might be kept out Sunday with the hammy. He could play, of course but… with the bye week 9 coming up for Philly, wisdom might dictate that they give him an additional week rest. So....

My unexpected query is:

Non-PPR...

Q. Johnston vs. MN
J. Addison @LAC

Thanks.

Agreed here and with the others. With the backfield so banged up…think he is the better play

Highest floor-Deebo
Highest ceiling- Johnston
Somewhere in between- Vidal

I don't think if Scary is back it hurts Deebo, might actually open up the middle for him
If you think he's healthy,I'd roll with Deebo

J. Addison @LAC

Thanks.
Coin flip
Non-ppr I'll give a slight edge to Johnston to snag a long td

PPR league. Need a quick opinion before kickoff tonight:

* J. Mason at LAC -- Good matchup. LAC surprisingly mediocre against the run. However, A. Jones back so maybe he gets nothing in terms of receiving. If Wentz pulls another turnover act, gamescript could go south.

or

* C. Brown vs NYJ -- NYJ surprisingly good against the run and I think they are getting some LB reinforcements back. However, this is smelling like a Cinci blowout. Sauce is trending out hasn't practiced. Flacco should be able to throw to Chase and Higgins at will. Could open things up. Also, B. Hall has been limited. Could they hold him out if they intend on trading him? Just smelling a NYJs tank here on the road and maybe Brown has his breakout game.

Which?

Thanks

Ever so slight edge to Brown this week for me

I'll start.

Got a rough bye week.

PPR I need three flex players

Hollywood v WAS
Monangai @ BAL
Kyle Pitts v MIA
Chuba @ BUF

I have the first three in my lineup ATM. I also have Rico & D'Andre as my starting RBs.
I'd sit Hollywood. Got a lucky TD last week, but he's AT best the #4 option in the passing game there, and Rice likely isn't a part time player this week.
Super Flex league need two QBs;

Lamar v CHI (if he plays)
D.Jones v TEN
Bo Nix v DAL

Not sure who to sit.
I'd sit Jones. Matchup doesn't suggest a ton of passing, and his early season GL runs have gone back to Taylor.
non-ppr, McBride on a BYE

start Goedert vs Giants

or pick up one of Otton (@ Saints) or Gadsden (vs Vikings)
I'd roll with Goedert. AJ Brown is banged up, and Goedert had 9-110-1 against them a couple weeks ago.
Ok, a few of my top players are on a bye and the rest of my team are basically the same. Standard scoring non-ppr league:

Next question is Ferguson or Kraft at TE.

Thanks in advance for all the help!!
I'd go Brown at RB, I think he has the best matchup, and I'm not that worried about Perine.
At WR, I'd go with Olave and Higgins. Best volume, and matchup with Sauce out.
AT TE, I'd go Kraft, against the Steelers who struggle to cover the middle of the field.
At flex, are these the same team? Because I'd start Ferguson if you can, alongside Vidal. If you can't start Ferguson, I'd go Vidal and Warren.
SF pick one to pair with Bo Nix
Caleb in Baltimore
Rattler vs bucs
Flacco vs the jets

Caleb is currently in.

Same league, PPR
Bill JCM in KC
Pearsall in Houston (if healthy)
I'd go Caleb in what could be a bit of a shootout.

I don't think Pearsall is playing, but I'd go JCM regardless.
PPR league. Need to make a decision to start or sit J. Mason prior to the Thursday game.

I have to play two of these 3 RBs:

* R. Dowdle vs BUF

* J. Mason @ LAC --

* C. Brown vs NYJ --

Leaning Dowdle and Mason.

Which 2?

Thanks
I actually like Brown the most of that group. I'd just barely lean Dowdle over Mason. Just feel like he has more upside, in what is likely a higher scoring game.
Need a desperation flex in 0.5ppr

Schultz vs SF (assuming Nico out)
Legette vs Buf
Franklin vs Dal
I'd be a little surprised if Nico was playing, so I lean Schultz. He was their clear #1 in his absence.
Need to decide on a QB before Thursday
FFPC scoring:

J.Herbert vs Minn

J.Dart @ Phi
I like Dart a lot, but I'm not ready to start him over a guy like Herbert yet.
And a little more complicated one
FFPC scoring:
Need need TWO of the following:

R.Stevenson vs Cleve
K.Boutte vs Cleve
T.J. Hockenson @ LAC
E.Engram vs Dall
M.Brown vs Wash
I think Stevenson is a clear start among this group. They clearly don't trust Henderson at all, and should be leading all day against the Browns. It won't be pretty, but I think he should see 20 touches.

2nd spot is closer, I think I'd go Engram in a likely shootout. Dallas hasn't been good against TEs.
PPR - Superflex - bonus points for rush/rec TDs of 40+ and 50+

RB:
Spears @ Indy
or
Monangai @ Bal

WR:
K. Coleman @ Car
or
M. Mims vs. Dallas
I'd go Monangai. If I'm gonna have a lesser back in a RBBC I'd rather have the one in the good offense.

I guess Coleman and hope they spent the bye week trying to find more for him to do. Mims has a better matchup, but he's also the #4 target in Denver.
0.5 PPR. Need help with my flex:
  • Kamara vs. Bucs
  • Dowdle vs. Bills
  • DJ Moore vs. Ravens
  • Peasrsall vs. Texans (If healthy but doesn't look good)
I think I'd ride the hot hand here and go Dowdle. Bills D has been gashed by the run a lot this season.
Also 0.5 PPR league:

Need a TE:
  • Henry vs. Browns
  • Fannin vs. Patriots
Need a FLEX:
  • Chase Brown vs. Jets
  • McLaurin vs. Chiefs (If healthy, on MNF)
  • Jauan Jennings vs. Texans
TE probably depends on if Njoku is playing for me. If he's out, go Fannin, if he's in, I'd lean Henry.

I think Chase Brown is the clear call at flex. Want to see how healthy McLaurin is, and its Mariota not Daniels. Jennings and his 50 broken ribs aren't something I'd wanna start right now.
Defense question:

* KC vs WASH -- Daniels already out. Deebo and McLaurin iffy but it was reported they will practice. M. Mariota is capable but could be playing from behind with KC's ears pinned back.

or

* ATL D vs MIA -- Miami would appear to be a trainwreck. ATL pass D seems for real while the run D is middle of the pack. Waller on IR now.

Both of these Ds have very similar stats.

Which?

Thanks
I think I'd go KC. Just feel like a better defense, and I'm more worried about Achane than I am anyone on Washington without Daniels.
TE Appreciation Week:

In 2024, TEs scored 15 plus TDs on TE Appreciation Day

Who gets the nod:

Pitts vs Miami
Gadsden vs Minny
Henry vs Cleveland
Otton @ NO - On WW but I will get him if needed

Don’t be shy as TE and Flex spots are open so choose 2
Otton>Pitts>Gadsden>Henry. New Orleans plays as much zone as anyone, so I expect a lot of catches for Otton.
0.5 PPR

Last Flex Play:
Kyle Monangai at Baltimore
Marvin Mims vs Dallas - I am starting Bo Nix as well
I think Monangai is the play. Mims is the #4 target in that passing game.
NON-PPR - Need a TE and really a TD:

Hock @ Chargers on Thursday
Fannin @ Patriots
I'd roll with Fannin, until we see Hockenson actually do something. He almost had a TD last week, but I expect him to be spending time blocking tonight.

Johnston is the call here. Better player, better offense, higher priority of the offense.
Need 1 for Full Point PPR:

Believe it or not, all these are available in my 12 Men League. It’s a week rental.

Hock Vs. LAC
Njoku Vs. NE
Otton Vs NO
Henry Vs. Cleveland
Taylor Vs. Cincy
Otton
Would anyone think I was crazy to be considering starting Flacco vs. NYJ over Jones vs. TN? 🤔

The Titans held Jones to a measely 15.82 points in Week 3.
Crazy? No. But I'd stick with Jones. I don't think the Bengals will score as many points as last week against NY.
Pretty much at a coin flip this weekend at QB.
Herbert tonight vs. Minnesota
Daniel Jones vs. TN
I'd go with Herbert, they just need him to do more.
non-ppr

Mayfield @ Saints
or
D.Jones vs Titans

also, need two from the following

Judkins @ Patriots
R.Dowdle vs Bills
Z.Flowers vs Bears
T.McMillan vs Bills
QB is a coin flip. I'll say Jones, just because he has more healthy weapons.

Flowers is a must start in with Lamar back in a great matchup. I'd go Judkins as well, and hope the Browns can keep it close. Judkins is probably a 50-50 bet to be any Browns TD.
Mac Jones vs Houston (if Purdy out)
Mariota vs KC
Caleb vs Baltimore
I'd go with Caleb in a potential shootout.

I'd go with Vidal. I don't expect the full on chase script the Chargers had last week.
Thoughts on two WRs to pick? Standard non-PPR league

Pittman vs Ten
Allen vs Min
Addison vs Chargers
DJ Moore vs Bal

Leaning towards Pittman and Addison

Have McCaffery and Breece Hall starting in two RB spots and Chase Brown in Flex
I'd go Pittman and Allen. I like Allen's TD chances more than Addison.
Need two WRs this week for std PPR league:
Stefon DIggs vs CLE - He's becoming a primary target for Maye, but CLE's DBs are pretty good. I think NE will win, but not sure he'll be a big scorer this week.

Alec Pierce vs TEN - Deep ball specialist, but will that be needed vs TEN? I think this is another win by rushing game for IND.

Leaning towards Diggs and Johnson as the more consistent options. Am I off base here?
Diggs is an easy call here. Only guy with reliable volume. I'd actually go Pierce in the other spot. He's been used a little more than just as a deep ball guy this season, and the matchup is excellent.
Need 2 RB in Half-PPR:
C Brown vs NYJ
Mason @ LAC tonight
J Warren vs GB
Rhamondre vs CLE

I am flip-flopping constantly, thanks for your input
Apparently, I'm pretty in on Brown, as I'm recommending him left and right. That's the case here too. Should be good volume against NY. I'd go Warren in the other spot. He's likely the heaviest used in the pass game and is probably just the best player.

Thanks.
I like Johnston over Addison. Better TD chances, and that plays for me in non-PPR.

What a difference a week can make. I trust the Bengals offense more than the Vikings right now, in addition to liking Brown's matchup more.
.5ppr

Last flex spot:

Orande Gadsden v MIN
Legette v BUF

Thanks bros
I think I'd roll with Gadsden. Better offense, seemingly better player, and who knows what version of Dalton we'll get.

SF pick one to pair with Bo Nix
Caleb in Baltimore
Rattler vs bucs
Flacco vs the jets

Caleb is currently in.

Same league, PPR
Bill JCM in KC
Pearsall in Houston (if healthy)
I think it's gotta be Flacco, no?

It's a fine matchup that Cincinnati should win and he has the best supporting cast on offense of his career.

Flacco>Caleb>Rattler
≠≠================{=={

After JCM's did last week it's tough to recommend him. Since it's PPR, if Pearsall plays I would go that route.

Pearsall>JCM

PPR league. Need to make a decision to start or sit J. Mason prior to the Thursday game.

I have to play two of these 3 RBs:

* R. Dowdle vs BUF -- Now splitting with Hubbard. BUF run D is pretty horrid though. Only way they keep this game close is if they run for 200+.

* J. Mason @ LAC -- A. Jones eligible to return, but who knows how much he'll play if it all. LAC run D surprisingly, statistically soft. Think MN D and O can keep this close to give Mason touches.

* C. Brown vs NYJ -- This looks like another juicy matchup for Flacco and company. I'm already starting Higgins in the same game along with Flacco (superflex). Starting Brown as well would really load the boat. Not sure they'll need to run at all if Sauce is out (concussion).

Leaning Dowdle and Mason.

Which 2?

Thanks
Got to this one late. Don't think there is a huge distinction but, Dowdle in the timeshare is probably who I would have benched. But, that could easily be a mistake because he's running crazy good.

Need a desperation flex in 0.5ppr (missed out on Gadsden and Tez)

Schultz vs SF (assuming Nico out)
Legette vs Buf
Franklin vs Dal
I think Schultz is the play with Nico out. Maybe he gets a Ferguson, sans CeeDee bump. He's a decent play regardless.

Schultz>Franklin>Legette

And a little more complicated one
FFPC scoring:
Need need TWO of the following:

R.Stevenson vs Cleve
K.Boutte vs Cleve
T.J. Hockenson @ LAC
E.Engram vs Dall
M.Brown vs Wash
I know it's a tough matchup but, at this point how can we view Rhamondre as anything but the unquestioned starting RB in NE?

I probably would have gone with Hock next but, that decision is already made.

After that it's a toss up between Boutte & Hollywood. They both low likely volume & TD dependent.

Engram is a non starter until he does something IMO. Our preseason visions of Jimmy Graham 2.0 were wrong.

Hollywood has the better QB and matchup.

Rhamondre>Hollywood>Boutte>Engram

PPR - Superflex - bonus points for rush/rec TDs of 40+ and 50+

RB:
Spears @ Indy
or
Monangai @ Bal

WR:
K. Coleman @ Car
or
M. Mims vs. Dallas
I think because of the matchup.

Monangai>Spears
≠============

Mims by a good margin IMO. I just can't trust Coleman at this point.

Mims>Coleman

0.5 PPR. Need help with my flex:
  • Kamara vs. Bucs
  • Dowdle vs. Bills
  • DJ Moore vs. Ravens
  • Peasrsall vs. Texans (If healthy but doesn't look good)
I'm not sure why Kamara hasn't been getting 20+ touches per game like McCaffrey. He had three straight 20+ followed by 15 & 14 games. Weird. He's still your best volume option but, I don't love it.

I like Moore less.

IDK what to expect with the 49ers having Kittle, Jennings & Pearsall back, weell I still expect CMC to get 97 touches but, after that... Still, Pearsall can be very good in this offense.

Yeah, it comes down to Rico & Kamara.

I'd flip a coin but, I think I land on

Kamara>Rico
Pearsall

Also 0.5 PPR league:

Need a TE:
  • Henry vs. Browns
  • Fannin vs. Patriots
Need a FLEX:
  • Chase Brown vs. Jets
  • McLaurin vs. Chiefs (If healthy, on MNF)
  • Jauan Jennings vs. Texans
Coin toss. No way to predict between the two but, if Njoku is out

Fannin>Henry.

If Njoku plays....

Flip a coin.
=========================

Personally I think Flacco is going to fire up the Bengals and I expect good things all around.

Chase Brown>Jennings>McLaurin

Defense question:

* KC vs WASH -- Daniels already out. Deebo and McLaurin iffy but it was reported they will practice. M. Mariota is capable but could be playing from behind with KC's ears pinned back.

or

* ATL D vs MIA -- Miami would appear to be a trainwreck. ATL pass D seems for real while the run D is middle of the pack. Waller on IR now.

Both of these Ds have very similar stats.

Which?

Thanks
Good options. Be comfortable with either.

Personally, I try to target the big play upside on defense and, with Waller out and Tua popping off to the media

ATL>KC

TE Appreciation Week:

In 2024, TEs scored 15 plus TDs on TE Appreciation Day

Who gets the nod:

Pitts vs Miami
Gadsden vs Minny
Henry vs Cleveland
Otton @ NO - On WW but I will get him if needed

Hope you went Gadsden.

I don't trust any of your other options but, with Godwin & Evans both out (trust but verify)

Otton>Pitts>Henry

0.5 PPR

Last Flex Play:
Kyle Monangai at Baltimore
Marvin Mims vs Dallas - I am starting Bo Nix as well
Personally, I would probably go with Monangai but, it is really difficult to trust his usage.

I'm hoping the Ravens defense is still porous and, if Lamar plays I hope their offense puts up points.

But they're both boom/bust options with similar potential.

Monangai>Mims

Non PPR, standard scoring and JSN on his bye week:
Q Johnson vs Vikings on Thursday (I hate Thursday games as it seems I always get screwed on them)
M. Mims vs Cowboys (Sieve defense but he has been very sporadic)

I think if this was a Sunday game, I would go with Johnson but right now I don't know if I could pull the trigger.
I would have gone with QJ regardless. I just think he's a bigger part of the Chargers offense.

But, too late, sorry.

Need 1 for Full Point PPR:

Believe it or not, all these are available in my 12 Men League. It’s a week rental.

Hock Vs. LAC
Njoku Vs. NE
Otton Vs NO
Henry Vs. Cleveland
Taylor Vs. Cincy
Of these options I think Otton jumps out just because it looks like Godwin and Evans will boss the game and it's a good matchup>. The others all have more question marks.

Otton>coin toss

Would anyone think I was crazy to be considering starting Flacco vs. NYJ over Jones vs. TN? 🤔

The Titans held Jones to a measely 15.82 points in Week 3.
I don't think it's crazy at all. Flacco can still sling it and he has great receivers.

But, the Titans didn't "hold" Jones to 15.82, they got thoroughly defeated and Jones didn't need to do much. I think the Colts will thoroughly defeat the Titans again and there will be plenty of opportunity for Jones to be the reason why.

Flacco>Jones

non-ppr

Mayfield @ Saints
or
D.Jones vs Titans

also, need two from the following

Judkins @ Patriots
R.Dowdle vs Bills
Z.Flowers vs Bears
T.McMillan vs Bills
Mayfield because Bucky isn't back.

Mayfield>D.Jones
============{{{{{

I'm going to pretend you didn't ask if you should start Judkins.

If Lamar is back I might go Zay BUT it's not PPR so

Dowdle>Tet>Zay
