Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups (1 Viewer)

Titus Young headed into a bye week, he's a rookie, yada yada yada

I think he's a good stash for the stretch run if he and Stafford start clicking more

You know Calvin will always draw the best coverage and this kid is good

He had a 41 yd TD on a completely broken play where the closet DB was at least 15 yds away while he stood in the endzone. I wouldn't put much faith in him.

If Nicks is out for a bit, Ramses Barden?
one of the few guys on most WW in this thread so far. well him and chris obonganonga
Cruz got mentioned and is owned in almost all leagues, Doucet (10.2%) is the only guy owned in more than 10% of espn leagues. Obviously shark pool players tend to play in more competitive leagues w/ deeper rosters but I dont get why people always over state this stuff and try and limit the conversation.

I agree. It's typically not helpful--sorry he isn't available in your league, move on...no need to be a #### about it.

Doucet had yet to be mentioned when I posted that. I agree with that one.But Ringer, Cruz, Ballard, clearly don't belong in a WW hopeful's thread.

Ringer--less than 3% of espn.com leaguesBallard--less than 10%You are incorrect sir, both deserve mentioning. I would like to add L. Robinson also.

Laurent Robinson? I thought he would break out with the Rams and he never did partially due to injuries. He had a great game against Detroit a few weeks ago and Romo seems to like him despite having Austin, Bryant, and Witten. There are probably too many mouths to feed here but he might be worth a flier if you have a deep bench.

He might be a popular pickup but for all the wrong reasons. He is arguably the #4 receiver in Dallas, and he pretty much reached all of his stats on that one busted defensive play. Basically if somebody just looks at stats and not watch the game, they are the people to pick him up. He has no value unless your in a 16 team league or something ridiculous.

Game isn't over but he is leading the team in targets far and away with 7. This is obviously a product of the eagles two stud corners but worth a note.

Actually, I was only mentioning them because they will be the major recipients of additional targets. Barden is still on PUP and not even active and has really shown nothing. He'd be a wasted waiver pick.

The bolded is all that needs to be said. Robinson is a waste of a pickup

Anyone know how long Robinson is signed with Cowboys?

As a Giants fan, Barden just got off the PUP and no way he's pup ahead of Cruz and Manningham.
well, considering Cruz and Manningham were owned in almost all leagues (at least any that i'm in), why wouldn't Barden be worth consideration? There was some hype about him this past week and he's always been an intriguing prospect who has just been slowed by injuries. If he's healthy, there is a chance he could make a splash

No question that play was a fluke, blown coverage. Yet if you have watched him play this week, he is a serious talent, able to get separation, and should be primed for a solid second half.

Im pretty sure I read that they werent taking him off the PUP listETA: I guess it was for last week and now they have 2 weeks to decide what to do

Deep/PPR leagues might find a spot for Ogbonnaya
Yes, the top 2 backs on the Browns have been tearing it up. Make sure to roster the Browns 3rd RB as well. Browns running game is a key to fantasy success.

I wonder about the Patriots situation at RB. Over the years I've had Faulk several times in PPR leagues, but I really didn't expect him to get 11 touches in any game this year. Any Patriots homers able to see how often he was on the field vs Woodhead?

Rotoworld appeared to answer my question rather quickly...The Patriots consider Kevin Faulk their top "passing back," according to beat writer Mike Reiss. With the Patriots trailing for most of yesterday's game against the Steelers, Faulk got a heavy workload in his 2011 debut. He played on 39-of-58 offensive snaps, way more than BenJarvus Green-Ellis (13) or Danny Woodhead (4). The role of each back will depend on the score and game flow, so predicting week-to-week workloads here is going to be very difficult. The Patriots host the Giants next Sunday. That's a pretty huge disparity in snaps for Faulk vs Woodhead.

The Woodhead experiment has come to an end. That schtick was fun though... Belicheck thinks he can just plug anyone in there.

He was the primary back for the Pats on Sunday. They only play one back at a time due to the 2 TE base set, and Faulk played 39 of the 58 snaps (low number of snaps shows for the Pitt offense dominated the game). Green-Ellis was next with 13.Seems odd, I really think Woodhead is a better player and their skill sets are similar. He's ownable in 12+ team PPR leagues, but his upside is very limited.

Why make this post? He said in deeper leagues. Can it with your crap. I play in one league where every single player listed in this thread is already rostered. I started Keiland Williams as one of my starting running backs. If you're in a shallow/normal league then of course avoid Cleveland. But if you're in a deeper league (as he stated), a guy who will get points - no matter how few - is worth picking up.
