So when my long-term 25 year old league, we’ve been trying to spice things up with some new rules. We do a one person keeper, that keeper can only be kept through two seasons.
Starting last year, we did a little bit of a change up. Before the draft starts, the first pick gets to decide which spot in the draft they’re going to pick from. Then the second pic gets to pick from the remaining 11 spots and so on and so forth.
Last year nobody really gave this much thought and basically one picked one, two pick two etc.
This year I have the number one pic, and there are a ton of high tier keepers available, more so than in years previous. So my question is, where would you select to pick from? It’s a serpentine draft, so if I pick 1.01 then I’m selecting 2.12. If I pick 1.06 then I’m selecting 2.06.
First round available players are as follows.
Chase
Saquon
Bijan
Gibbs
CMC
Jeanty
CeeDee
Amon ra
Henry
Puca
Achane
Brian thomas
I feel like the first 4 to 7 pics are all generally comparable. I don’t see a huge drop off from Saquon at one to Cee Dee or Derrick Henry at six.
Where the difference lies, is the wraparound pick in the second round. If I go with an early pick in rd 1, the players available generally on the way back are James cook, Tee Higgins, Breece Hall, Kittle.
If I take a middle spot in round one, the guys available are more in the Drake London, Bucky Irving, Jaxon, Ladd, maybe even Bowers zone.
So I guess my question is, would you rather have Saquon, Chase, Bijan with +\- Tee Higgins/Cook or CMC, Jeanty, CeeDee with +\- Bucky/Ladd?
