Welker drops 11 "Foot" references in press conference (1 Viewer)

Foot references are not the only "dropped stat" Wes leads the league in.
Interesting that he's also tied for 6th in Receptions.. wonder if any of this has to do with a high number of targets
Drops Per Target:Welker: 10.6%

Devin Hester: 9.6%

Jerrich Cotchery: 9.3%

Brandon Gibson: 8.8%

Miles Austin: 8.4%

Donald Driver: 8.1%

Steve Smith: 8.1%

Steve Breaston: 8.1%

Terrell Owens: 7.9%

Pierre Garcon: 7.6%

Brandon Marshall: 7.5%

Drops Per Missed Catch*: (*or "Drops Per Non Catch" or whatever you want to call it)

Welker: 13/37 (35%)

Devin Hester: 7/27 (26%)

Danny Amendola: 8/38 (21%)

Brandon Gibson: 8/38 (21%)

Miles Austin: 10/50 (20%)

Donald Driver: 7/35 (20%)

Reggie Wayne: 12/65 (18.5%)

Brandon Marshall: 11/60 (18.3%)

Jerricho Cotchery: 8/45 (17.8%)

Pierre Garcon: 9/51 (17.7%)

Welker may have a lot of targets and a lot of catches, but he also has a LOT of misses that were dropped.
I think it should be noted that most of these WRs are over the middle players. They get hit a lot by safeties and LB when making catches. So my follow-up question is, how many of these drops were caused by separation from the football by the defense?

Welker definitely merits a foot up his ### for this.

Seriously, focus on the game and not on the personal life of your opponent's coach and his wife. I think it is low class.

And, o yeah, he wasn't very funny. Three quarters of his "jokes" used the same metaphor. That's weak. if he were funny it might be easier to forgive.

Get a life. You sound like a prissy old lady.It was deadpan, and subtle, but not so much it wouldn't be noticed. Comedy gold.

There's no accounting for taste. Babies find repetition entertaining too and children love bathroom humor. That doesn't make it funny.

Seriously, focus on the game and not on the personal life of your opponent... like Rex calling out Brady both last week (when they were playing Indy) and this week? You wanna talk low-class? How about putting foot-fetish videos on the internet in the first place. His kids saw the fisting, nipple torture "likes" from their profile. That's not low-class?Ryan is going to get absolutely BRUTALIZED Sunday evening by the crowd, bet your bottom dollar on that.

If only Welker had dropped references to that in his press conference! :lmao:

If I was a 5'10 slot wr I dont think I would be talking too much trash. The opportunity for you to get cheap shot put on you is too great.
You really consider that "trash talking"? Egad, you're reaching for the top shelf here.
:goodposting: Are you kidding? That was great stuff making fun of his foot fetish. Outstanding work!
I guess not with respect to Cromartie's popping off. I saw it as Wes being witty and clever. IMO, not necessarily trash talk, but if you say so... ;)

Drops Per Missed Catch:
Can someone explian to me what the heck a "dropped per missed catch" is - I thought a drop WAS a missed catch. :goodposting:
I used the phrase "missed catch" to describe targeted passes that wasn't caught (even the ones that weren't Welker's fault). Welker was targeted 123 times and had 86 catches; therefore, 37 misses.Of those 37 missed catches (or "non catches" or whatever you want to call them), 13 were considered to be "Drops" by STATS, LLC.

Therefore, Welker dropped 35% of his misses -- highest in the league.
If what you are saying is that Welker only had 13 actual drops in 123 passes, then your math is off. That would mean he only dropped 12.3% of his passes.Numbers are funny like that.

The war is already afoot.

You know Wes will definitely be featured in the passing game.

This will be a tough loss for the team that gets defeated.

If the Pats score a TD with the game in hand, I really hope we get to see an entertaining end zone celebration.
