A bit amusing, but more so dangerousWouldn't mind if they brought the goal posts back into the endzone. Some of my favorite replays involved those posts

Oh that’s good. I’m not even that boomer yet.I hate games on Thursday and Saturday.
Do away with this for most plays. When you ice the game a away with a first down with 90 seconds left in the game you can celebrate the win. But a first down at the 14:27 mark of the first quarter on the first play of the game. Come on. Or when you are down 37 pts in the 4th quarter with 2 minutes to play. Jeesh....look at the scoreboard.I don't like all the showboating after plays. You make a first down, hand the ball to the ref so you can start the next play. It's a team game, you don't need to bring attention to yourself. As Barry Sander's father would say, "act like you been there before."
The Sunday games should be split evenly between the early and late slots. Having 9 games early and 3 games late is terrible planning and should never happen.make that game a 4:00 ET instead
That was among the many things I loved about LT (Tomlinson not Taylor) - just handed the ball to the ref after every one of his gazillion TDs.I don't like all the showboating after plays. I don't mind the TD celebrations (provided the game is close).......it's the celebrating a first down in the first quarter that is terrible. Or making a tackle for a 3 yard gain on 1st and 10 or the celebration on a TD when it made the score 42 to 10. There is a time and place for a celebration. That was among the many things I loved about LT (Tomlinson not Taylor) - just handed the ball to the ref after every one of his gazillion TDs.I don't like all the showboating after plays. I don’t mind TNF, partly because I have prime and won’t pay for NFL on YouTube this year. Agree on SaturdayI hate games on Thursday and Saturday.
NFL is pandering to gamblers. Which I hate.Fantasy: DFS ruins the soul of FF
NFL: Is more of an entertainment league than a sports league now.
60 yards equaling a touchdown is equally stupid. If I were to form a FF league today it would have points for touchdowns, field goals, and first downs (which almost never are including in scoring).Fantasy: PPR is stupid. Non-PPR was always the right way to go. A reception being worth the same as 10 yards never made any sense.
At least ditch the choreographed celebrations. The lambeau leap or icky shuffle (before everyone got into it) types are fine.I don't like all the showboating after plays. Right, they could just make it better.Wish they would eliminate Thursday Night Football.
I don’t think it’s a boomer take to dislike a bad product.
This is super boomer and I love it.60 yards equaling a touchdown is equally stupid. If I were to form a FF league today it would have points for touchdowns, field goals, and first downs (which almost never are including in scoring).
Our original league (started in 1985) is actually a SF league but that flex spot can only be a QB or a K. Kickers score enough to be used in that slot. A 50 yd FG is 6 pts (same as a TD) and QB's only get 3 pts for a passing TD and don't get any points for yds until they get to 150 and then it's 1 pt every 50 yds. Makes for some interesting lineups. This is super boomer and I love it.60 yards equaling a touchdown is equally stupid. FF scores would be like 47-34, and would resemble real football scores.
Contrast that with my 16 team IDP PPR TEP SF start 11/11 league where my team set the all-time scoring record the 2nd week of the playoffs with 523 points. My players averaged 23+ and it was absolutely bonkers. The scoring doesn't matter as long as everyone knows what it is going into the draft. In fact, the more off the wall scoring the better because it makes the bevy of cheatsheets available almost useless to a point. Rewards people that actually research things.Contrast that with my 16 team IDP PPR TEP SF start 11/11 league where my team set the all-time scoring record the 2nd week of the playoffs with 523 points. My 1st league was 1 QB, non-PPR, .1/1 Ru/Re, .1/25 Pa, 4 point PaTD, -2 Int, -2 FL and that was that. Having a top D/ST was a cheat code since they could score more than a top QB.
We’ve come a long way, baby!
Personally I love high scoring FF.The scoring doesn't matter as long as everyone knows what it is going into the draft. In fact, the more off the wall scoring the better because it makes the bevy of cheatsheets available almost useless to a point. Rewards people that actually research things.
Yes! Bring back Mile High, Candlestick, Joe Robbie Stadium, etc. None of this commie "Empower Field at Mile High" crap. And back in my day the staduim was named after the city or the team or some historical figure. I think when the citizens of city have to build the damn stadium for the billionaire owner, they should get to name it. And if m&t bank wants a stadium, they should have to build it.
Well, then you just have to be one step ahead and subscribe to the Platinum Mega-Exclusive Double Secret Handshake cheat sheet instead.I miss killing my league bc I studied. Now these hosers show-up 15 minutes b4 the draft and draft off a premium cheatsheet.

Well played, sir or madame.
Sure there is a skill in that but the advantage that skill gives you now with the gluttony of quality info at everyone's fingertips is miniscule compared to schedule/injury luck. So while it has a benefit it is a negligible benefit. There is such a thing as exploiting ADP / rankings.
There remains the skill of identifying targets who are due for a breakout, or who you have ranked much higher than consensus. There’s also something to be said for fading players who you are lower on them consensus.
Too many games; don't need 17 (18 soon). 16 at most and I'm okay with 14.
Fantasy: PPR is stupid. Non-PPR was always the right way to go. A reception being worth the same as 10 yards never made any sense.
Get offa my lawn!I could have sworn that I was the only person that didn't like PPR.
And before that, 6 and 14. Yes, there were 6 preseason games prior to 1978.I don't mind TNF. I do agree that it's not as good (as game) since sometimes players are coming off of 2-3 days rest. Which is the only reason I dislike it. It's kind of horrible to ask unrested players to suit up for another game so soon. Perhaps some schedule overhaul is needed. Like maybe on teams coming off a bye week or played in last Thursdays game can play Thursday.

Don't they already play 20? 3 pre-season and 17 regular? and before it was 4 preseason and 16? I don't really mind the nfl/pa milking it for all its worth. but the thread was boomer takes so...yea.

I've always wondered the reason for this. Is it just east coast / west coast split of teams? The Sunday games should be split evenly between the early and late slots. Having 9 games early and 3 games late is terrible planning and should never happen.make that game a 4:00 ET instead
I have no idea. It has never made any sense. My guess is that they want a marquee game to get a bigger share of viewership to increase advertising revenue for the afternoon.I've always wondered the reason for this. Yes, it is mainly to show marquee games to most of the nation, and to a smaller effect to games played on the west coast as there is a policy that most games can't start before noon local time of where the game is played.I have no idea. I’ve been wondering if a team will go money ball here, and whether having a stable of elite running backs and a great TE along with cheap WR could be better than a couple veteran receivers.Bring back the fullback as a valued role! The league is so carbon copy pass happy.
I came here to say the same thing although maybe slightly different.I don't like all the showboating after plays. You make a first down, hand the ball to the ref so you can start the next play. That was the worst tasting crap on the planet and it was glorius!A stick of gum in football cards. The more brittle and glass like the better
