Kalamata for snacking and salads. The olive salad in a muffaletta sandwich is darn tasty, not sure what olives are used.

I didn't like olives when I was a kid and pretty much swore them off for 25 years. I recently had some green olives as part of a salad and liked them. Now I have to try black olives.

I love all olives...but I think green are my favorite. Black olives on pizza are OK...green on pizza are delicious.

Green olives on a burger is a game changer. Whenever I'm in Michigan I eat olive burgers, they're very popular there.

Bottom line: all olives are good olives.

The only difference between a black olive and a green olive is time

:jawdrop:

I guess that means we're all going to have to just get along.

Yes, green olives were surprisingly great the first time I had them on pizza. Look forward to trying on a burger.

I think the olive burgers are only popular north of the 45th parallel

I like anything Sicilian or Spanish.

Eat these with excellent beer.

Whole Foods has a terrific selection but if you want to learn something try to find some Italian grocery or importer somewhere. I know a place in New Orleans, but I'm sure these can be found any place with a sizable Italian immigration history.
Holyland deli in Minneapolis has a nice selection of olives
:goodposting: just spent like 30 bucks on olives there a few days ago
