What are your unpopular 2009 fantasy football opinions? (1 Viewer)

Steven Jackson will not be a top 20 RB

Matt Forte will not be a top 10 RB

Joseph Addai is a top 5 RB

Ryan Grant is a top 5 RB

TO will not be a top 20 WR

Anthony Gonzales is a top 5 WR

Look out for Ted Ginn

D Garrard will be a top 5 QB

Romo is not top 15.

- Jamarcus Russell will crack the top 10

- Deangelo will be the #1 RB

- At some point in the year Bradshaw will replace Jacobs as the Giants #1 back (and eventually put up top 20 #s)

- Fitz is going to have a big time let down year

- LT and LJ ARE done

- Dwayne Bowe WILL be a top 10 WR...Hayley is just playing mind games with him

Warner will improve on last years numbers.

Jackson and Slaton will end up being 1-2 this year.

Steve Smith will be the number 1 WR and Bowe will end up top 5.

Witten will have double digit TDs.

Devin Hester becomes a solid WR with 1100 yards.

Elam will be the number one kicker.

Donald Brown becomes the second half back to own.

Vikings are the number one defense but they still miss the playoffs.

Tashard Choice will be the #1 scoring RB in Dallas because of constant injuries to Barber and Jones.

Tony Gonzalez will be the #8-10 TE this season.

Brian Robiskie becomes Brady Quinn's key target and win O-Roy (1050-7 TDs)

- Jamarcus Russell will crack the top 10 - At some point in the year Bradshaw will replace Jacobs as the Giants #1 back (and eventually put up top 20 #s)
I can only assume you posted these for shock value...Top 10 of what?
- Top 10 QB (of course) - And im going to adjust my Bradshaw prediction to say that him in Jacobs will BOTH finish in the top 20 RB
Thats cool...not to bust your balls (cause I know thats what this thread is all about) but how on earth can you say that about Russell? You know top 10 is roughly 3,500yds and 20 TDs. Last season the Radiers had 2,370 and 13. Who is catching all these passes in your opnion?

Anyone who thinks Addai will be a better RB this year than Forte should probably get their medication checked. I'm amused by all this Forte hate. I'll take Forte at number 3 or 4 or 5, and watch him blow these negative expectations to smithereens. He'll probably be a top three back in PPR formats.

A few I can think of off the top of my head.....

- Matt Schaub and Carson Palmer both finish in the top 8 of QBs.

- Brady takes the #1 spot at QB.

- Matt Forte and Chris Johnson finish outside of the top 10 RB's.

- Frank Gore and Ronnie Brown are both in the top 6 RB's

- DMac finishes in the top 12 RB's.

- R. Moss finishes as the #1 WR by a wide margin, A. Johnson finishes #2.

- Gates finishes as the #1 TE, with 10+ TD's.

- Zach Miller scores more than any TE not named Gates, Witten, Clark and Olsen.

having all three of Addai, Garrard and SJAX, I'm torn on this prediction. I think Garrard is top 11, Addai top 24 and Sjax top 12

Because Forte's career YPC average behind a pretty darn good OL is much better than Addai's behind a putrid OL. :goodposting: I'm surprised at the Addai hate. Logically Brown will cut into his carries a little, but not like Rhodes did last season when Addai was injured. More like Keith did the year prior.

I don't hate Addai, but the Colts didn't draft a RB in the 1st round to be the waterboy.
Using this same logic, shouldn't Stewart be getting a lot more carries from DeAngleo then?

Stewart was getting alot of carries last season before he got hurt(again). It's kind of hard for Stewart to get carries now that he can't run. But you keep telling yourself Addai will get 80% of the carries if it makes you feel better.

Apparently you didn't see the Bears offensive line play last year. The Indy line struggled, but the Bears line wasn't much better. The Bears may have three new starters on the line. They have two new tackles. Orton wouldn't throw the ball further than 10 yards down the field, so Forte was running against 8 men in the box. Let's see what Forte's average is when there is a threat of the deep pass. Addai is an above average player, who can't stay healthy. Brown is a much better player than Addai. When Addai gets hurt, and he probably will, Brown may take the job and never give it back. But Brown is far too talented to not be used. And don't get me wrong, I like Addai at his ADP, but I'm not expecting him to be top 15. I expect him to be productive when he plays. But if I draft him I want Brown. I want Brown even if I don't draft Addai.

I can see the bears having some larger leads than last year in the 4th and giving more garbage time to Jones. He is young, 27 and 2 years removed from an injury. The Lions did not use him properly, they gave up on the run way to soon during a lot of games. I can see Jones geting 400 rushing and 100 receiving and 2-4 TDs.
ok, I take this one back, Chicago Bears' running back Kevin Jones out for season

Mine:

- Fred Taylor has a Dillon-esque resurgence in NE and finishes in the Top 25 of RBs (NE had two top 30 rushers last season - Faulk & Morris)

- Felix Jones starts more than 5 games for Dallas and finishes around RB 15-20, along with Barber

- Laurent Robinson scores more fantasy points than Avery

- Ray Rice is a top 10 RB

- Jon Carlsen finishes as the #4 TE

My ten-pack....

KC - Cassel throws for 4K yards, but throws 20 INTS with 22 TDs FALSE 2,924 yards 16/16

IND - Gonzalez and Wayne both end up in the top 15 WRs FALSE

BUF - Owens hits the career wall and ends up lower than WR30 PARTIALLY FALSE - Depends on scoring system, but in WCOFF scoring he was #30

CIN - Benson's rebirth continues as he runs for 1200 yards and 10 TDs TRUE - Close enough... good call

MIN - Favre only starts four games and then misses most of the season with injuries -- and retires again. FALSE - OOF

PIT - Mendenhall and FWP both end up in the top 25 RBs FALSE - PARKER OOF

SD - LT only nets 700 yds as he battles injuries again TRUE -good call

NYG - S. Smith and Hixon both have more than 800 yds receiving and both end up as top 30 WRs - FALSE - Hixon had 15 rec
Prediction threads are only fun if you go back and look at the results a year later. This is one of my favs from last season. (with actual results colored)

I think this one was more fail because of his unwavering certainty.

1. Matt Stafford still has a long way to go before he can be a reliable starting FF QB (even in 2 QB leagues).

2. The Raiders are actually going to be good this year and they will have some seriously undervalued pieces on both sides of the ball.

3. Carson Palmer is done as an elite QB.

4. If his broken thumb doesn't get in the way, Josh Freeman will be what most think Stafford will be this year.

5. Barring some extra injury risk from rushing, Aaron Rodgers is the most valuable player in all of fantasy football.

6. Jay Cutler is a huge injury risk with Martz and that OL. But until he goes down, he'll put up top ten QB stats with big upside. Two words: John Kitna.

7. RB is an overrated position in most formats.

8. Big Ben will have a triumphant return from his rapistberger episode. This is one of the few bad OL resistant QBs.

9. Larry Fitzgerald will be a top 15 WR if he plays 16 full games, no matter who is throwing him the ball this year

Not to shabby for a blind squirrel like myself. BTW, these were a bunch of unpopular 2010 predictions. See the date of the post. I was confused when I made it.
