What can I expect out of DJ Hackett (1 Viewer)

Alright, this year I am done, but have made a trade to bring in cheap guys that I have an option to keep next year. I got DJ but really know very little about him, apart from him being injured this year and having two great games the last two weeks. I could keep him for $7 bucks in a $200 budget league.

Can someone compare him to somebody I might know a little more about (Marvin, Reggie, TO etc.)

Thanks for the help!!

First off, he's had 3 good games in a row, not just two. Second, he's a UFA at the end of the year so a lot depends on if he stays a Seahawk. Where he goes could drop him or raise him, though it seems unlikely he'd be in a much better situation than Seattle. Of course Holmgren may not be back next year either so there are a lot of variables. Branch getting more and more into game shape may cut into his numbers but it's clear he's a deep threat as well as a big RZ target. His dropped TD was probably the first true "drop" I've seen from him in the last 3 seasons and 2 preseasons before that. Everyone drops a few, Moss and Stallworth both did it last night. But he has sticky hands, runs good (not great) routes though he is still learning due to limited starting time. He goes after the ball. A lot of WRs let it come to them, he goes and gets it. He's a borderline NFL WR1 in a pass happy offense. They have been grooming him for years so I don't think they'll let him go anywhere in the offseason but then again the Fo has made some huge errors the last few offseasons. Hutch, SA and then bringing Dielman to Seattle on a rainy weekend. If he visits on a sunny weekend he'd have been a Seahawk this year instead of a Charger and Seattle fnas would be saying Hutch who..? I digress.I don't know much about salary cap leagues but a WR1 for 3.5% of your budget seems like a great deal to me as long as he stays on or goes to a team that has good QB play and no Moss or TO.

I play in a $200 cap auction keeper also, and I am a Seattle homer. I would say $7 is about right but I would drop him back into the draft and try and get him for $3~5. I never keep a player at my projected value. I don't think $7 is a good keeper value even though I may be willing to bid that much.

Can Seattle afford to pay 3 WRs WR1 money? I see Hackett elsewhere next year.
Burleson isn't getting quite WR1 money and I can see them losing him rather than letting DJ go. And if they're going to be a pass happy O then they need to have the WRs to do it. Plus DJ's vacation may have lowered his asking price a bit. we'll see, but the team has been nailed for making bad FO decisions the last few years so hopefully they come to their senses and don't let a workhorse possible top 10 WR walk away. Now, if the SA contract prohibits them keeping Hackett I'll be doubly POed. But from what I've read he will only count 6mil against the cap next year.
